Are you telling us the people who brought you Rock Chalk Jayhawk, Arrowhead Stadium, Superman, and Dorothy Gale aren't into flash? Your women's soccer team is The Kansas City Current ⚡. Masten Gregory was literally called the Kansas City Flash. Your nightclub scene is at the "Power & Light District."
      Kansas City is flashy af.

28:53 Lee is too humble to admit it, but he is such an awesome guitarist! I can't quite describe what it is, but there is a subtlety and sweetness to his playing that is lovely and unique

What great timing! I just ordered a Carbon V2 yesterday, and am planning for a pedal to use with it in a few months’ time. Atom the obvious partner, but am fascinated by the Gritador. Other thoughts??? (Timmy, Tumnus, etc.)

Does the protein Cut enough through a Band mix, enough Mids? And Same question for the Carbon X? Thank you very much for your answer 😁

  • @MrWhit30

I have a Protein. If I was playing live in a band it would be my choice, just for the green side alone. I'd never had a Bluesbreaker type pedal when I ordered the Protein so I really didn't know what I'd get. Try as I might I've never really bonded with the blue side.
Playing at home I actually love the extra bass, compression, and gain from my stock ODR1, and paired with a BD2 I prefer it over the Protein.
Dont get me wrong though, the dude makes excellent pedals despite my nitpicking.
In a band situation I prefer the Protein with its cleaner more hi fi vibe and less bass, but I like to goose it a bit, esp the blue side. The best boost Ive found for it is the Karma Mostortion, set at low gain. Its 3 band eq works wonders, esp for the blue side. I havnt tried but I could prob accomplish much the same thing with an eq pedal.
This is all dependent on my usual amp, Carr Rambler, a Fendery kinda thing. For my Marshall DSL20, the Protein is really the only drive pedal I need for it. Even the blue side sounds good to me thru the Marshall's "clean" channel for some reason. I never use the high gain channel on the Marshall, just too much gain for the genres I play. So at home anyway the Protein stays in front of the Marshall, and the Carr gets a stock ODR1 and BD2.

Been through the Marshall Bluesbreaker and Nobels pedals, all I can say is the Protein is far more usable and musical.

Comparing classical guitar to Yngwie is such an insult to classical guitar captain ;) Yngwie attempts to mimic pieces primarily for violin, his music has nothing to do with classical guitar, and frankly, he couldn’t play those pieces if he tried xD
