Good job on the wings, keeping them as they were. Gives off a translucent feeling to it.
Thanks! Glad you approve, wasn't 100% sure myself.
Thanks for picking this one up! I can see you are really getting the hang of doing hair! The crystal is difficult but adding gloss was a smart move. Oh, and those fairy-like eyes were spot on!
Cheers! I'm pretty chuffed with this one, thanks for suggesting it - wasn't one I was going to do any time soon, and it made me try extra hard because it was for a request :-)
Nicely done Ben your painting skills are improving although you were good to start out. Keep it up mate.
Thanks Robbie. Your encouragement is seriously appreciated as always. I thought I had improved too at the end of this model. I think making tutorials makes me see areas I can do better when I'm editing the videos and I try and remember it for the next model
I have not seen these models before, I really like them and the way you have painted it is great, re the crystal, im a bit half way, I liked the pink crack but it was a bit bright so toning it down a bit would have been my choice. Hopefully this company still exists. OK, well its a whole game, looks fun but I have noone to play with, sadly I can't see anyway to buy the models alone :(
Yeah. CMON make a lot of chibi games. They are making a Marvel one soon! You can get a lot of individual characters from Arcadia Quest actually as add ons. This one in particular you can’t though - Kickstarter exclusive!
Definitely prefer the lighter crystal edges, tho maybe could do with going tiny bit darker on the flats to compensate- but to be honest I think it looks fine for the cartoony look of the models, Those eyes are beautiful btw. Good job!
Thanks! One of my favourite finished models now :-)
Nice technique with the crystal man. That's got to be a hard effect to pull of trying to make it look translucent but looks like you did a pretty good job on it brother! The chibi eyes are extremely difficult to pull off and you did do a great job of those. My favorite I did are with my scarlet model. I somehow was a able to get about 4 shades of green in her eyes and they turned out beautiful. I'm proud of those the most. Also I've been doing a gloss varnish to eyes, tongues, teeth, anything that would look wet like I think you suggested a while ago and I think it turns out pretty nice looking then of course doing the rest in a matte varnish. keep up the great work always love seeing your figs!
Glad you like it. Definitely one of the more difficult things I've attempted so far! Yeah I recall mentioning glossing the eyes! I matte varnish spray the whole model. Then gloss over the top on the eyes and tongues. I've not tried the teeth before though! Thanks for the idea I'll see how that looks. Cheers!
