Leatherman Skeletool Review & Fix

- I saw a friends pic of the Skeletool and started researching and looking at the different styles and I bought this one because it looks great. But after it arrived, I found out that it has some issues that I needed to take care of. So here's the tool and the quick fix that I did.

Good video! I juts got mine in the exact color and I thought something was wrong with it lol. I am immediately gonna oil it
On my Skeletool CX, the bit locks in both directions, and the Phillips bit fits fine in the handle storage. You might want to call Leatherman to ask about it. Yours might have an issue.

just got mine sir...and im already loving it! i chose the lime green easy to find😊.
Love that color scheme!!! Mine is just plain stainess but I love it. I have to say that both screwdriver blades fit in the handle on mine, & both lock into their place to be used with either the large or small end in place to use. Also while nor rounded, the thumb slot in mine doesnt take any skin off my thumb when I use it. Never notced a rough edge on the rivets until you mentioned it but it is there. All said I think I will be ordering a new one for a backup in the color Scheme you have!

I took my pocket clip off 2 days after I got it when I almost lost it when it fell out of my pocket. The carabiner is amazing and I have no idea why anyone would have an issue with it
I don't have belt loops, so the carabiner isn't needed for me. It fits right in my pocket perfectly. It sits in the longer leg pocket of my overalls. I don't use the clip either. It's a great little tool 🤠🍻👍

If the bits don’t lock in all configurations you need to return it. I returned my first one for this issue, got a replacement, and both bits locked in all configurations.

I have had my skeketool for many years...my bits lock in either direction & both fit just fine in the storage part of the handle.
My Philips bit goes both ways and I think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Might be worth checking if there’s gunk or if it’s a manufacturing defect!
It's a defect in the bits, the cuts weren't centered... an easy fix.
Take that dremel and cut the carabiner off. Buy the double sided bit and only carry one. You wont regret it. There is a few videos on here where people have cut them down.
How old is your Skeletool? i've got one of the first ones- Black with Serrated blade and dont have any little niggles. the screwdriver bits lock in place boths ways (both of them) and the blade has a slight chamfer on the cutouts also.
It's new, I've had it a bit over a week new.
ahh, issues on the newer ones then. They're great bits of kit.
How well does it carry in the pocket ? Does it seem bigger than a medium size pocket knife or feel about the same ?
I clip it on the top of my pocket and forget that it's there. It's really comfortable
Listening to you complain about your hands. I just want you to know these tools were made for men. You may want to stick to knitting!
