I'm the same Shawn everytime I Ryde my F3!! ... It puts the biggest grin on my face!! 👍😁 The 3 wheelers are taking over LOL!! ... The Rise of the 3 wheelers!! 👍😆
Transformers comes to mind when I look at that bike, it's footprint on the road doesn't extend beyond the width of the engine or pegs. Looks very confidence inspiring, I can't see those front wheels wash out from underneath you in a hurry.
Glad you found the Niken to your satisfaction I was really impressed with them, my only reservation is all that suspension linkage up at the front. In a few years there could be a lot of them for sale with"front end needs attention" sign on them , but time will tell...... like it always does!
You have come up with another cool mo pickle. Just hurt me why don't 'cha. LOL. That Niken is definitely a winner. Stay safe and try not to have so much fun😎
Leave it up to Yamaha to think outside the box and take a risk like this. The suspension cam was awesome you could really see how things were working up front. Thanks for the video.
I wonder if any other vendors will follow the Niken design. I think that after the initial shock, the bike community is accepting it, especially when they see how nice it handles. Hitting some gravel in a corner, it certainly would be nice to have the extra contact patch.
Just so you know, I was in talking to Karen today and I pretty much told it her it was your fault I drove up from Gresham to look at the GSA. Love your reviews and appreciate the time you put in on them. I will be in there next Friday for a test ride! Keep up the info, and thanks again.
With this motorcycle you have to drive in the mountains where you have many narrow curves but not only straight on highway u streets...that is interesting and the advantage of the yamaha niken
Kelly & You have a Beautiful Granddaughter, and it's good to see Lucas, the Award Winner again. It was a very interesting ride, especially where You had the Go Pro located, showing the action of both front tire. I was amused by Your excitement in riding the Nicken, it was typically You "Liken the Niken", I've watched quite a few Vlogs, You just "Love to ride", and it doesn't matter who the manufacturer is. Thanks for taking Us on an interesting ride today.
Shawn when I first saw the Niken I said do you steer this, then I said to myself no the wheels are to close together. What a different wheel this is cool. Thanks for the ride Shawn very cool. The baby is beautiful. You and Kelly have a great weekend. Maybe take Lucas for a ride. Be Cool and Ride Safe🇺🇸🏍🐶
The Niken is definitely not the prettiest bike out there. But everyone who takes one for a spin says that they are excellent. Me, I’ll stick with my Ryker, although if I were in the market for a sports tourer, the Niken would be a serious contender. Have a great weekend you guys. Namaste 🙏🏻
Brilliant review, have seen many journalists riding the Niken but they seem too clinical. Your ride seemed to be more honest and down to earth somehow.
I have yet to get chance to ride the Niken GT, but I have noticed in ALL the video-test rides I have watched, in very short order, the Niken has the rider giggling. Who could ask for more out of a bike? Luv and kisses, Carfunkle
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend lately =)
That is so wild, how is the breaking with two front wheels is there two sets of breaks? With four shocks it seems like it would be very smooth. Great video, Thank You.
The brakes were fantastic..! The Niken out braked the other bikes during the red light panic stop, ABS intervention and all... My biggest concern was the bike on my tail, which luckily, was the other Niken! Lol The bike was shockingly smooth and stable handling. Thanks!
I've ridden the Niken here in England. I thought it was good and certainly planted in the corners. Yamaha are struggling to sell many here, lots of riders perceive these as 'not proper bikes' perhaps they will be better received over your way
Pretty much every one of the hundred or so folks that rode them during the demo event. Everyone was raving over it..! The looks seemed to be the only point of contention among a few... By far, an overall win on the Niken..! Thanks
Interesting video. Just can't stop wondering the effects of un-even front end tire pressures, wheel alignment problems, and a single front end flat tire will have on its ability to ride safely. Seems just a bit scary like anything new I guess...
The way the front end works, uneven tire pressure (besides being unsafe) have zero effect, don’t know how it’s aligned, so that’s yet to be determined. If you continue to ride any vehicle on a flat, you’re going to have a less than favorable ending at some point..! Thanks!
It's unique and different, but I don't get the point of it. I mean, if you still have to support it like a two-wheeler when you stop, then it doesn't offer what a true trike does for those people who don't have the leg strength anymore for two wheels. And what does it offer for the two-wheel enthusiast? What am I missing? I think the cool factor would wear off pretty quickly. Maybe that's just me. Your grand-daughter is beautiful. Anyway, I hope y'all have a great weekend. Peace and love.
TJ Rohyans In theory, 2 fronts offer better traction in wet weather and on gravel, because if one tire slips, there is the second one. Plus the whole pot hole stability.
My understanding is that it provides increased stability in a variety of situations, cornering over varied surfaces, braking, and recovery. With a standard configuration the amount of warning you receive before the loss of traction and front end flop is very minimal, with the Niken it is similar to a car where you experience a front end push before front end flop giving an broader recovery time.
There is a business somewhere south of Seattle called "Tilting Motor Works." I don't know if you have ever heard of it. They transform Honda and Harley touring models by installing a unit with two wheels on the front of the bike. When you ride, the front wheels tilt like the "Niken" and you are supposed to get better handling and control. Check them out on the internet if you get a chance. TCRS.
I'm sure the Niken is a fine bike, like almost every bike made these days. But I predict Yamaha will sell about 5 of them. It introduces weight and complexity that solves zero problems.
Shawn, The Yamaha Niken is a very cool looking Motorcycle. Thank you for taking us along. I hope Kelly and you have a great weekend.
I'm the same Shawn everytime I Ryde my F3!! ... It puts the biggest grin on my face!! 👍😁 The 3 wheelers are taking over LOL!! ... The Rise of the 3 wheelers!! 👍😆

I come back from Vacation...Heres Smoak on a Space Ship Motorcycle from the Future....That thing is so Cool...Ride Safe !!
Glad you found the Niken to your satisfaction I was really impressed with them, my only reservation is all that suspension linkage up at the front. In a few years there could be a lot of them for sale with"front end needs attention" sign on them , but time will tell...... like it always does!

That Niken is some kinda of futuristic looking, very unique. Thanks for sharing the ride, good stuff, Smoak.
Those are my roads that you are running out there Shawn. Lots of fun but, you have to be careful. Looks like a nice ride for you guys.
Like the Tft display, wish Yamaha had thought to update the fjr’s dated dash display. Straight out of the 80’s
Leave it up to Yamaha to think outside the box and take a risk like this. The suspension cam was awesome you could really see how things were working up front. Thanks for the video.
That Niken is one cool looking bike, looks like it would be comfortable to ride as well.
A few weeks ago I recommend that you take the Niken out for a spin/Review glad to see you did it. Great job
I wonder if any other vendors will follow the Niken design. I think that after the initial shock, the bike community is accepting it, especially when they see how nice it handles. Hitting some gravel in a corner, it certainly would be nice to have the extra contact patch.
That. /bike looks like a lot of fun to ride for sure keep up the great work y’all
Interesting ride, it will take some time getting used to how they look. I should be in Moab later today, sure looking forward to it.
Just so you know, I was in talking to Karen today and I pretty much told it her it was your fault I drove up from Gresham to look at the GSA. Love your reviews and appreciate the time you put in on them. I will be in there next Friday for a test ride! Keep up the info, and thanks again.
Way Cool..! Thanks!
The front end on the Niken sure seems complex to be able lean into turns and and pivot. Thanks for the ride!👍
Looks like a fun ride, weird lookin though. Thanks Shawn.
With this motorcycle you have to drive in the mountains where you have many narrow curves but not only straight on highway u streets...that is interesting and the advantage of the yamaha niken
I like where the mirrors are positioned.
That thing is cool. I heard a couple reviewers online comment that it would have been even better with the MT 10 engine.
die Motorrad tour ist perfekt
Thank you for Sharing ride safe out there 👊✌️

Thanks man!! 😎
Smiles per mile.
Very interesting bike and a cool ride👍 Have you every taken the Yamaha Super Tenere out? Just wondering about your thoughts on that adventure bike.
Headed towards Hockinson for a bit. Man I miss home sometimes.
That Nikin is a sharp bike.
Shawn when I first saw the Niken I said do you steer this, then I said to myself no the wheels are to close together. What a different wheel this is cool. Thanks for the ride Shawn very cool. I get so many looks and so much attention on my Ryker, it's insane. My lowly base model 600...hahah
Niken looks so cool. I wonder if it has a damper though that's why you can't feel there are 2 wheels up front.
Brilliant review, have seen many journalists riding the Niken but they seem too clinical. Your ride seemed to be more honest and down to earth somehow.

I just can’t get used to the look of that Nykin. A little too weird for me. The 900 triple engine is a runner.
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend lately =)
@Milan Omari yea, I have been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
That is so wild, how is the breaking with two front wheels is there two sets of breaks?

Thanks!
they look pretty neat. so is that your next bike?
I've ridden the Niken here in England. I thought it was good and certainly planted in the corners. Yamaha are struggling to sell many here, lots of riders perceive these as 'not proper bikes' perhaps they will be better received over your way
Who do you think the indended buyer is? I want to like it, but I still do not understand it.
Pretty much every one of the hundred or so folks that rode them during the demo event. Everyone was raving over it..! The looks seemed to be the only point of contention among a few... By far, an overall win on the Niken..!
Thanks
They just added machine gun mounts to the accessory catalog 😀
does it have cruise control?
Lol, yes it does...

I like it, but I hear these Nikons cost twice as much as a Ryker 600. Is that true?
I rarely look at prices... Lol I have no idea what the Niken sells for, I’ll jump on Yamaha’s site when I have a moment.
Thanks
Gostei 😎🤗👍🇧🇷

👍👍
So if it doesn’t stand on it’s own, are the two front wheels just a novelty thing or what is the purpose

I'd rather have a Spyder!
You make a nice couple, you and the wife.
Shawn ,I heard this bike described as the answer to a question that nobody asked.
I don't want my front end to wash out. How do I achieve that?
I'm sure the Niken is a fine bike, like almost every bike made these days. But I predict Yamaha will sell about 5 of them. It introduces weight and complexity that solves zero problems.
