I LOVE that Center Stage got on the list... it was so great. It REALLY helped, too, that they had REAL ballet dancers to do the principle roles and do the dancing. It REALLY added authenticity and validity to their dancing and the scenes.
The Naatu Naatu dance is the only redeeming feature of this otherwise overhyped film. Even the song is not all that good. Why the hell did it get an Oscar? Like I mentioned, only the Dance is awesome!
@@shwethapollali3020RRR has everything that a good movie needs. Spectacular music and colours, neverending action, good story of friendship and betrayal, hope and justice. Epic fights on the level of "Avatar" fights. "Naatu natuu" is a good extra to the movie, but not the only good thing. If u personally didnt like it - doesnt mean its bad. It just has less drama that americans got used to haha 😂
Oh definitely!! I LOVE RRR... That dance made made my adrenaline go off the charts. But the whole story rocks and is one that should have won more acclaim at the Oscars than just the music and dancing.
While I completely understand the desire to single out Jai Ho, it's kind of criminal that the final number of "Step Up 2 the Streets" is not on this list. It is one of the most fantastic, intricate, hard hitting hip hop numbers - maybe ever. The way they used the set and staging with rain and lights, how they maximized the impact of the music choices (which were incredible) and highlighted so many diverse styles....IT SLAPPED.
"I'm just Ken" was definitely my favorite from this top. Happy tuesday afternoon, Emily. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
No matter when I watch it, Center Stage is always AMAZING! Cell Block Tango in Chicago might be the jewel of crown in broadway. So many stories were told in such an intensive scene. For 2004, I must name Alice’s solo in as the best dancing scenery of the year. Breath-taking beauty in that scene would bring out viewers tears. 2008: Dancing Queen in Mama Mia
While I absolutely love that you are doing a focus on dance in the movies, I can not imagine why not once did you mention any of the choreographers (granted, I am still only on 2009, but I haven't heard any names yet). The moves don't happen by themselves. These professionals work thier butts off and deserve to be recognized.
*MY FAVORITES:* Cooper's Ballet - Center Stage "El Tango de Roxanne" - Moulin Rouge "Cell Block Tango" - Chicago "I Believe" - Honey "Thriller" - 13 Going on 30 "Now That We Found Love" - Hitch The Showcase - Step Up "You Can't Stop the Beat" - Hairspray "That's How You Know" - Enchanted Dance in the Rain - Step Up 2: The Streets Tom's Celebration - 500 Days of Summer Finale - Black Swan "Hot Wings (I Wanna Party)" - Rio Competition - Silver Linings Playbook Make an Entrance - The Great Gatsby "For the Dancing and the Dreaming" - How to Train Your Dragon 2 Ballroom Dance - Cinderella "Another Day of Sun" - La La Land "From Now On" - The Greatest Showman "Super Trouper" - Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again "Criminal" - Hustlers Jake & Quinn - Work It "The Dance at the Gym" - West Side Story "Fairytale Life (After the Spell)" - Disenchanted "I'm Just Ken" - Barbie
The opening dance sequence in Climax (2018) was of the most hypnotizing, chaotic and intricate dance sequences. Five minutes with 24 street dancers, showcasing each of the individual style and personality, all done in one single take. It had dancers voguing, death dropping, duck walking, dipping, ribbon-dancing, and Sofia Boutella the only actress amongst dancers absolutely bodies her part in the dance sequence
that final dance is Step Up 2 is probably my fav of all time, but I get that Slumdog Millionaire beat it for that year. If just because the movie overall (which wasn't focused on dancing)
Thanks for this compilation. I have only seen a couple of these. I spent about 15 years of my life ad a dancer--amateur and pro-- but not much of a movie goer.
I knew it be a great list when y'all opened with 'Cooper's Ballet' from 2000s 'Center Stage'. That whole dance sequence is BALLET PERFECTION. I love when Charlie raised his eyebrow to Cooper. Like "I won the girl!" So sexy and smooth of him. Amanda Schull is a Ballet Queen and I couldn't take my eyes off her. I loved her later in Suits as Katrina Bennett. ❤🩰👑
Indian dance sequences like Top lesipodi from idaramilatho (2011) , jai jai shiva shankar from WAR (2019) , love debba from nanaku prematho( 2015) and vande mataram from ABCD 2 (2014) deserves a shout out
Speaking to "The Showcase" dance for 2006, I should hope Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum had good chemistry, since they were dating for real during the filming and not long after that got married. So their chemistry was there in the movie because it was there in real life.
You forgot the end scene of Saltburn. I know you probably couldn't include it because he was not wearing any clothes but his madness and joy came through together in a weird, but enjoyable combination.
The two sexiest tangos ever...Antonio Banderas in Take the Lead...and Al Pacino as the blind ex- soldier in ....sorry, can't remember the title. Just remember the dance.
What about Spirited… the dance scene to the song Do a Little Good? I really loved all the incredible dancing throughout the movie but that scene culminates the full meaning of the movie. The dancers are so varied and inclusive. Very body positive and definitely highlights the athleticism behind every great dancer. I was hoping it would be one of the selections. If you haven’t seen it, check it out!
2016 my father both 2 tickets to Lala land, for him and his girlfriend, but she couldn't go, so he took me instead, we had a great time and it's the only time I remember me and my father just hang out together. I do remember not knowing anything about the movie before it started, and both of us being kind of confused when the musical number started
WHERE IS EMMA 2019 BALLROOM SCENE!!!!!!! Whoever does this lists I beg you to watch it!!! Its been missed before on dance lists ( watch whole film if you can but ATLEAST that dance between emma and mr knightly)
Black Swan would have been a far better movie if they actually cast a dancer, and not someone who took a few lessons and tried to claim she did all the dancing herself. You can tell there was a shift away from dancers in Hollywood films in the 2010s, just completely unmemorable dancing. I mean the best scene from La La Land doesn't feature any of the main actors, because they can't dance!

"Gelderland Dance" to Golden Years by David Bowie
Y does this lady have 2 speak s00ooo00o0 annoying...
Save the last dance
2004 Thriller is cute, but Napoleon is dynamite.
El Tango de Roxanne is a peak cinema moment. One can say many things about the movie otherwise, but this scene alone... *Chef's kiss*.
I LOVE that Center Stage got on the list... it was so great. It REALLY helped, too, that they had REAL ballet dancers to do the principle roles and do the dancing. It REALLY added authenticity and validity to their dancing and the scenes.
Naatu Naatu is just the tip of the iceberg to RRR’s greatness
The Naatu Naatu dance is the only redeeming feature of this otherwise overhyped film.
Even the song is not all that good. Why the hell did it get an Oscar?
Like I mentioned, only the Dance is awesome!
@@shwethapollali3020 As a telugu person.. the song was amazing and I liked it.. ofc... all MM Keervani musicals are amazing!

Could not agree more. The technique of that final dance was beyond out of this world
SERIOUSLY
I’ve really been enjoying the new episodes Ms Mojo been doing. Broadway, dancing, singing, classical pieces. Showing some realmculture!
"I'm just Ken" was definitely my favorite from this top. Happy tuesday afternoon, Emily. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.

2008: Dancing Queen in Mama Mia
Black Swan helped me regaining my love for ballet even though I no longer have the flexibility to make it professionally
I would have loved to have seen the trio dance or Antonio Banderas’s demonstration dance from Take The Lead chosen for 2006. Both were outstanding.
2020 gave Mads Mikkelsens' "Another Round" finale-dance sequence - extraordinary, especially due to its' subtile choreography
THANK YOU!
2021, In the Heights definitely, how did you leave that out?
Naatu Naatu is my favorite moment from the RRR movie!

THANK YOU. I would have LOVED to hear more about the choreographers!
She did introduced the choreographers in West Side Story.
The Pride & prejudice dance when the crowd disappears 🔥🔥
Yes, I was hoping that "I'm Just Ken" would be the 2023 pick. I love how it draws inspiration from 2000's boy bands and classic dance movies.
Why do i see you in every video i see?
Yess
Step Up 2 had some cool dance scenes in it and Black swan is my all time fav 😍😍😍

The Greatest Showman, High School Musical, and StreetDance
The Greatest Showman had no business on the best lists, for that movie is a total garbage🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩, and purely woke; all of it.
Overlooked "Steppin to the Bad Side," from Dreamgirls, and "Voulez Vous," from the first Mama Mia.

Yes, legendary. I wanted to stand and applaud in the theater.
Where is Napoleon Dynamite and Step Up 2: The Streets? That final dance season is stunning
that final dance is Step Up 2 is probably my fav of all time, but I get that Slumdog Millionaire beat it for that year. If just because the movie overall (which wasn't focused on dancing)
Changing Tatum's dance scene in the Coen brothers Old Hollywood satire/homage...
Thanks for this compilation. I have only seen a couple of these. I spent about 15 years of my life ad a dancer--amateur and pro-- but not much of a movie goer.
Great video, thanks for sharing
2004 not being Napoleon Dynamite is a CRIME
exactly what i was going to write in the comments. One of the greatest dance sequences in any movie
2019 Aladdin friend like me. That dance was straight fire 🔥🔥
the 2011 doc "Pina" completely changed my perspective on dance as an art
I knew it be a great list when y'all opened with 'Cooper's Ballet' from 2000s 'Center Stage'. That whole dance sequence is BALLET PERFECTION. I love when Charlie raised his eyebrow to Cooper. Cell block tango is a classic.
Cooper’s Ballet and CDK *chefs kiss*
Step Up mentioned twice, but no Moose? For shame.
I know it's a pro-shot of a stage show but the dancing in Yorktown/World Turned Upside Down from Hamilton (2020) deserves some attention!
Woke mess. Plus, on one night, the cast was very rude to a sitting Veep. Unforgivable.
Moulin Rouge was huge, but in 2001 was also notable Save the last dance
Be Italian from the movie Nine, is a great one for 2009
Super Trooper is so much fun and my fav!
naatu naatu 🔥
any indians?
The audacity of the snub to the Water Dance from Step Up 3D. Arguably should have been the 2010 choice AND the example from the Step Up franchise.
Step up one❤
Surprised the heights wasn’t on the list so many good dances in that film
Rock of Ages 2012 with Juliana Hough has one of the best dance scenes ever. You need to redo the list. And what about her in Footloose remake?
Have you lost it? No You got served ? It was one of the movies that started up the dancing movement in movies
Speaking to "The Showcase" dance for 2006, I should hope Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum had good chemistry, since they were dating for real during the filming and not long after that got married. So their chemistry was there in the movie because it was there in real life.

I don’t know if Shall we dance came out during this period, but it should at least had an honorable mention. As well as the first Mamma Mia!

No way another day of sun beats a lovely night!
2023 Barry Keoghan in Saltburn was fire!!
2023 should be Murder on the Dance Floor from Saltburn. Barry Keoghan killed it!🙌🏻🙌🏻
Cell Block Tango!!!
I love “Stomp the Yard
I was hoping the dance in the rain scene at the end of Step Up 2 would be here.
Edit: okay I guess they did reference it.
Most of "You Got Served" dance scenes.
FROM NOW ON!!!
🐧 "Happy Feet" (2006)
Have we forgotten about M3gan dancing?
I like the dance scene in Cinderella 2015.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's chemistry was so strong that they got married, and lasted almost 10 years which is an eternity in Hollywood.
Jolly good list but I'm missing "Wednesday".
Forgot the insanely beautiful waltz in Crimson Peaks
Hey guys can you do a video on best dance sequences in indian movies every year ❤ please
It's a sin that you missed out on the many dance sequences in Hamilton for 2020 cause technically it did have it released that year on screen
Hamilton was a woke mess. Plus, on one night, the cast was very rude to a sitting veep. Unforgivable.
The two sexiest tangos ever...Antonio Banderas in Take the Lead...and Al Pacino as the blind ex- soldier in ....sorry, can't remember the title. Just remember the dance.
Scent of a Woman :)
Thank you!🙂
The Wednesday dance from Netflix
I think they meant the movie ones.
It would be great to credit the choreographers and movement directors alongside the video
If this went back to 1989 I would say the parade scene in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
As a millennial who lived thoughout all these years, I thought at least one number of High School Musical would be included
Wow; I’m first ( but I see Movie Dance Scenes , just have to u click!🕺💃)
Only if west would watch indian movies regularly..the whole list of these 20yrs will be filled with indian movies and its dance sequences
The dances really are amazing!

If Centre Stage doesn't win for its year, I will fight you! Edit: it did. Okay that's all I needed to know.
you missed Shall we dance with Ja lo and richard Gere! the tango scene!!
White Chicks dance off scene. Completely absurd but amazing nonetheless.
2019 should be for jai jai shiva shankar song from indian movie WAR

Can you do top 24 best superhero movies of each year 2000-2023?
Sorry but no. 2012 should have been any of the dance sequences from Step Up Revolution
I'm a bit sad that the ballroom dance scene in Anna Karenina was not included. The intricacy of it was just breathtaking
