G'd! I'm still listening to this music after several years... I was something ~18 when I purchased this game... and now I'm 34.. hahaha! Only its OST remained. The best are this Track 1, and the Track 4.
I remember being hit by an AAG over northern Afghanistan, heading back to base with a burning engine and dropping fuel, making it back to the south approx. 100 kilometers away from the base when the engine stopped due to the lost fuel, gliding another 70 kilometers with jammed rudders, ejecting approx. 30 kilometers from the base and running towards it for almost half an hour on 4x game speed... Just to not replay the previous flight...
This is at least 6 on my top sim list; only because it brought alot of things to the table that I liked. The enveloping music, a snowy Kola Peninsula - oh and it didnt hurt that at the time, it was some of the best graphics in any sim, up to that point. Man for all us virtual pilots; the 90's truly were the golden age. I don't understand why nowadays, most developers wont bother with the genre.
you can destroy small targets by pistol, like radars, flaks or anti aircarft rocket launcher. the sense behind the ejection is, the game counts lost planes and lost pilots. so if your aircraft is badly damaged you can eject and the game counts 1 lost aircraft but no dead pilot :) - GREAT GAME by the way, still love to play it today on win win7 )
Kim M. Jensen... the composer behind JSF, Project IGI 1,IGI 2...etc always making wonderful tracks.. Follow him.. on soundcloud :) soundcloud.com/kim-m-jensen
Many thanks to "Kim Morten Jensen" the composer of the OST of JSF!! As i can see, i'm not alone to remember this nice game from 1997! I also spent hours flying with headphones!! Running fullres on my Cyrix166+/Mystique/3dFx hehe ^^ Use offliberty/dot/com to get it in mp3 When i hear those tracks i remember... Lock on.... SHOOT!! SHOOT!! SHOOT!! SHOOT!! SHOOT!! ........ Enemy target destroyed
I forget where but there was a cockpit menu option to turn the low altitude warning off. I used to love low flying in the helicopters you could get via cheats, they really showed off the amazing terrain technology.
4 everyone who want to play this game(or any other 1995-2001 games in other visa or win7 download dos box it will solve all you problems and u have native support,
Software graphics mode in 1366x768 is working in Windows 7 64 on a 1080p 16:9 monitor. Any higher resolution and the rendering causes a crash when pitched up towards the sky. I still need a glide wrapper to get to the first, main menu for some reason, though. I am using Whiteknight, PPJoy, and GlovePIE in LB2 and JSF to combine hotas and pedals into one virtual stick. Only issue now is the lack of antialiasing and the fact the Saitek profiler is nonfunctional so I will have to do the button mapping probably in GlovePIE, at least for LB2. I think JSF has a remapping thing in its top sim menu.
@kaiopai87 i never found the reason why but i did find some use, if your plane ever got hit and u successfully landed in an enemy base you could shoot the enemy AAs and SAM station and once cleared the base became friendly and all you had to do is walk back to the runway and save the game. once done so you gained a base and only lost a plane and no pilot =D
i found jsf accidental inside a game collection-box ... i don't know how much hours i spent hearing this track again and again ... while shooting rockets oder dropping bombs. i need to find it again :) but one question: what is the sense, that you can walk around with a gun, after you ejected your plane?
I still have this game, but somehow the game does not run on my pc, i think the game is not compatible with XP. If somone knows how to run the game, plz tell me. thx!
@DemetriosAP are you able to install it? does it load up to the menu? if it does when you start it up and just pull up does it freeze? if so the change the resolution or even the bit mode (x16 or x32) can fix that problem, cuz i have and play it on xp, and windows 7
Teria como você me mandar a ISO do jogo, por download ou torrent, gostaria de re-lembrar. Would like you to send me the ISO of the game, or download torrent, I would re-member.
@@michiyl hello my friend...thanks for your answer. This soundtrack that you sent i knew it.,if i remember correct the game has opening video with air fight with planes before get in at basic menu. This song i like to find!

@kaiopai87 I used it to successfully desttroy an AA battery once... it was the last thing I needed to do to capture an airfield =D

Good game
I think you have to try to get the military base you have left to finish the game, is what I think.
They need to bring more flight sims for pc again.
"Beginning"
Does not make much sense. Mostly just fun. :)
