So my dad used to sing this to my mom and sister and I, and we'd sing the guitar part in between each line. My dad passed away last year, but this song will live on with his memory. Love you dad!
Okay,..i used to draw their logo in school, in the late 80's but never listened to them. You Tube rocks cause now i know why i was a part of the "gang" that listened to the Cramps in 89 with long hair and an attitude. Funny that i just met our "leader" at a wedding 2 weeks back. i will be sending him the Cramps so he can jog his memory.
I agree, there were quite a few smarmy folks in the '80's who were quite full of themselves when it came to creating "new" genres. While most of them are now in therapy the rest of us are still just having fun with music of all kinds!
Thanks for the kind comment. It was one of my first vids but I really love the tune. It is, I think, the first song I ever heard by The Cramps and it's stuck with me ever since.
@BlooDCoNcReTe You're correct. Someone asked about this some months ago and I looked it up. Urban Slang dictionaries define a Goo Goo Muck as either a vampire or muff diver. Take your pick.
wow- sorry to hear about your dad's passing... i've been a favoritee of this song for decades- where i use it as my e-mail address. for anyone who's familiar with this song, it was one of the tracks playing in the studio in the DJ booth in TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2-1987...loved the movie, and the name of the song was just goofy.
@2fletchers Thanks for posting this comment as I was aware of this original version. Can't seem to find out much about Ronnie Cook though other than he had a band by the name of Ronnie Cook and the Gaylads.
My friend and I decided with all the genre names being coined in the 80's that the Cramps deserved thier own genre...pshycobillypunkadelic. The one and the only The Cramps!
Top tune ,,don't do it like this anymore... The Cramps had a massive following in the UK.................brilliant tune.....Vespa &Lambretta all the way!!!!!!!!!!!
I always thought this was a CRAMPS original -- but no! RUclips taught me that there was another version from around 1962 by Ronnie Cook. Scope it out, very understated.
Yes it is a cover though the actual name of the group is Ronnie and the Gaylads. Ronnie Cook was the singer. Oddly enough, "Goo Goo Muck" is the only song I can find by them ... if you or anyone out there can provide any more information regarding Roonie Cook and the Gaylads - who they are, albums they did, other members, etc. - it would be appreciated.
The answer is obvious ... the infection had already set in, apparently it was a latent form of the diesase - it just took a while for it manifest itself before going critical. When it did, another Cramps fan was born! Long live the new flesh!
Well, according to Urban Slang dictionaries online a Goo Goo Muck is either a vampire or muff diver, take your pick. It could conceiveably argued that the late, great Lux Interior is THE ULTIMATE Goo Goo Muck ... but this must be stated, of course, with the utmost of respect.
The original copy has "The Scotch" on the flip of "Goo Goo Muck", and I think it's also the one on the Norton re-ish. Its worth the listen. As for Ronnie Cook, he's now in prison somewhere in California, supposedly for murdering his wife.
Ha! That's a great misheard lyric if I ever heard one. Hey, Lux Interior and Poison Ivy, if you read this "Goo Goo Muff" would be a wonderful novelty-remake to do of your own song - and if anyone could it The Cramps can!
Sshatchell, I removed you post quite by accident. The fault is mine. But by way of answer, I always mentally pictured a Goo Goo Muck resembling Lux Interior for some reason ... and this is meant in a complimentary fashion!
@hazuinf Yep, they sure had, but we added a little more to it for good measure, a little tongue in cheek due to all the genre creations going on at the time...
Well, Mr. Lowdown, while I'm glad you like the music it truly injures my feelings you feel the video I spent so much time and money producing is, in your words "gay lame". Now, I'm not sure just what "gay lame" means but I'm willing to bet it ain't no compliment. Being a an open minded individual I respectfully request you either make a better Goo Goo Muck video yourself or withdraw the comment on mine.
So terrible, yet fantastic...it's like a musical group from Cry Baby, but it's real, and it has animal sounds--I love to stop at a light and blare this out my windows and look causualy over at the driver next to me.
@alshouse Are you sure you don't mean "garage rock"? I can't picture anyone being foolish enough to refer to ANY of the music offered by The Cramps as garbage!
So my dad used to sing this to my mom and sister and I, and we'd sing the guitar part in between each line. My dad passed away last year, but this song will live on with his memory. Love you dad!
I saw them twice in concert in the early 1980s, I was hoping to see them one more time. Rest in Peace Lux, thanks for the great music!
Classic Song. Still rocks after all these years!
This brings back great memories of the 80's
Simple, but it speaks volumes of the 80's! great tune!
Okay,..i used to draw their logo in school, in the late 80's but never listened to them. I agree, there were quite a few smarmy folks in the '80's who were quite full of themselves when it came to creating "new" genres. While most of them are now in therapy the rest of us are still just having fun with music of all kinds!
Another legend gone...we'll never forget you Lux, R.I.P.
Glad to make you smile, man.
Too true - I was thinking much the same thing.
@liquidgee13 ..this is definately about muff diving...or it was when I bought it 30 years ago.
This song has such a great "surf guitar" sound.
Vampiric Muff Diver
Happy Halloween Lux. You always had the best costumes.

love it
@yellow1871 You are a very disturbed, sick individual. Too bad there aren't more people like you around ... :)
The Cramps a scary thrill, pure music to smash the kitsch vat in which Elton, The Eagles and all the other money driven blandouts lived.
Dude I use to listen to this tape lol

Standing Bear in the comments here-> ruclips.net/video/ywzlrQrelr0/видео.html claims his grandpa wrote the song, worth a shot.
Everyone HAS to see the live verson of this song on YouTUbe. It's UNBELIEVABLE.
The answer is obvious ... the infection had already set in, apparently it was a latent form of the diesase - it just took a while for it manifest itself before going critical.
When it did, another Cramps fan was born! Long live the new flesh!
WHEN I SHOW UP!!! The GOO GOO MUCK!!!
You had a cool Dad!!
@WHOBYFIRE333 All hail WHOBYFIRE333 ... the self-proclaimed Goo Goo Muck King !!! ;)
if it wasn't for muff diving, i'd never get to floss my teeth.
And, thankfully, there is no cure, no inoculation to prevent the spread of this dread infection!
Soon, all will Cramps addicts!!!
when im on shrooms i AM goo goo muck

Well, according to Urban Slang dictionaries online a Goo Goo Muck is either a vampire or muff diver, take your pick. It could conceiveably argued that the late, great Lux Interior is THE ULTIMATE Goo Goo Muck ... but this must be stated, of course, with the utmost of respect.
This is a really odd song, but I just can't stop listening to it.

Create & recreate until the total imagery is completed. Friendly to your 5s. (CRAMPs)
