I have had the Z fold 6 for 4 days now and it really does last, I usually finish the day on 35-40%, as a comparison I never managed to get a full day out of my Pixel Pro 7 even when brand new.

Unfortunately, every time, my excitement grew a huge frustration due to its candy like folded design and poor battery life. Back then, there weren't many alternatives when it came down to foldables. But this time, I didn't make the same mistake again. I bought the mighty Vivo X fold 3 pro. Mate, i tell you it's a beast! When you hold X fold 3 pro as folded in your palm, it's a joy and feels like a proper phone with no sacrifice! Don't get me wrong, I use an S24 ultra as my primary phone and daily driver, which I love most. Unfortunately, Samsung foldables aren't growing much nowadays. Other brands are listening to their customers and went ahead of Samsung. If you're thinking of getting a foldable, Vivo X fold 3 pro could be your first choice!
@@cherochow I have a OnePlus 12 alongside my open, partially because I don't like being stuck on one phone for too long, and partially because I want to have something I can fall back on in case something happens to my OnePlus open, entirely unnecessary for most people, but I'm not the most careful person 😅
@@Cestpasfaux-v4x no issues with notifications for me. I don't use android auto on any of my devices so it doesn't bother me. Love the screen and it's very smooth and battery lasts forever!
I’ve always loved Samsung as it was my first phone I had an s4 which till this day I still miss because of how beautiful it was. Switched to Apple around 7 years ago and now finally I’m going to Samsung with the fold 6 and I don’t care about the other phones advantages fold6 is just visually pleasing which isn’t the only thing I went for.
Was holding out for this review but went with the z fold 6 and dont regret it despite the vivo advantages....it feels like a more saleable second hand unit which to me.was quite important

I use dex quiet a lot with the S21ultra and the tab s9 ultra also it's an amazing feature that has completely taken the desktop need away from me. There is an app for everything I might need and they work flawlessly every time

The problem I have is that you review all these great handsets. Not many of us can afford to buy them outright. The UK networks don't seem interested in any brands other than Apple, Samsung, and Google. So we are just looking at phones which we can never have.
Writing this from a Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. Gambled for my wallets sale and went for the far cheaper Origin os version (~$1,350), and for the most part works fine. Telegram has some issues and Google tasks just flat out won't work. However Fitbit and my Fitbit smartwatch works just fine. And MY GOD it's power is amazing fo emulation!! Switch emulation is the best it's ever been on mobile, BOTW running at a smooth 30FPS on Yuzu ✨😁✨
I have the vivo xfold3 pro, my wife the same in 'standard'. Amazing phones. We bought them back in may and did never regret. My focus is on the camera setup. It's amazing. Beats all I did with SLRs before
@@JDF22 I have the pro, my wife the standard. From spec sheet there should be a big gap in zoom, but I almost never do zoom, my focus is on portraits. My wife did really nice ones as well. We never compared 1:1 so it is hard to say. Both seem to be quite good.
The only cons on the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro compared to the Galaxy Fold 6 are : 1. Subpar Haptic Feedback 2. Subpar Speakers Overall a fantastic and worthy product compared to the other foldables on the global market.

Samsung's display calibration is more contrasty even for Natural mode when compared to Vivo ... But Vivo trumps with Dolby Vision support and higher HDR brightness under certain conditions. But however, my general comment was in terms of hardware only. Samsung definitely has the software edge and stylus support

It has a few advantages the vivo it you like a bigger front screen (not everyone does) cams are a little better but really the samsung software pretty much picks up the slack and makes the pics fine. Samsung Spen is better also.
Chinese foldables are unreliable in all aspects... Terrible software, Missing features, No software updates or security updates, terrible build quality, terrible repair support, etc... But they look beautiful.
Samsung has remained stagnant for many years, while its Chinese counterparts have demonstrated significant innovation. Currently, their focus on AI may not resonate with a large segment of consumers.
Just a reminder that Samsung spent a huge amount of R&D to develop the flexible OLED display only for the tech to be leaked to Chinese manufacturers. (AKA Boe) So yeah, sure they're the innovative ones...
Chiese companies like Vivo and Xiaomi are leaving Sammy in the dust. Their battery tech is leaps ahead of Samsung. They are also competitive in camera and value as well.
Yeah, no foreign patent protection so they are great copiers. Don't get me wrong, sometimes what they do improves, but it's easy or easier to stand on the shoulders of giants who actually invest and have done since GSM/2g in research and development. 😊

I'm using samsung's foldable since flip3, then fold4. Now i switched to vivo's. It's been great but bit lack in UI. Overall it's a great competitor from china
Another great comparison/review! Looking forward for the Honor Magic V3 I'm currently rocking the Oppo Find N2, and while I love the screen size and software it is a hit on the chunky side.
Oppo is actually a bit thinner & not have wireless charging. Oppo not a challenger, but next year they will be. Honor is but some say not as good software. It would be very interesting.
I love my z fold 6, I don't understand, does everything I wanted it to do, plus I love Samsungs ecosystem. All the little advantages the other phones aren't a big deal at all.
The only thing worth praising on the Z Fold 6 is Dex. In everything else, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro wipes the floor with the Z Fold 6 and I say that as a Samsung fan. Don't blindly praise TM Roh's stupid cost-cutting decisions. You're part of the problem.

The main reason i would want a large second screen is for media consumption, but the internal screen is basically square... i don't really see the appeal of foldables, and most people i know that have them seem to mainly use them folded.

Love my Vivo Fold 3 Pro global version. It runs great on the AT&T service here in the USA. You can actually use the front screen unlike my old Samsung Fold 4. The Samsung does have the best software, but I wanted a bigger front screen.

The things that make me go away from these phones are the lack of reliable aftersales support, bloatware, future updates, and lack of apps compatibility specifically banking apps which I use daily.
The only place where it doesn't beat is on the preorder bonus/ price. A mate of mine got this Z Fold 6 512 + Buds 3 Pro for $1700 AUD, which is around $800 AUD lower than what it would take to import a Vivo X Fold 3 Pro 512 :/
Samsung needs to make the foldable with the same cover screen size as the s24u. Slim it down a bit and I'm sold. I have a zfold 3 and after that initial honey moon stage with a foldable I hate the cover candy bar screen.

It is not about just the phone. It is about the eco system that these other companies like Vivo just can’t stand up against. There is the watch, the buds, the phone, the appliances. The phone does not have to be the best all around cause when paired with the other connections it is just not beaten. If it is just the phone for you then yes there are better ones. But for most people it is not just the phone they consider.
But how do both these phone compare to the oneplus open which as of every review I've watch say it's the best foldable phone available thanks for all the great videos 👊
You should know the OnePlus Open has more narrow outer screen and no wireless charging, so won't be a challenger until next model early next year. It's probably still a better choice over Samsung.
I live in Southern CA and am on T-Mobile. Ive had every Samsung fold (including having had the 5 for the last year). But when the Zfold6 came out and was basically no wider, last week I got the Vivo Fold 3 Pro (Global Edition) and wish I'd had it instead of the Zfold. But definitely don't get Vivo(/Xiomi) 'Chinese' version. It force opens websites up in their browser (which can cause some hurdles) and the swipe-right function to see the latest news takes you to Chinese language/news. But get the Vivo Fold '3'... Not the 4 bc there's no Global version with the 4.
As anyone seen any durability test on the vivo x fold 3 pro. (how many folds can it do without breaking) what if the vivo fold 3 needs to be repaired. Who or what country would i need to send it back to. What about the vivo x fold 3 pro software.. All the vivo fold 3 pro notifications dont work. Samsung as got 6 years experience in making a foldable phone, even though they definately need to start making some major changes and giving customers exactly what they want, such as a bigger fron screen , bigger battery and better cameras etc
People are talking as if every single folding device so far from samsung hasnt had major durability issues with long term use in terms of the crease. Idgaf what they say, almost everyone thats used them for a year or two daily, reports noticeable damage along the crease. Not only that but samsing doesnt make it easy at all to get that repaired for free
can vivo phones change background blur after a portrait shots are made? lack of that feature on Honor flagships is driving me crazy...makes portrait shots useless, since if the focus/blur is not right, the photo is ruined forever.

I have an S23 Ultra, and I absolutely HATE all the Samsung AI features Samsung keeps trying to push me to use! Not having those is actually a huge plus, in my opinion.
@manorboy3113 It is doing exactly that! Every week or so I keep getting notifications in the notification bar to "check out these new AI features!" from Samsung.
These other foldables are good, but the only time they get attention is when you mention them alongside the Z. They have to be good enough to stand on their own. That goes deeper than the spec sheet.
It's because the samsung is a world wide launch and all the other brands are way more in asia launches and so the samsung is seens as the standard but it doesn't mean the others are worse or not good on there own

Generally Z fold 6 Better Software can't be beaten I don't care about cameras that's why I have my s24 Ultra Me, generally I don't have good experience with Chinese brands like Vivo. I had an Iqoo 12 and didn't like it. Then switched to the s24 Ultra and noticed some things that destroyed the Iqoo. Don't get me wrong. The Vivo is waaaay better in most aspects. I only prefer Samsung because I'm Already in Samsung's ecosystem. I'll probably get the z fold 6 Because the networks I'm using dosent have the best connection compared to Samsung. I could get the pixel but performance, well that's sh*t, tensor G4 is equivalent to the nothing phone 2 (Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1) What do you guys think
Both phone have an excellent build quality but I care more about overall software and customer service experience. How long does Vivo support their fold and how quickly can I get a fold fixed from them is the real question.

It's no comparison between these two..vivo wins hands down in camera, battery , weight and almost all except software where vivo doesnt lag far behind. A power user knows how useful a fast 100 W charger with big battery is.
Let's be honest - who's gonna rock a folding phone for seven years? Nobody. These are expensive toys for enthusiasts and the maximum time you'll be using it is 3 years, after that you'll just upgrade to the latest and greatest, cause you won't be able to fight the urge. So Vivo is allright
ip48 isn't much superior than x8 because that just means it is protected against 1mm particles. and how tightly modern phones are made i don't think any would fail this at all
Most of these devices are not available in US. One of the reasons samsung has not felt the need of rushing in the states maybe by z fold 8 or 9 the outer display will be 6.5"

Chiese companies like Vivo and Xiaomi are leaving Sammy in the dust. Their battery tech is leaps ahead of Samsung. They are also competitive in camera and value as well.
Yeah, no foreign patent protection so they are great copiers. Don't get me wrong, sometimes what they do improves, but it's easy or easier to stand on the shoulders of giants who actually invest and have done since GSM/2g in research and development. 😊

But Daddy Ttump had to come in and ruin it. Still, thanks to him now that it made China intensify their distancing from western tech. As shown by not being affected with Crowdstrike and Huaweo having a multiplatform non Android OS soon.
Their longevity isn't as good as Samsung. Let's see in 3 years from now with quality and better drain issues.

I'm using samsung's foldable since flip3, then fold4. Now i switched to vivo's. It's been great but bit lack in UI. Overall it's a great competitor from china

Oppo is actually a bit thinner & not have wireless charging. Oppo not a challenger, but next year they will be.
Honor is but some say not as good software. It would be very interesting.
I love my z fold 6, I don't understand, does everything I wanted it to do, plus I love Samsungs ecosystem. All the little advantages the other phones aren't a big deal at all.
The Fold 6 is a great device, but at the end of the day it is an inferior device.
The only thing worth praising on the Z Fold 6 is Dex.
In everything else, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro wipes the floor with the Z Fold 6 and I say that as a Samsung fan.

The main reason i would want a large second screen is for media consumption, but the internal screen is basically square... i don't really see the appeal of foldables, and most people i know that have them seem to mainly use them folded.

Love my Vivo Fold 3 Pro global version. It runs great on the AT&T service here in the USA. You can actually use the front screen unlike my old Samsung Fold 4. The Samsung does have the best software, but I wanted a bigger front screen.

I wish this phone was widely available in the uk unfortunately its very hard to find and you'd have to buy it full price but its way better than the z fold by far
The things that make me go away from these phones are the lack of reliable aftersales support, bloatware, future updates, and lack of apps compatibility specifically banking apps which I use daily.
The only place where it doesn't beat is on the preorder bonus/ price. A mate of mine got this Z Fold 6 512 + Buds 3 Pro for $1700 AUD, which is around $800 AUD lower than what it would take to import a Vivo X Fold 3 Pro 512 :/
Samsung needs to make the foldable with the same cover screen size as the s24u. Slim it down a bit and I'm sold. I have a zfold 3 and after that initial honey moon stage with a foldable I hate the cover candy bar screen.

It is not about just the phone. It is about the eco system that these other companies like Vivo just can’t stand up against. There is the watch, the buds, the phone, the appliances. The phone does not have to be the best all around cause when paired with the other connections it is just not beaten. If it is just the phone for you then yes there are better ones. But for most people it is not just the phone they consider.
But how do both these phone compare to the oneplus open which as of every review I've watch say it's the best foldable phone available thanks for all the great videos 👊
You should know the OnePlus Open has more narrow outer screen and no wireless charging, so won't be a challenger until next model early next year. It's probably still a better choice over Samsung.
I live in Southern CA and am on T-Mobile. Ive had every Samsung fold (including having had the 5 for the last year). But when the Zfold6 came out and was basically no wider, last week I got the Vivo Fold 3 Pro (Global Edition) and wish I'd had it instead of the Zfold. But definitely don't get Vivo(/Xiomi) 'Chinese' version. It force opens websites up in their browser (which can cause some hurdles) and the swipe-right function to see the latest news takes you to Chinese language/news. But get the Vivo Fold '3'... Not the 4 bc there's no Global version with the 4.

As anyone seen any durability test on the vivo x fold 3 pro. (how many folds can it do without breaking) what if the vivo fold 3 needs to be repaired. Who or what country would i need to send it back to. What about the vivo x fold 3 pro software.. All the vivo fold 3 pro notifications dont work.
Samsung as got 6 years experience in making a foldable phone, even though they definately need to start making some major changes and giving customers exactly what they want, such as a bigger fron screen , bigger battery and better cameras etc
This is what people fail to realize: the hardware is A1 with Vivo, but the software, hinge, speakers, and repair support are nowhere near the Fold 6.

People are talking as if every single folding device so far from samsung hasnt had major durability issues with long term use in terms of the crease. Idgaf what they say, almost everyone thats used them for a year or two daily, reports noticeable damage along the crease. Not only that but samsing doesnt make it easy at all to get that repaired for free

I have an S23 Ultra, and I absolutely HATE all the Samsung AI features Samsung keeps trying to push me to use! Not having those is actually a huge plus, in my opinion.

These other foldables are good, but the only time they get attention is when you mention them alongside the Z.
They have to be good enough to stand on their own. That goes deeper than the spec sheet.
It's because the samsung is a world wide launch and all the other brands are way more in asia launches and so the samsung is seens as the standard but it doesn't mean the others are worse or not good on there own

Me, generally I don't have good experience with Chinese brands like Vivo. I had an Iqoo 12 and didn't like it. Then switched to the s24 Ultra and noticed some things that destroyed the Iqoo.
Don't get me wrong. The Vivo is waaaay better in most aspects.
I only prefer Samsung because I'm Already in Samsung's ecosystem.
I'll probably get the z fold 6 Because the networks I'm using dosent have the best connection compared to Samsung. I could get the pixel but performance, well that's sh*t, tensor G4 is equivalent to the nothing phone 2 (Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1)

It's no comparison between these two..vivo wins hands down in camera, battery , weight and almost all except software where vivo doesnt lag far behind. A power user knows how useful a fast 100 W charger with big battery is.

Let's be honest - who's gonna rock a folding phone for seven years? Nobody. These are expensive toys for enthusiasts and the maximum time you'll be using it is 3 years, after that you'll just upgrade to the latest and greatest, cause you won't be able to fight the urge. So Vivo is allright
ip48 isn't much superior than x8 because that just means it is protected against 1mm particles. and how tightly modern phones are made i don't think any would fail this at all
Most of these devices are not available in US. One of the reasons samsung has not felt the need of rushing in the states maybe by z fold 8 or 9 the outer display will be 6.5"
