  • Montana Elk HUNT 2022. Follow along as John and 3 of his buddies chase Elk in the Mountains of Western Montana for the 2nd week of Rifle Season! Last trip, 1 of 5 hunters sealed the deal on an elk. This year, we went 4 FOR 4!! This will likely be the most successful hunting trip of my lifetime. Hope you enjoy the video - it is to share the adventure.

    Great Hunt. I have hunted with those guys too. They are a great group of guys. Saw some of the pics around the shed and house and knew where you were hunting.

    Nice hunt John and congrats to all. By the way to you naysayers I don't know a outfitter that would ever garenttee you will even see a legal bull they are still wild and maybe a little less pressured than ones on public you still have to work for them.

    Nice video. You guys might want to consider aging that meat at least 14 days before cutting and packaging.

      That would be ideal. The way we were setup, we wouldn’t be able to keep the meat hanging or only quartered to age. I’ve had quite a bit of the elk since the hunt and is still delicious!!

    I live just below where you are hunting In Gardiner montana. Good job but rut was first week of October during archery. And if you come back up here I'll shoe you way more and better places

      @@johnsangl Jermery is like a brother to me. I had to give him some hell lmao. Good job on the Montana hunt. Thanks for supporting Montana through our wonderful conservation program in our beautiful state.I’m glad to see them expensive tags not be tag soup.if you decide to come back you should look at more areas of Montana. It’s all fun to explore this state I have grown up in. Congratulations on some prime elk meat.

    Big deal, hunting a private ranch. Tell us the price per hunter. Go do that on public land then you actually might impress us western hunters.

      @@johnsangl I thought your video and hunt was great, you guts had fun n made memories. There still eild elk just private land. Nothing wrong with that my guy! My dad n his buddies went 0 for 4 for there first time out for elk this fall, just like u guys did but very different results. Weather and timing is everything I guess

      @@briantrudell8248 Absolutely - you never know what the conditions are going to be - visibility, temperature, precip -- all of that makes a huge difference on any given trip.
