  • Indian Lake Ohio has been a popular tourist designation for vacation, camping and fishing. This lake has a unique history starting from it's man made beginnings. Ohio's second largest lake located in Northwest Ohio that feeds and starts the Great Miami River. The Great Miami dumps into the Miami Erie Canal down by Dayton Ohio. The Miami Valley. During COVID, camping and/or fishing was the only thing you could really do so Indian Lake Ohio was a very hoppin place to be.
We live only 11 minutes from this very popular mud puddle. We kind of forget the history of this lake because all we see it as is a popular tourists spot in the summer. But this lake has been a very busy place since the mid 1800's. Transportation, reservoir, food, entertainment, so many things. Fishing and camping rule the lake and keep visitors flowing throughout the year.
This was our first time camping in 2023 due to car shows and mainly the cooler temps. We stayed at the state park like always and we plan on going back many times this year with a new addition to the family.

My husband and I took our kids to fish, and happened to pull into one of the parking areas between the Lakeview boat ramp and Old Field where you were in the process of filming. We probably totally ruined your shot! I noticed the sticker on the back of your car which led me to your page, and I subscribed that day. Neat to find a channel so close to home!

Your history is off a bit. The amusement park overall closed in the 1960s. In the early 1970s there were still kiddie rides operating, as I was a kid born in 1967. Truly an Ohio treasure it pulled in everyone from Toledo to Cincinnati. One thing that was cool was people would run through the fun house even though it was closed in the 1970s. From the bridge which has been redone it was wooden plank flooring and if I remember correctly red and blue.

Thanks for the correction. Honestly, I can't find a lot of information about the park and the history. It was this happening place for many years but there's not a lot of info on it beside the main highlights. The internet says basically the same thing as the metal info plaque at the base of the bridge. Not many pictures also. Honestly it was kind of a hard topic to research.
