Hi Chris , if you havent checked out Cafe de Fishermans in Fishermans village yet then i'd highly recommend popping along there for breakfast / lunch / dinner . Fantastic food / coffee / enviroment served up by the nice and friendly owners Paul & Nat
Chris. We visited Koh Samui 33 years ago on our honeymoon. Dreaming of the time we could visit again. We recently retired and planned a 5-week visit to the island. Addicted to your videos which helped in many ways with our decisions on locations to stay. A lot has changed in 33 years ! we had a lovely time in the Bangrak, fisherman's village and Choeng Mon areas on the Island. Thanks for all your helpful information.
Hey Chris we’re gonna be in Samui in January and we fully intend to get tattoos at crush ink. We decided after your first video showing your friend opening a new shop that we were going to support him. It would be really great to meet you while we’re there, my wife and I have been making our plan to retire in Thailand and you have been there all the way.
lol, you really had me wondering with the description of the first sausage and then I worked out you were saying 'Emmental'. Rather than 'amental', the pronunciation in English is 'Ehmentahl'. Chris, great video as always. Made even more special as I spent many years in Germany as man and child, and enjoyed untold number of bratwursts. My brother's favourite was curry wurst, actually created as a result of British Troops and a throw back to India and a love of curry. It was created when tomato ketchup was mixed with curry powder from British troops.
Foxtrot Bistro is excellent, you have to go back! Also, don't sleep on Kaps Burgers and bbq ribs. Super sweet people run the place and the attention to detail is second to none. Great video!
11:08 WHATTTTT?? Sea buffalo? He is just chilling in the sea?? 💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖😍 13:00 My intuition is right! I thought Anna must have the flower or lotus tattoo. And voila! She did!
We got a 30 day on arrival, then a 30 day tourist visa, then a 60 day extension, then another 60 day extension. We left in April. We found the Koh Samui office to be pretty efficient also. Cheers.
Hi! My husband and I are leaving for Thailand tomorrow! He's French, so we'll have to watch his spice level (or lack there of), but I'm curious about food poisioning. I've read several articles and I know it's a bit of a Russian Roulette. I love Thai food SO MUCH, so I would hate to limit myself to the resort alone. Love your videos!
@Rebecca Taras We go to Thailand every year to visit family and I get food poisoning every single time. I am okay when eating at restaurants but street food and even in the mall gets me sick. People don’t wash their hands or have running water to wash the dishes well. They touch money and pick up food with their hands to serve you. My advice is the first few days you should consume only mild or no spicy food and stick with cooked vegetables and food at restaurants.
I have probably spent 1000 days in Thailand in my life and you can count on one hand the number of times I have gotten sick. And it only lasts a day. Relax, enjoy and experience it all. Street food is great.
Have had about 5 or 6 trips to Thailand, totalling about 4 or 5 months. Regularly ate streetfood and only think I got food poisoning once, though had severe heatstroke at the same time so can't be 100% sure. The street vendors are there every single day. If they were to serve bad food, then they wouldn't be in business very long. Even street 'restaurants' with large selections of seafood, will be fresh caught that day, and on ice, and I've had my weight in king prawns, oysters, various fish, and never had any issues. Be bold, and you will get the most out of your trip. Enjoy.
Personal experience…. Been in Bangkok 9 weeks . Got sick two different times that required Cipro to cure. Honestly , I think the first time was from Taco Bell 😂. Second time was a seafood buffet where the food was left out without refrigeration and you cooked at the table. I think my mistake was eating the cooked food with the same utensils I used on the raw food. I’m very adventurous and eat street food all the time. Btw I got food poisoning in France and was sick for two weeks. Lost 20 pounds. Saw three different doctors before they gave me something that cured me. 😂 Still don’t really know what it was🤷🏻♂️
Leaving for a 2 weeks holiday in Thailand with a friend on June 10th. Where to go in this season: Better Koh Chang or Koh Samui/Koh Pangan from a weather and tourist? We know it will be quiet but hopefully not dead in the evenings.
Neither place is going to have sun shine all day everyday this time of year. I was in Samui all last week and it was super quiet even at night. Chaweng, Fisherman’s Village, and Lamai were like ghost towns. I’d go to Koh Chang. You get more for your money and the people are much more friendly from my experience.
What Anne had was a free visa exemption allowing a 30-day stay, not a visa on arrival which is something else entirely and does not apply to Canadians. The 30-day extension that she got has always been available for 1900 baht and has nothing to do with Covid. The Covid extension was for those who’d already gotten their one allowed extension and needed to stay longer because of problems travelling during the pandemic. It’s probably going to be withdrawn soon.
you da man rwry .. bruh ... cant believe that .. you introd that shop and owner way back .. then you brought your real pretty daughter .. to get a tat ? at your mboyz spot .. well .. how cool is that ? canadian chris .. we got our eye on u over here in orlando fl .. lotta peeps read y to follow your lead !!
If you get the chance to go to Foxtrot, say hello to Helen. The food is great as is the service. I can definately recommend the Spareribs and the Tacos. Great taste!
Hey Chris, coming for 1 month, I'm a solo dude. Trying to decide between Lamai and FIsherman's Village. I do like things to be open late so leaning Lamai but it is tad isolated. Is there much of a nightlife up north? Thanks!

Hey Chris, If you have yet to get your first ink, maybe you should follow your daughter's lead :o) At a certain age (I turn 50 today) there are some things in life that should be on your bucket list, and I think a tattoo should be one of them. You appear to be a Thai expert but question how much a visa exiting will be. I can assure you all extensions are 1900 Thai baht unless the applicant try’s to grease the wheels so to speak. And one other thing I can assure you of is when a man or woman goes to an immigration office in Thailand they should always cover there shoulders and knees with clothing
