A FANatic of a celebrity is the new idolatry. They go to their concerts and look at them in awe. They’re screaming and crying like they’re the greatest thing they have ever seen. Even so called historical figures.
Behind the search for every idol lies the yearning for completion. To seek a special person or a thing to "add" to you to make yourself complete can only mean that you believe some form is missing, and by finding this, you will achieve completion in a form that you like. This is the purpose of an idol, that you will not look beyond it to the source of the belief that you are incomplete.

I would state it as idolatry being most any unnecessary secular thing that uses up serious time and/or money (or energy or passion) that could be used for God's work in the world (like caring for the needy), especially those things that engender a lot of passion, like competitive sports fandom, excessive work, or nationalistic fervor . JESUS IS LORD I was addicted to video games watching my favorite Shows and Netflix but then God helped me and pointed out how much of my time I could have invested on just Praying, Praising him, and reading the scriptures. I used to just pray for a few minutes and just read a few verse of the bible and thought I had a good relationship with him. I was deceiving myself. I took extreme measures and removed if all. No Tv. No Games in which I spent money on, No videos. I have dedicated on Just thinking about him and reading the scriptures and relying on him to provide the paths that I need to take. I’am just 15
