Oh wow, you must be the first reactor I've seen to identify the actor that plays Pieter! Well done! And since we're with Pieter: in David Lynch's Dune he's played by Brad Dourif who was also Grima Wormtongue on Jackson's The Lord of the Rings.
Oh, really? That's interesting! I love Brad Dourif, and I can totally see him in that role. I think the first thing I ever saw him in was "Urban Legends" which was a pretty forgettable film overall in my opinion, but his performance in the opening sequence is great.
The reason Lady Jessica and the Duke were not married, Jessica wanted the Duke available to marry a woman from another Great House to strenthen House Atreides (a political marriage), but they were in love.
They had the usual space travel using technology and all that without needing spice. However, all use of technology specifically ai was banned after the butlerian jihad thousands of years ago which made them turn to spice for travelling. That’s also why there isn’t much “traditional” technology and it’s mostly just analog
Oooh, that's interesting! I figured there was some sort of an explanation and it wasn't a genuine plot hole, because between the novels and 2 screen adaptations, someone would have picked up on one that big. And that certainly explains it. Thanks for commenting! :)
When I watch part two, I will try to straighten out the subtitles! Thanks for watching this with me :)
Great reaction
@8301TheJMan thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 😊

I second this. Very refreshing to see a reaction in which the reactor actually picks up on thematic elements and plot lines.

@@Forty_six_and_two That certainly makes sense!
@@nebulousreactionsalso, you must have subtitles for part 2.
@Forty_six_and_two Oh, absolutely! I'll double check before I record 😉
