addicted to this music!!!!
Brian used to play all the little bars around the university in Edmonton - early 80's. We knew very well how lucky we were to be seeing him for just the cost of a few beers. It's wonderful seeing him again in these RUclips videos.
I could listen to this all night.
Well said!!
All day, as well
Brian is such a pleasure to listen to along with a tight band. His music touches you with such depth. I've been lucky enough to see him 2x live when he tours with Loreena Mckennitt. Would love to see him live in this format with his band!
a total star in the Jazz music scene, one amazing artist.
Simply, no words to express Brian Hughes talent. Amazing.
If I may, I would at least say he is a master of sweet melodic phrasing. No frivolous note choices, he's all on the money from start to end.
I recall seeing Brian in Edmonton in the 80's. He never ceased to amaze me.
I remember listening to Brian’s tunes on the weather channel back in the day. Just a phenomenal guitarist
Do you remember his tracks on the weather channel? If so, name them. I'm trying to find his cds . Thanks a bunch.
@@silversurfer647 I do remember some of his tracks. They are: Stringbean, one to one, and to beauty, brighter day, and wherever you are. Those are all I know
I like this guy, he"s so fantastic! A great guitarrist !
My Heart was placed in shambles from this artistic work, encore!
Saw him tonight with Loreena Mckinnit - fabulous!
The drummer handled his business. Damn this is good.
Awesome song and what a stunning sound from that Gibson hollow-body. Beautiful.
One of the best guitarists ever
I saw him in San Francisco a few years back great performance.
love this tune...been lookin for it for the longest time
Thanks for posting this great relaxing music. It is from another higher level. Thanks again skidooCU.
Awesome performance each & everyone!!🙌🏾🙌🏾
He's going on my Excellent List and thanks for video. We shouldn't compare artists cause each one has there on unique style.
Brian is the best Guitarist and the very underrated, too. I wrote him a Mail on his Webside- and he anwered the next day. He is so human. A very very fine Man with a unbelivible Talent
I can listen for hours
Awesome ensemble!! Great.
I used to see Brian and his trio back in the day playing the bars and restaurants in Edmonton. That was in the late 70's and early 80's. That was a great era in Edmonton with the Palm's Cafe, Boiler Lounge, Sidetrack Cafe, etc. always having live jazz.
Brian Hughes stuff is my rain music.
I love this tune. It reminds me of Monterey/Pacific Grove walking around on a cool day.
Très bon groupe et bonne musique ... merci !
Great Song

You're right Rick,
both are extremly talented artist.
SWEET THANKS.........
It is inevitable to compare with Pat Metheny ... very good song, excellent guitarist Brian Hughes!
Santyago, I was thinking the very same thing - his style is very reminiscent of Metheny! First time hearing this piece - love it!
Excuse me... Professor Metheny, to y'all. Thank you.
@@BolitaDeKetica Especially at the time with Pedro Aznar
Chuck Loeb is up there too.
Larry Carlton or russ freeman. They are all great. Like an acoustic alchemy vibe
such great musicians,great song!
When did pat metheny get so old?
As a millennial that grew up on pat metheny the first time I heard Brian through a friend I thought it was an old unreleased song of pat metheny. :) good job Brian. :)
Pat and Brian are about the same age - Hughes was born in '56, whereas Metheny was born in '55. Both in their mid 60's!
HEAVY DUTY .... OH My GOSH 😱👌🏾💯‼️
Brian is really good. I enjoy this track immensely.
VERY nice, smooth piece!
Excellent musicians, excellent music, unfortunately little known in Europe
A dedication to Last train home?
Love it!
I love how different his own music is to Loreena's. Great musician!
Thank-you SkidooCU for posting these videos of Brian Hughes, I am new fan of his and his music is playing constantly in my car, it just lifts my spirits. Trying to learn his Blanket of Stars on my electric guitar. I would love to see him and Eric Johnson play or make some music together. Thanks again :-)
Very nice performance!
Does anybody know the brand of effects pedal he uses when backing Loreena ? The sound is haunting , he uses in Caravaserai and All Souls Night. It has an almost swelling effect! Thank you !
awesome!!!!!
Brian and & Pat are HeaD2Head!
💛
amzing
BRIAN HIGHES IS FNE PLAYING GOOD MUSIC
At 58-59 was a miss noted..but he handle it..nicely.
Es inevitable compararlo con Pat Metheny... muy buen tema musical, excelente guitarrista Brian Hughes!
I do not where to begin. WOW. A little more Benson than Montgomery. A tribute to both phenoms, but Brian is a killer.
Pat Metheny?.the sound, the guitar, nothing more.
Schade, dass Du nicht mehr im LiveProberaum filmst....aber auch besser! keine Perlen vor die S....! YEAH!
in allen Ebenen:-)
...and WHOM might tha [5 ]Moorrrrooons who voted against this piece be...?

great 6/8 attack
take a look at the newest video from me Soul fruit , that anothe cool piece of music and spread the word of mouth about Brian Hughes and maybe if you like about my video channel KR Wolfgang
The only disappointment in this production is the underwhelming, polite applause at song's end. The audience reacts as if Brian just tapped in for par.
i gave Pat Matheny TOO MUCH credit... Welcome Brian
+Raina Young
No you didn't. Pat is meteoric( very fast and accurate fret work) on guitar. Brian plays very much in the Pat Metheny Style. Both are Exellent :)
No te equivocaste con Pat....
