A Great video! I had been to Jirisan 23 years ago. From Nogodan to Chunwangbong. Almost died because of a heavy storm, But met many great people in there who helped me to get over. nice memories.
that looks like where i served 14 month on the usa army... Bruno was my guard dog when i was not pampering Hawk missiles. The bridge over the stream locked it in to my memory... the highest mountain next door had the airforce unit for radio contact.
The town is not very charming or picturesque like Japanese mountain towns, but it seems to have a lot of potential. If they cleaned it up a bit, they'd probably have 100x more tourists
한국인들이 괜히 등산복 다 갖추고 등산하는게 아니에요 😂 낮은산이라도 암벽이 많아서 엄청 위험한 코스들도 많고 산정상에 오르면 바람이 엄청 심하게 불어서 외투도 준비해야되구요. 물론 저도 가끔 등산하기때문에 청바지에 티셔츠만 입긴하지만요 ㅎㅎ 한국등산복이 많이 비싸거든요 😭

Hi! I was checking the area on Naver.com but I think it was most likely a minbak(similar to someone renting a room in a house). Those are usually difficult to book in advance and most do not even show up on hotel/motel apps or even mapping apps. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I hope you can find somewhere comfortable for your trip!
It was about a 5 hour climb, but we took our time and had many snack breaks. (P.S. I like what you're doing on your channel, I hope you continue to capture more memories)

From my understanding, there is a midnight bus from Seoul Nambu Terminal to Jungsan-ri. Or you could take a KTX train or bus to Jinju and take the local bus to Jungsan-ri like we did. There might be other options and you could call 1330 for the tourism hotline for more information, they are excellent.

The weather can change pretty quickly up in the mountains! Hikers in Korea are some of the nicest people I have met.

지라산 천왕봉 오르는 가장 짧은 코스가 중산리 코스죠~ 천왕봉에서 세석산장까지 주능선 따라 가면 경치가 아주 좋습니다. ^^ 하산은 백무동으로 추천요~

Hallasan is one of my favourite hikes in Korea! If we had more time for Jirisan, I would have liked to take an overnight hike from Gurye.

지리산에 푹 빠진 남자입니다.
10년 전에는 중산리에서 천왕봉까지 1시간 40분에 올라갔고 왕복 4시간에 등산을 마쳤어요. 노고단에서 중산리까지 10시간 당일 종주도 몇번 했는데, 요즘은 속초에서 설악산에 매혹되어 3주 연속 대청봉 찍고 있네요.
설악산국립공원은 많은 아름다운 봉우리가 있다. 나는 이번 가을에 대총봉을 등산하고 싶다.

I had no idea the us army were stationed that far south. I've only encountered military closer to the border in Seoul and Sokcho. Thanks for the info.

맞아요, 지리산에 대한 준비가 부족했지만 많은 것을 배웠습니다.

등산은 안전 산행이최곱니다.여름이나 겨울에 면으로된옷 면티셔스.청바지..는 안입는게 종습니다.특히 겨울에 청바지는 진짜 위험합니다.청바지는 물이나. 눈에 젖으면 안마르고 체온만 빼앗아갑니다.체온 떨어지면 저 체온증으로죽습니다.
동네 느낌이 스위스 체르마트 랑 비슷 합니다.
