About 12 years ago, I heard the Choir for the first time ever on Public Television. I had never heard any other choir as magnificent. I have been collecting the Ensemble's music on disk ever since. A few selections were found on the internet and were able to be downloaded from a free Russian website at the time ( which disappeared about 2003 or 2004), which were sung by the Choir a couple of years after it was first formed in the late 1930's--these songs were recorded in the very early 1940's! That was also my first introduction to the "crooning" tenor, Georgy Vinogradov, who was the Choir's soloist for several years. I found some of his music as well. To me, the Choir's music is the best there is. .

Lik a typical American, I cringe at the sight of men in military uniforms.However, once I could get over this feelings,I was able to immensely enjoy a spectacular show;featuring wonderful dance performances & magnificent renditions of classic Russian Songs.There was so much energy & vitality. Truly uplifting:It put a smile on my face.It has been a long time since I have seen anything half as good.I think if this was on TV everyday instead of the garbage we see, the world would be so much better
@preemptivestrike20 A bunch of old men marching in their worm-out uniforms in a Veteran's Day is one thing, but a parade featuring tanks and airplanes, Americans would be running for shelter. When they stationed National Guardsmen in the NY & NJ train stations, ridership went down so drastically, they had to stop. So if "Americans" do not cringe at the sight of military uniforms as you say, why did ridership go down?

@preemptivestrike20 a generality & my comment was meant to be a generality, too. 2nd of all, my comment stands: Americans think little of their army this is proven by the fact there are nearly 1 million homeless vets, mostly from the latest wars abroad. If Americans thought highly of soldiers, this would not be true. I may not agree with the imperialist wars the US is currently launching abroad which enriches war manufacturers & banks and impoverishes the nation both economically & morally;
