    If you frequently replace thermal paste on your CPU using stock cooler with plastic push pins mounting system, you may accidentally damage the locking tips. Don't worry! You can separately purchase really cheap replacement pins and repair your stock cooler like a brand new one!     The donor pins won't come out without breaking. The first step can only be done in the Open position. Then the white part has a protrusion that has to go through a notch in the black part. They line up in the Closed position.

    What tense music...anyway thanks for the video. When i changed termal paste those pins got broken...it was pain in the ass...

    I had to use a little saw to cut the end off the broken white pin. The mechanism was hopelessly stuck in my heat sink. To make matters worse, the new pins came assembled! So I had to separate the parts...cheap plastic...making them vulnerable to breakage and distortion. Thank you for this good help. Terrible design! Deeply flawed design.

      So many consumer items come together through push force instead of screws, and are never meant to be taken apart.
