- Montana Elk HUNT 2022. Follow along as John and 3 of his buddies chase Elk in the Mountains of Western Montana for the 2nd week of Rifle Season! Last trip, 1 of 5 hunters sealed the deal on an elk. This year, we went 4 FOR 4!! This will likely be the most successful hunting trip of my lifetime. Hope you enjoy the video - it is to share the adventure.
The background views are spectacular! Especially as Joe is walking down to his bull.
Agree - amazing views every day! Each bull was higher & higher in the mountains - made for better & better views!
Four for four is just amazing when you are elk hunting!! Great job on some nice bulls as well!
Thanks! I still can’t believe how successful the trip was! I’m sure I’ll ever experience that kind of success again. I’m just happy when one of us connects.
@@johnsangl I can totally understand that!! I was blown away when my brother and I both scored on elk!! It’s happened twice and it’s such a great feeling!!
Steve Rinella has nothing on you😉 Great video!
Thanks Joe!
Great video! Congratulations on a great trip!
Thanks - unbelievable how successful it was!
Awesome John. Congrats to your hunting party. Now time for another video firing up the smoker with fresh elk meat.
I intend to do exactly that!
Fantastic hunt! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! It was an amazing week in and on the mountains!
Great Hunt. I have hunted with those guys too. They are a great group of guys. Saw some of the pics around the shed and house and knew where you were hunting.
Thanks - it was a dream hunt for all of us! Hope your hunt was a good one too.
Adventure of a lifetime , well done John !!
Thanks Dan! I agree - probably the most successful trip I’ll ever be a part of.
Well done video, I know the ranch and the outfitter, use to be a guide for him in my younger years nice photoes!
That’s cool! Lots of great people in Montana.
What Ranch/Outfitter?
I am so envious! Congratulation, now go do it with a bow. Thanks for bringing us along, my days of hunting are over, but watching you brings back the fond memories I once enjoyed. Who guided you?
I’d love to try it with a bow some day!

Nice hunt John and congrats to all. By the way to you naysayers I don't know a outfitter that would ever garenttee you will even see a legal bull they are still wild and maybe a little less pressured than ones on public you still have to work for them.
Facts, it's huntin not just killin people.
Thanks! I agree - no guarantees and best we’ve done before was 1/4.
What outfitter guide did you use?

Nice video. You guys might want to consider aging that meat at least 14 days before cutting and packaging.
That would be ideal. The way we were setup, we wouldn’t be able to keep the meat hanging or only quartered to age. I’ve had quite a bit of the elk since the hunt and is still delicious!!
I live just below where you are hunting In Gardiner montana. Good job but rut was first week of October during archery. And if you come back up here I'll shoe you way more and better places
Quit inviting out of staters Jeremy lol
That’d be an awesome hunt for sure!! Dustin - too late! The secret is out - haha
@@johnsangl Jermery is like a brother to me. I had to give him some hell lmao. Good job on the Montana hunt. Thanks for supporting Montana through our wonderful conservation program in our beautiful state.I’m glad to see them expensive tags not be tag soup.if you decide to come back you should look at more areas of Montana. It’s all fun to explore this state I have grown up in. Congratulations on some prime elk meat.
@@dustinwalker1006 Always to mess with your buddies - haha. Montana is a beautiful place for sure! I chased Mule Deer in Eastern MT in 2020. That was a great experience as well.
Great hunt! Would you care to mention the outfitter?
Thanks for watching! The outfitter / guides wanted to remain in the background on this one.
What is the name of the outfitter you used?
Outfitter requested to remain anonymous. Thanks for understanding.
Locals can't hunt animals all hazed for outftters
Wow.
Big deal, hunting a private ranch. Tell us the price per hunter. Go do that on public land then you actually might impress us western hunters.
It was a pretty big deal for me. I’m not trying to impress you. I’m just sharing my experience. You sound like a typical moron who doesn’t know anything about me and wants to talk big. Thanks for brightening my day with your positive comments.
@@johnsangl I thought your video and hunt was great, you guts had fun n made memories. There still eild elk just private land. Nothing wrong with that my guy! My dad n his buddies went 0 for 4 for there first time out for elk this fall, just like u guys did but very different results. Weather and timing is everything I guess
@@briantrudell8248 Absolutely - you never know what the conditions are going to be - visibility, temperature, precip -- all of that makes a huge difference on any given trip.
