I wish I’d seen this before I went to Western. My academic advisor put me in courses I didn’t want to take. I told her I wanted to be a journalist. She rolled her eyes and said, “You need to keep your options open.” And proceeded to enroll me in computer science, algebra, calculus, business, sociology and psychology. After a few months I dropped out. I eventually moved to Toronto, went to UofT, and did really well.
I studied at Western, and the most beautiful thing about it was the campus, facilities and diversity of students. It was like having a big family and finding every other person going through some challenge happy to help you along the way. The awful thing about UWO was the Faculty of General Science, and counsellors who judged you at every step without considering the issues you might be having. Another sad thing is Health Services because they don't take into consideration the issues you might be facing and they just brush it off, unless it is very serious. I found Social Sciences to be more considerate than the General Science department.
Hey Freezie, Ontario Hall was my first choice (behind Saugeen Hall and Delaware Hall). If I had to choose, I would choose OHall 100% of the time (but I might be a little biased). It's been a few years so it might have changed, but I believe when I applied you were guaranteed one of your top three rez choices if you have over a 90% admission average! Hope that helps :)
@@EricSun20 thank you! I really appreciate it. I think it has changed to a 95% admissions average now, which is unfortunate considering I have a 92. I broke my hand last January and it caused my mark to drop to an 82 in music, otherwise I'd have gotten it, most likely. I was concerned in terms of the chances of getting into Ontario hall.. it's definitely going to be first on my options. My only issue with the traditional residences is I would prefer my own room, but I heard the chances of getting your own room at traditional is low because it goes to the higher years first.. the suites and hybrid styles are the best of both worlds, as long as I get single for hybrid. My transcripts haven't gone through yet from college which is a little concerning since OUAC already sent them electronically, but hopefully that gets resolved soon on its own
Hey Eric! I had applied to the Liberal Arts program at Huron College at Western and got in. This was March 2020 but the pandemic happened and not having much a choice I had to take a gap year wherein I gave exams for a professional finance course. I am considering to reapply in the coming days, what advice would you give to make my application stronger : )
Hi, I am still in high school and looking for some uni that I might want to go to. but I have a few questions regarding it like what is undergraduate and why did u go to another uni for undergraduate I'm sorry but I think I still don't know a lot of things can someone plz guide me?
Is the 90+ average thing still true? Because I’m applying for residence and the website says specifically that high school marks don’t impact your placement.
I'm doing my bachelor's in medical lab technologist... I would love to do masters in microbiology and immunology... Is western good for this course? Can u plse address about the admission requirements for this particular course
I want to ask a question: How can we eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in there and how is the price? Does it get paid before we go to Australia, or do we need to pay for it every day?
Hey Pahel, I'm not sure what the med curriculm at Western is like, but I am sure that student services will have more info on that. Try contacting them!
Your top 6 marks, though some of those have to be from required courses. Like some programs require you to have English and Math as part of your top 6 :)
@Yathu S lmao i just got lucky with corona. would not have gotten that average without it. you're definitely good enough and well above the cutoff. i didn't do a supp app or anything and just applied on ouac. you don't need to do anything else you'll definitely get in
No offense but do you seriously think that university anywhere is "fun, wild, and chilled" where people party every weekend? American Unis are 1000% not like those in movies lmao
Thanks for tuning into the channel! Let me know what you took away from this video down below! :D
I want to study UG in B. ed. science in western university..
What will be fees per semester and how many weeks is a semester. Brother.

Thank you Alicia! Hopefully it helps someone else too :)
very useful🥳
I really enjoyed the video! It would be great if you could talk about your major!
Was Ontario Hall your first option for residence? What are the chances you get your top choice?

Any Safety issues or times you felt unsafe in London, Ontario or Western?
Not in my opinion, but I have heard stories from my peers about times that they felt unsafe
@@EricSun20 Could we know about it?
Please am a Cameroonian and want to know if anyone has an idear on the fee I can pay to offer chemical engineering
Hi, do you know if the computer science program is good (great video!!)
Not that I know of, but many of my friends in the program do seem to like it/find it to be good :)
@@EricSun20 Great! Thanks for the feedback!
At which part of your studying process do you get your MD title? After doing your Bachelors’ or after you finish your programmes at McMaster?
I officially get the title after I finish the MD program at McMaster :)

is it good university for someone who choose psychology?

Hi, any idea on how good the political science program is ??
Hey Abdullah, not sure specifically. I do have friends that did like the program :)
Is the 90+ average thing still true? Because I’m applying for residence and the website says specifically that high school marks don’t impact your placement.
i think they do. i read somewhere that a 90+ would assure a rez youve marked in your top 3
Why did I hear that it was 95% or above?

This is Western University in Canada not Australia.
Hi!!! thank you for this video. I am going to study medicine in western this fall year, however can guide towards what kind of courses did you take?
Hey Pahel, I'm not sure what the med curriculm at Western is like, but I am sure that student services will have more info on that. Try contacting them!
What was your high school average going into western? Also what marks go towards that average, all of them?
Your top 6 marks, though some of those have to be from required courses. Like some programs require you to have English and Math as part of your top 6 :)
Exactly, Atithi has it perfect^. My average going into university was 99%
@@EricSun20 Wow!
Is Western good for social science?
Hey Angelina, I'm not too sure because I did a science degree! I would look online at forums like Reddit for more information :)
All you need one thing to enjoy university : hefty bank balance in father's bank account... nothing else haha
Everyone should have a safe place to share their truth
hi how is the engineering program at Western?
Not sure I haven't heard too much about it :(

Hey bro can I get the email of this university please?
Ok but your experiences are different from most other people, wouldn’t call it accurate
