Awesome! I taped this at the time, but one of the tapes has died, with Mossy on it! Have the rest of the national telecast still on those 20 year old tapes!

Guitarists why has mossy got the bridge pickup in his strat angled back instead of forward?

Michael it would change the tonal quality to give him a brighter low end sound and less twang on his higher strings, would open up a few options on the 5 way selector using it as a lead tone that would cut through a mix well without sounding pitchy- this is all an assumtuon based on my strat

It's a guitar nerd kind of thing. It goes back to Jimi Hendrix playing a right handed guitar flipped upside down so he could play it left handed. He also put the strings on in reverse order so the bass "E" string was still at the top and the high "E" string was at the bottom. This also meant that the bridge pickup was now angled back. Here's where the guitar nerd bit comes in...many of us right handed guitar players noticed this, and in the endless pursuit of tone, found a way to do this pickup configuration in mirror image, I guess in the hope it could bring us closer to the glorious Hendrix Marshall/Strat tone. Now days you can buy them off the rack with this set up.

I'll agree Mossy was a better singer but the person responsible for 99% of the hits was Walker
