Thanks for making this video! I am considering getting Transitions for the first time; and just learned that they are now at a Gen S! They supposedly transition a lot faster to clear than Gen 8s. I uses Progressive eyeglasses for small print, and can't wait to stop switching between using sunglasses when outdoors (but not being able to see my phones small print), and wearing my progressives outdoors and squinting when it's sunny. Very excited!

Does it get darker in colder conditions? Do they stay dark when it's bright but not in direct sunlight? I.e. under cloud or between buildings?

I didn't notice a difference in colder conditions. They definitely stay dark under cloud or between buildings but NOT in the car, they require UV light and car windows block most of the UV light.

I have gen 8 and I Love them. You can try a cool trick. Put your transitions lenses in the fridge, freezer, for 5 minutes, and then go outside in bright sunlight and see what happens! They ll get much darker and if you bring them inside they will stay dark more time.

Hey bud! Thanks so much for the review, its hard to find reviews on the Gen 8 Sapphire! I'm gonna throw these in some Oakley Holbrook's, how do you like these after a few months now? Did they change at all after 2 weeks? Thanks man!

What index you got, 1.67? I like the “mirror silver”, any advice should I take that?

They definitely don't look sapphire or close to blue. They look grey!

They look like the official purple color, I have seen the sapphire on other videos they don't look like this , then again could have been his editing, maybe his shirt is really purple and the glasses are really blue .. mystery of the universe

Do you have any additional anti-glare or anti-tint on them?

Hello....Glad that you love your lenses. However, as a couple of your commenters have said, they don't have a Sapphire color. Put a white sheet of material under your glasses when in the sun or under ultraviolet light as in the store for proof. You're so happy about the transitioning, that you've forgotten about the color you chose to match your frames. Personnaly I've purchased both Sapphire and Amethyst colors and they look Grey. They fooled me also. They put in the Grey tint to get them darker. Essilor has admitted that. It's a shame. I've tried to get my money back to no avail. They're fine if you want transitions, but not to coordinate with colorful frames. It's false advertising and they know it. To consumers everywhere, the Blues and Amethyst colors are not true as the samples even in your Optometrist stores. Purchase for the transitioning, not for color coordination. Gen 8....that simple.
