Suddenly, I remember.
I slowly opened my eyes. Oh yeah, I took a nap right after dinner. It's December 24 1996. The air smells like Noche Buena. I can hear noises from the kitchen. It's my mom. She's prepping our table for our little Noche Buena. And to welcome Christmas Day, the birth of Jesus.
I walk past her, and I went straight to our Christmas tree. The Christmas lights are twinkling, and this sound is playing on loop. Hmm, there are boxes of presents under the tree which I've never seen before. It just got here. I wonder who's it for.
"Merry Christmas! From Ninang"
It's for me!
Then I hear my mom shouting from the kitchen. "Put that down! It's not Christmas yet!"
Then, I heard noises at our door. It's my cousins. They have sparklers on their hands.
"Come on! It's almost Christmas!" they said, and so I went out with them.
Outside, I see my uncles lighting up "Triangles" and throwing it off the streets. It exploded and the sound was so loud. My cousins and I took cover at our grandma's living room. We were covering our ears but we were lauging.
This is my bittersweet memory. The simpler days. They say, when you die you'll go back to the age where you were the happiest. I'm sure this is mine.

Pag narrinig ko to nagging kalma ung utak ko ,naalala ko tlga nung nangangarolling kami ,gnto ung tunog sa parol nila pati sa christmas tree ,kaya snabe ko sa sarili ko na kapag ako nagkapamilya ,ung bahay namin llagyan ko ng gntong christmas lights na may tunog .Tuwang tuwa ung anak ko pag nakakabit na ung mga ilaw at christmas tree namin hehe
ibang iba man ung pasko natin sa ngayon ,masaya naman ang mga bata sa era nila ,sguro dahil sa tumatanda na tayo kaya minsan di na natin naapreciate ung diwa ng christmas ,pero try mo tingnan ung ngiti ng mga bata ,at maaalala mo nung bata ka pa gnyan ka din kasaya ❤️
When i hear these sounds i remember when i was a kid looking outside and feel the essence of Christmas 🎄
My mom would set this up outside our house when its december. God i miss those times and her hugs. Rip mom, you will always be in my heart

The feeling when I was young, and having christmas tree with these lights with sounds always so charming. I always sit beside it, smelling the scent of the plastic tree, and just listening to the songs.
Some of my childhood mem'ries can be ugly, but there are still some moments that I really adore, including this simple moment.
Its year 2000 and I’m sitting at the door waiting for my aunt to come home from her work. She will bring simple food and I will be very happy. Life was so simple back then. I always comes back to listen to this coz it makes me cry. 😢
i'm sitting at my christmas tree in the dark at 3 am, everyone asleep but me. i know there's a nintendo 64 wrapped up in one of these boxes and i can't wait to play it
