- how to get rid of blanket weed from the pond. Blanket weed is a tremendous algae which if left untreated will take over your garden pond in weeks. It has spores which can even travel through the air & end up in your pond then usually will feed on all the nutrients that is been created by your fish, once it has consumed all the nutrients it will then start to die then produce more nutrients for more to grow. we take a look at the answer for blanket weed control & its called blanket answer, i have used this before and have not found anything better so far. I never use to sell that product when I had the shop but many people said that it was very effective. Blanketweed is a real bummer inn many ponds.
For bad infestations the I-tronic units from Velda are class - very expensive but they are a permanent solution.
I have looked at them but way out my budget lol!!

I've used this for the last 2-3 years but last year it did nothing at all to kill the weed. This year I'm trying another make, I'm on the 2nd dose of 3 as per instructions and its working and it doesn't cloud the water. Fingers crossed
i know at colder tempretures it struggles but i have always had great results, let us know how you get on with the new product your trying!!
Did this stuff have any bad effect on Snails? I have a lot of Golden Apple snails in the pond that I am worried it might kill them.. Cheers :)

Hi I know its been posted a while, just wondered did you ever clean it down, or does it clear itself, mine was just algea on the side walls, not string. Used this 2 days ago sides are white, just wondered if it clears itself?

Cheeky posting this like but need to pick your brains. Had lilly in pond chagoi thought it would be good to play in the clay. You can imagine the next bit. Best why to get rid of clay out of my water
probs going to be a pond vac or if you could put the end of a hose down a drain so it is deeper than your pond you could siphon it, To the fish its exiting wondering whats in the middle lol you could try sinking some sort of bigger container and then put your lilly in the middle of that one making a cage so he cant get at it, good luck!!
Scrapped lilly. Could syphon easy but is there a way to do a complete water change safely
you will be better of trying tetra crystal water which will bind the tiny particles into bigger heavier lumps then your filter will catch most and the rest will settle on the bottom here is a link for some amzn.to/2r51BJC 100% water change is never a good idea.

Don't order this stuff unless you want to swap the green algae for a white mess. Also changed the colour of 2 of my dark koi. Clear waters is much better
