Dave and Adam just picked up your Atom pedal and it is now one of my favorites the sound is crazy good and yes it makes my twin sound just amazing so thanks you guys you just created another masterpiece!!!
Had a Marshall BluesBreaker pedal and a Nobels ODR mini, now have The Protein. The blue side is fuller and more usable and the green side is smoother with less of the bass hump that a typical ODR circuit has, just perfect!
Nice shootout fellas. The Atom sounds great. I’ve been using the reissue nobels for about 2 years now, and I think the one point y’all missed in this shootout was the use of the bass cut switch in the nobels reissue. Anytime I feel as if the bottom end is a bit much on the reissue I can flip that switch and it helps some. Would love to hear how to Atom compares to the stock nobels with the bass cut engaged.
You guys are the best! Greetings from northern Canada! A Les Paul into a Protein, pushed a little by a good Klone, into a clean Marshall Bluesbreaker amp is the absolute most glorious tone I’ve ever had. Truly makes me sound better than I actually am. Lol Gives me my good, better, best drive scenarios. I may have to try the Atom with the secret setting in place of my Klone though. Thanks so much for doing what you guys do. Top notch gents!
I was using a strat into a 74’ deluxe reverb with the blue side of the protein engaged and I loved it but I just got ahold of a Greco Les Paul and it really loves the green side. Such a sweet overdrive tone.
The thing about the ODR1 is that it has levels of overdrive, two I think. So if you are careful, you can position your attack such that you are just below the upper distortion and above the lower lesser distortion for max headroom and feel. Most folks attack the strings too hard and don't hear this effect. If you listen to Tom Bukovac talk about the ODR1 he refers to this effect as the floor.
The Protein is my must have and I primarily use the green channel. It's been good into my high powered JB twin and 57 Bandmaster Reissue 3x10. It sounds great going into these clean and dirty. It sounds great with my R9 and my Custom Shop Tele. Cheers!
For real good metal tones, I use full size a bit pushed Engl amplifiers and guitar cabinets. For all other glorious tones, I have the Protein and T4 on every board. The Carbon - I had to have it and of course the same with the Atom now. You guys are developing and building great sounding, but also great looking pedals. Love from Germany! ❤
Picked up a demo version from these guys on reverb in white (v2) and love it more than life itself. The best drive sound I’ve ever played is a Way Huge conspiracy theory Klone into the green side of the protein. Blue side is always on just about :)
Hello, I have one question. I have seen Browne guitars especially on worship videos. But ironically I cannot find out any Browne guitars on the internet. By any chance, do you guys build guitars too?
I already have a Carbon. If I bought the Atom now and put it in front of the Carbon - I have a Protein, right? Or are there differences between a Protein pedal and Atom/Carbon pedal? Because if yes - I might buy a Protein. Hm.
It is the Green side of the Protein, but because of the different way that a dual overdrive is powered vs a single circuit, think of it like Green Side +
Great sounding pedal, I have a Protien and its the best dual OD I've ever owned, now I need one of these for the "secret setting". Thanks for feeding the GAS fellas LOL
The thing is, I'm not convinced anyone outside America understands the Nashville reference. Saying "Nashville overdrive" is meaningless to the majority of the planet.
Are you two delusional, I'm not hearing what all the praising of this pedal is coming from. Such a tiny tone change. Pricey pedals sure need alot of hype.
It seems to me to be a pretty pointless video. I'm listening on AKG K92 headphones and am not hearing anything you guys are describing. Both the Nobels and the Browne pedals sound pretty much the same at this end. If I were interested in hearing the Nobels sound*, I'd shop for a used ODR1 or the cheapest clone I could find. $220 is too much to shell out for any sort of overdrive pedal. *As things stand, I'll be sticking with my Chinese Timmy and Klon clones, a TD Zeus Drive, Behringer TS clone and ancient Danelectro overdrive. They all do it for me, one way of the other.
Totally fair, not everyone wants to spend that on a new pedal. I think you will find it increasingly difficult to find any boutique pedal builder who can afford to sell pedals for under $200 without doing mass production though, parts and actually paying good people to build just doesnt allow for it anymore. There will always be Chinese clones though, and honestly, a lot of them sound pretty decent - but you will for sure get what you pay for. The one thing we went after with this pedal is how it "feels" to play, not just how it sounds, although we think its sounds wonderful. but each to their own!

Love it!!
This video pushed me over the edge and I ordered a Protein. Killer OD!

Ill have to get the boys to take a look at that - thanks, we have a few guys who are doing some reviews for us, they might speak to that.
@@BrowneAmplification amazing! looking forward to trying one out myself soon

Yes, we have a few sound samples that will be on the website (on Feb 8) that showcase the ATOM through a Les Paul - its pretty nice...

Great Job Man ❤❤❤
Thanks 🔥
I have a protein and I love it. The Atom is exactly the same as the green side right?
Hello, I have one question. I have seen Browne guitars especially on worship videos. But ironically I cannot find out any Browne guitars on the internet. By any chance, do you guys build guitars too?
Dave does build custom guitars - shoot us an email from our website and we will follow up with you!
I’m going nuts trying to figure out what song is being played here 30:35
Daphne Blue by The Band Camino
@@jimmyscott9720 That’s it. THANK YOU
Sounds great guys! I just ordered an Atom yesterday and I can’t wait to try it out!
I’m looking all over for the secret setting button or switch… where did you hide it??! Demo sounds great!
The boys are always so secretive about their settings... I think we deserve better

the only difference would be that the dual shares power, but yes, essentially if you bought an ATOM, you would have a protein
Good Stuff, but kinda wish you could have compressed down to 10 minutes
You guys should do a shootout between a Boss OD-3 and the Atom, might give people an alternative to the OD3 for those that dislike ugly yellow boxes
not a bad idea
Cool vid. What is adams last name? I know odr gets a bad wrap but the thing it does is unique imo. Atom is neat for sure.
Sniegowski - not easy to spell! haha
How does the ATOM compare to the Shanks ODS-1?
Can the Carbon produce the exact same sound as a the low-drive sound in Atom?
Different circuits, so most likely no
Very Organic, where to buy?
Feb 8! Will be available from our website and from select dealers (listed in the comments)
I swear to the Gauds of Thermionic splendor?
Same as the green side of the Protein or is it slightly different?
It is the Green side of the Protein, but because of the different way that a dual overdrive is powered vs a single circuit, think of it like Green Side +
What's the name of Braxton's band?
The Invention of Flight
So what was the random pedal you guys are talking about that is a take on a ODR1????? DONT WORRY I WILL STILL BUY YOUR PEDALS !!!
haha, we appreciate it.

You bet!!
The thing is, I'm not convinced anyone outside America understands the Nashville reference. Saying "Nashville overdrive" is meaningless to the majority of the planet.
It’s our way of nodding to the origins of the pedal circuit, but also not trying to say it’s an ODR clone, because it isn’t.
So basically an OD-3 lol

A good pedal is priceless....so buy good ones and know that buy crap is really what is expensive as you always replace over and over again.
