Can't state enough how good Tom's acting is in this scene. His eyes when he says, "I miss my wife," are filling with tears but not to the extent to which they come flooding out. He's trying to fight them back in the moment, which for me, makes this even more impactful. So good.

WITHOUT a doubt one of the MOST beautiful love scenes ever filmed. One of the prerequisites to a beautiful love scene is does it make you emotional. YES, this does every damn time I see it. OBVIOUSLY I'm not watching the movie every week BUT I probably could. The correlation from earlier in the movie with the mute couple with sign language and they shared you complete me as Rene could read sign language. Then at the end of tour movie here Jerry (Tom) tells her that you complete me 😢😭 Ball city. This scene is SO BELIEVABLE here 🤗

In this movie I believe. Google seems to agree with that.
"You had me at ____" is a common phrase meaning whatever that ____ is, that person liked that thing as soon as they heard it. It's used in this movie as her saying she loved him as soon as he said "hello" to her
What she meant was from the moment he entered and said hello, she was willing to take him back. So all the convincing words after were not necessary . She was ready to take him back, that's how much she missed him

How about a Jerry Maguire sequel? They did it for Top Gun.
Not every movie needs a sequel though, this one gets a happy ending let’s leave it at that. Not a forced sequel where the couple broke up off screen and over the course of the sequel figure out they still love each other and 10 minutes before the credits roll get back together. They’ve been begging for a Top Gun sequel since the movie was released, 12+ years of developing a storyline, 36 years of trying to get Tom Cruise on board. Top Gun: Maverick is like lightning in a bottle as far as sequels go since today in Hollywood you never get a sequel that’s as good if not better than the original

I've never understood that random line, (we live in a cynical world) "we work in a business of tough competitors." The placement is just all wrong. It should've come right after or before "we had a big night." Not somewhere after expressing the romantic lines. Or it shoud've been excluded altogether. Am I the only one?
