I can’t thank you enough for this recipe. I fell in love with the Crying Tiger dish years ago when I visited a Thai restaurant. Since then their dishes changed and I couldn’t find anyone who made this sauce as good as the 1st time had it. Been craving it for years and had given up that I would ever enjoy this dish again. Found your recipe and ran straight to the store to get the ingredients. It was heaven in my mouth!!! Now I can make this on my own and enjoy it whenever the craving hits.
Can I ask did you use Tamarind concentrate or paste?
U look like a lady boy
@@richardmonheim841 I actually used both. The concentrate was a lot easier to mix.
I am Thai and I feel so satisfied when I saw Thai recipes from this channel, I can confirm she cooks them like an authentic Thai chef.
That makes me happy too. I am not Thai but I want to cook using authentic Thai recipes.
I am Thai. And I completely agree with you! When you are out in western countries, it is hard to find the ingredients
This channel is perfect as she also gives us the perfect alternatives for those ingredients but still very Thai.
She is half Thai bruh
Her mum, Mama Noi, is full Thai. She is sometimes on with Marion and she's a total Rock Star. Mama Noi is also an excellent cook. Subscribe and check out Marion's wonderful channel to see more great Thai, Chinese and other international recipes and of course, to see the awesome Mama Noi.
Hi Salinda. Do you live in Thailand? I will travel alone there 6 months later. Do you have any recommendations like nice places to visit, food...Thank you

I am a retired culinary arts instructor and I spend much of my time wandering around SEA learning to be a better cook. Well done on these instructionals! Lots of attention to detail plus the added product knowledge information is critical especially with new cooks. Thank you. I subscribed.
Respect to you for keeping the beef moving in the pan constantly. Same goes for the grill. So many "experts" say the opposite. I am now subscribed to your channel.

Maybe the tiger cried because it tasted something beyond words and only tears could convey its feelings. I know there has been a few times in life I've tasted something so wonderful it brought me to tears.
The opening close up to the dish had me in tears, looks delicious, beautiful.

"Just because I'm me, I'm going to add more chili powder." Marion, you are positively brilliant, you rock!! Much love from Canada!

My new Favourite channel.. Thank you you have given me so many great ideas and iv only watched 2 Videos. ☺️
Hello. I have been looking for a recipe for this sauce for years. I've been living in northern Thailand for a while and this was always my favourite. I knew what it was called, but nobody could every explain what was in it. I've experimented a few times as I knew about the fish sauce and sugar but I couldn't figure out the rest (especially the rice). I'm gonna be the hit of my next Canadian BBQ.
Thank you.
You seriously couldn't just search up the recipe for the sauce?
Looks SO good!!! Reminds me of all those childhood backyard barbecues.
OK thank you! I have never thought that Toasted rice is that easy! Mostly I always bought those seasonal package from supermarket as the ingredient is not my pantry stable.
You made my mouth water I had to sub! I'm cambodian and our dishes are so similar. Going to make this, this weekend! ❤
One of my favorite dishes. Madam Ma’ams would serve it with a small foiled ball of sticky rice, too. A chunk of rice, a few slivers of red onion, lettuce, a bite sized portion of meat and a dip in that amazing sauce and I was in heaven. Simply amazing.
Made it tonight. It was good but my sauce was crying for more heat. I won't use the same amount of chilli you do but for sure more than what I had today. Thanks for yet another delicious recipe Marion.
*The Tiger cried because that delicious portion was just way too small.*
Wow I am loving this!!!
Ow I think I’m going to try this on a bao bun! I am getting so hungry just thinking about it!
This looks so delicious.. I'm in tears!
Haha I love you! That noise you make when you taste the dipping sauce 😂
Amazing recipe! I also roasted some sesame seeds and ground them along with the rice and it was amazing😍
i’m going to try this dish this weekend. thanks for sharing.
For context, I am utterly spoiled when it comes to delicious food. I am surrounded by and related to some of the best intrinsically talented cooks. But, this!!! Wow!!! New top of favorite list!!! Thank you for teaching us to make this. Taste bud heaven!!!
How am I just finding about Marion now?!?!!! That was awesome.
Thank you, this looks amazing. I am definitely going to try this.
In malay culture, the crying tiger beef refers to the softest part of the beef ribs. It's so soft & fatty that the tiger cries because soo delicious.
I love your recipes!!! Thank you so much.
Omg! I need that steak! Maybe not as spicy but I'm sure it's great! My stomach is grumbling, so hungry! 💕

The dipping sauce is mad I’m dead (also I added some grind Sichuan pepper) I can literally eat it with just rice for a whole year
Crying Tiger, Itching Dragon.
In the sequel, everyone has allergies. #canrelate

Did this without the tamarin sauce because I didnt have any, it was still fantastic! Trying it again tonight, this time WITH tamarin sauce, I expect cries of joy. Thank you Marion for this easy, quick but fantastic recipe!
I learned to make this sauce from my ex-wife, who was Thai. As I understand it, in Thai it is called "Nam Jim Jeaw" but I just call it "Super Sauce" because the flavors and the heat pretty much knock you on your ass. One of my all time favorites. Minus the dried chili flakes, even my 90 year old mother loves it! Thankfully, (for her) I can make a batch without chili and add it to mine when I serve it. My ex, by the way, is the one who turned me on to this channel. Marion looks a lot like her mother.
Made this was so good love yr work
Marion thanks for sharing the recipe. I am going to try it with beef filet maybe add little sesame oil. for the sauce i will add garlic because i love it
I'm gonna try your recipe this weekend

Made this last night. O.M.F’n.G it was amaaaaazing!!!!!!!
Marion, every episode you use that mortar and pestle, where is it from!? Its the perfect size. Can you give us some tips for purchasing one? What dimensions? And how do we know if it is of good quality? Thanks!
God its my fav sauce when i go Thailand. Its only found in Isaan cuisine restaurants there. They also use spring onions.Thx for the vid. Youbuse chilli flakes i believe. No?
If that is homemade dried chilli that will burn your nose haha, but the marinade and the sauce SOUND AMAZING!!! I just tried your pork bao recipe and it was good

Once again Marion. Brilliant
MARION!! This looks great and I can't wait to try it. What pan did you use to toast the rice? It looks like it could be a cast iron but can't tell. Thanks!
I really like that dip. Someone left a half bottle of that in our fridge and I’ve been using it as a dipping sauce for meat. It’s really good. I dunno where to buy it here but maybe I can try making it. Just have to find tamarind paste here.
Yummy awesome video as always! Thank you! 😋😋

I would love to try this out. 😍
Anyways, does anyone knows the title of the background music?

Made this for lunch today but i changed it to chicken since my mom cannot eat beef. It's very delicious and the dipping sauce is a win for me. I think coriander is a must in it since it bring out the flavour and my family can't stop eating it
Looks amazing will have to try
OMG the dipping sauce is off the chain, I haven’t started making dinner but I prepared the sauce and I’m marinating the steak … I just can’t stop tasting it. Hope there’s some left for the steak. Thanks 🙏🏽 PrettyLady
