      @@nibelheimdefender8373 GTA6 is running on console exclusively for the first year. Sounds more like an optimization issue of the engine itself.

    OK, now make games without stuttering.

    • @MinecraftLD10
      @MinecraftLD10 27 дней назад +12

      That's on the developers to optimize their games using the tools available in UE, not on EG, the engine itself can be very optimized if developers do their job right.

      @@MinecraftLD10 Oh, I see a lot of this in Fortnite.

    • @MinecraftLD10
      @MinecraftLD10 27 дней назад +4

      @@canalframerate Stuttering can be any number of factors from hardware, to connection, to say a player island's level makeup ( as in how did they put it together and what is running in it ), so I would not blame the engine immediately, although shader compliation is not perfect yet either in UE5's current system of materials, but UE5.4 rectified that with the Substrate materials system.

    • @canalframerate
      @canalframerate 27 дней назад +2

      @@MinecraftLD10 So many games having problems in UE4 and you think Epic doesn't have some responsibility for this? From what I've heard, the engine doesn't seem to make it very easy when it comes to compiling shaders, the documentation is extremely limited and the best optimized games are those made in extremely customized UE versions.

    • @MinecraftLD10
      @MinecraftLD10 27 дней назад +2

      @@canalframerate They have a responsibility for the engine, I am not denying that, but developers have a responsibility all the same, and their are actually a few ways to have your shaders compile, all with different pros and cons, but it isn't just the compiling of shaders that matter ( although Substrate fixes this somewhat by making the calculations modular instead of monolothic. ), but the shaders themselves built, which can often be made more efficient, although that requires time, which is on the publisher to give. Also the documentation is actually very in depth, that is one thing I will very much correct on as someone who uses UE documentation and source code extensively.
      Now on the topic of using a fork of the engine for your own custom version, it depends, UE3 game developers did this heavily yes, but UE4 games less so, and only when components did not exist in the version used that did exist in later versions, multiplayer elements being the big one during early UE4 revisions, fixed and improved upon in later revisions. For UE5, you do not really need a custom version unless you need extra tools and plugins that you can't simply make work as a plugin to a base version, or you need different calculations or extra modules as part of your toolset.
      For example, if you want PhysX as part of your engine variant, which was in earlier versions of UE, but replaced with a native implementation of physics in later versions, specifically during the UE4 era. I have been told a studio is trying to integrate PhysX, the newest implementations of it anyway, into their variant of UE5 right now, as they want PhysX physics and not the native implementation, probably not for negative reasons, just that PhysX had features that they needed over the native one.
      Either way, I would not blame Epic as much, they do quite a large deal of work to help those using UE, down to even helping some studios make tools and variants of the engine even if needed, and working with studios even to develop new tools and engine features even, as occured with the features of 5.4, and a future 5.5 release.

    So far UE5 seems to be making the engine perform better, be lighter, and make new features easier and more convenient for devs. Hope to see better stuff moving forward, this looks great.

      #NintendoNEXUS I hope the next Nintendo console is resembles the Nintendo 64 with FD add ON "except" it has a High Dynamic Range Disk player to play games and movies. Also a special slot for a cartidge area for Static Read Write Cartridge for optional special games. An SD Card reader. A System Expansion Port. 4 controller ports. System specs greater then Xbox X. Someone make a mok up of the old NINTENDO64 WITH Floppy Disc add on and make it look amazing! Controllers should have those center touch pads, maybe even with a touch screen instead since their cheap to make these days. They should call it the Nintendo NEXUS. Love the name of it... sounds nice and reminds me of social inclusion. Let Nintendo Switch remain as superior handheld selling side by side. The next Nintendo counsole should make us all feel like gaming went into the future and does things never done before. #FUTUREGAMING Something truly nex gen game shattering.
