The valves do need to be adjusted, I adjusted mine about 5 times since I owned it, I do some hillclimbing with it, the more a quad is run hard, the more the valves have to be adjusted, An owner of an ATV shop told me that. My KFX700 was popping on deceleration too so I adjusted the valves and the problem went away. The KFX engine is weird with the valves, they get tight rather than get loose, its backward in a sense and causes the engine to lose compression.
I got same issue but it didn't happen until I put new carb on. But I been riding it for awhile and it runs good but I feel maybe I'm loosing power from it.. imma have to check my needle seat and go thru it.
So my brute force 750 Kawasaki has a problem any help it’s backfiring and it’s like it will run but it won’t go like it’s should when I press the gas real hard it will stutter and slow it’s self down
Use Star Tron for sure if you can't find non-ethanol fuel where you're at. I don't think the fuel system cleaner is going to do much with non-injected engine. The KFX 700 factory repair manual says it can handle up to 10% ethanol, 87 octane, but I'd stick with non-ethanol if possible. The guy on Project Farm channel did a test with Sta-bil blended into ethanol fuel (sitting in jar for close to a year) with a chunk of aluminum immersed and it still corroded and pitted the metal. Never leave fuel sitting in the carb for long periods of time and allow it to evaporate; especially with ethanol fuel. It just leaves vanish and junk that you'll have to clean out later on. Drain it out of the carbs or shut off the fuel and run it out at the end of the season. If that's too much hassle, start it up every few weeks, to keep fuel flowing through the system.
I don't know if I have a problem with my KFX 700, because I have a dilemma with the carburetor or whether the revs are too high when it is in gear and moving slowly forward. Should I adjust the idle throttle lower? What do you think?
I remember my first atv lol was a 04 kfx and man that baby turbo twin cam sound used to hall ass felt like I was on a jet ski with nitros it was so fast and smooth lol
You have hmf pipes Ike me and they make that sounds when I'm decelerating too, it also back fires some times but I'm not too worried about it but check out my walk around because it does backfire in that vid,but nice quad anyways
I have the same exact bike , and it’s backfiring when i am wide open on throttle and sometimes during deceleration . i’ve cleaned carb multiple times and had someone look at it . I was told to try the gas flow it did make some improvements but it still has that popping sound . Have u figured anything else out about your bike?
BigjermsGarage is it bad for you bike to pop like that? Mine does same thing but really don’t want to clean the carbs because there such a tight bike to work on
If it pops, put choke on.... if it goes away then it is carb related. You can also increase 1 size on pilot jets. It never hurts to adjust the valves, run fuel treatment in the gas since todays gas is horrible. I cleaned my carb got the backfire.... and didn't have this issues while there was mouse shit in my air box. Carv slides can oxidize and stick so if they look bad sand up to 400 grit and polish them with a dermal.
hey @bigjermsgarage I have a question about my kawasaki prairie 360 so it starts up but when u try to drive it it either bogs out or tops out at 5 mph do u have any input?
Thanks for watching. The best part of youtube is that I can record and talk about whatever I want. I have over 50 other videos of that quad running and being ridden if you want to see it. Thanks again.

I legit came to this vid bc I want my quad to do that
I legit came hear to find out how to make mine do it louder mine does it and pops 2 to 3 inch flames
You can burn your valves by mixing all them fuel addictives.
@rdmphd2 the exhaust was on the atv when i bought it. The previous owner adjusted the jets.
@monsterchevy1975 thanks, no popping since the carb cleaning, I will keep the valves in mind when it happens again.
@KThachPSN stock is a black plastic dash, this one is aftwrmarket.
Is that the stock dash? (the nice aluminum handle bar stem with indicator lights and key hole)

So what’s wrong with the poping noise?

How to fix the grinding noise on it
My Kawasaki Mojave 250 starts up but them make a loud as crap squeaking noise then cuts off
where did you buy that aluminum handle bar stem
How do I make my quad bike back fire
It's not backfiring. That's the reverse rev limiter.
Have any performance parts????? For kFX700? No kinda parts? Motor? Any tips of things u can do 2 make them faster? Wat all u had did to your kfx?
@bafffers766 elkas on the front, stock on the rear. it was like that when i bought it.
They still seem to go for about the same price.
wow how much do you think it is now?

i just cleaned the carburetor... it still backfires what am i doing wrong
Pillot jet is 2 small go up a size
You got Elkas on that?
@Runescapian1996 no overdrive or turbo
when you put the exhaust on it...did you go up on the jets?
Does it goes good with elka shocks in jumps???
Oh where did you get it because I can't find the exact one for the kfx 700 anywhere
How much did the quad cost?
Does that have a CVT transmission?
What kind of bard do you have?
So u want to me adjust my valves
The valves are all adjustet, i change the carbs and the Problem Is still there, but not so heavy like bevore with the old carbs.
Maybe i have to clean the carbs with compressed air?
Get a bigger jet in your carb and tune it problem solved. And a dirty carb don't make it backfire.
+Tyriques17 if the carb is dirty it could cause it to run lean causing a backfire. true story, just went through it.
Appreciate your videos! My quad is having the same issues...
No problem since cleaning the carburetor and that was about 2 years ago.
BigjermsGarage is it bad for you bike to pop like that? Mine does same thing but really don’t want to clean the carbs because there such a tight bike to work on
At 3.48 its sounds like a v8 small block😊

sounds like carb issues. when it's only doing 5mph is the motor trying to cutoff or reving high?
I have a Kawasaki kfx 450r and it pops and loses power when riding.help
Bryant 002 did you fix it?
Well did you
You fix it mate
I already had my carborator clean and it's still making that noise
If so check your valves
Desean White air to fuel ratio can cause it too
that sounds like a v8
Dude that's an awesome place where you live
You only had a vacuum leak
my kfx 400 sounds like a shot gun when go down a hill and it scares people
I clean my carbs 3 times, but the KFX 700 have still the backfire
If it's not your carburetor I would then look at the valves.
valves are OK
If not valves or carburetor, could be about to jump time
Thanks for watching. The best part of youtube is that I can record and talk about whatever I want. I have over 50 other videos of that quad running and being ridden if you want to see it. Thanks again.
@ArmorxTalon96 check some of my more recent videos. I cleaned the carbs and the backfiring stopped. thanks for watching.
my be running lean
It's running to rich adjust your carb
Yes
Reg gas? Nah man 93 all day every day
I bought it in March 2011 for $3000
Does this ATV have overdrive? Like a turbo or something?
Dude that's an awesome place where you live
