Okay Dr. Seuss, imma keep it going then.. The V8 won’t let you be late. The V8 is good for a date. The V8 will let you skate. The V8 is your best mate. The V8 has good traits. The V8 helps procreate. The V8 is no mistake. The V8 for God’s sake. Anybody got anymore? If so keep it going. 😂
I had an STI, traded in for one of these. Much better for some of the long haul driving I've had to do of late and I've found myself taking more trips. I do miss the absolute confidence in cornering with that amazing AWD system and being able to wind out the car more on the streets and highway without looking down and seeing triple digits.
I went from '19 STI to '21 STI Limited to '22 Launch Edition then '23 Ultra White & now my current spec '23 Infrared with white leather only 104 cars ever made in that combo.
Too funny, traded my STI for a 23 IS500, just traded my 23 for 24 because I wanted the USB and Red interior they had in the showroom. Loved my STI, and wish I could afford both, but don't regret the trade in the slightest. The STI was awesome but beats the crap out of you in an hour or more commute!
Man that 0 to 60 time is super impressive! Also shout out to that spare tire lol that interior is right up my alley, I feel like if the Type S had those seats both front and rear it would be a much better vehicle, I'd be all over the IS500 if they offered it with a manual gearbox.
Great video , the V8 in the 500 is sweet, but at almost $70,000 for a car with an interior so outdated there are many other manufacturers to shop. But the V8 is what keeps this vehicle in the game.
Great review! Thanks for remembering the Sport S+ and Manual setting! It gives those who do not know the opportunity to see the incredible versatility of the car. (Dr. Jekyll vs. Mr. Hyde 😈) Additionally, thanks for pointing out the need to let the car fully warm up in order to maximize its performance. Several journalists did not do their research and the conclusions at the end (about the performance) were incorrect. I only drive mine in Sport S+ and Manual, because it's so. freaking. fun! The gears are tall as hell and on mountain runs, you're only working in 2nd and 3rd until it's time to calm down and go home. 🙂Other owners have complained about the cool seats and the weak fan. Mine doesn't have the problem, but apparently there's an air redirection device you can order off of Amazon to fix that issue. Lastly, you cannot go wrong with the IS350. I had an '06 IS350 and a '16 IS350 FSport and they were awesome! If you do get one (MY 2021+), make sure it has the Dynamic Handling Package. It's standard on the 500, but optional for the 350. Thanks for posting, glad you had a great time with the car!
Its a dedicated toy that drives like a buick. I had a caviar 350 awd F and my major issue is with the trunk lid being a half inch off the back glass. You wash it and you end up with major condensation inside the gauge cluster. Hopefully its not an issue, but I anticipated electrical issues at some point from the moisture.
I’m glad you like the Lexus. I love mine. Your wife might want to test drive the Lexus nx. That’ll be perfect for her and the kids. Smooth ride, more room for the kiddos and pure luxury.
Nice man! I had a car just like that a Launch Edition only 500 units ever made bought it January 2022. You have to go to the Detroit Lexus Toyota meet this Saturday at the Lexus Velodrome on Mack Ave.
I had the Launch Edition as well, wasn’t my cup of tea but was able to sell it 8 months later after buying it and broke even. Thing bored the hell out of me but the quality was awesome.
I had an IS 350 F Sport RWD before I had my IS 500, and I would say the V-8 is totally worth it for an enthusiast. The IS 350 was a great car though, very enjoyable to drive and a good daily. The IS 500 is a good daily, too, but it costs more at the pump. lol
So I ended up going with a 2024 GT premium mustang fully speced out it’s as close to a dark horse as you can get. I was going to do the integra type s but I really wanted a v8 as I still have my big turbo STI so still a 4 cylinder. A first I wanted an IS F 500 but it doesn’t have the 10 speed like the mustang and that trans shifts so dang fast. I have watched your other videos we were talking about the GT350 and your Camaro.
@@steve8803 Your comment insinuates it means nothing. I assure you it does. It does 0-60 in 4.4. If you don’t like it, don’t buy one. But don’t be a hater.
@@steve8803Eventhough it might be similar in weight to a mustang, it still drives like a much smaller car do it's length being so much smaller. I drove one and was very surprised. I have also driven a 5.0 stang and it felt huge due to it's never ending hood.
The paddle shifter's lack of response on the IS500 is pathetic-it takes the fun out of it. Automatics, in my opinion, are all the same-soulless and dull regardless of what vehicle they are.

Love the IS platform. Have an IS 350 AWD F Sport and it is rock solid. Would like an IS500, but need AWD for winter driving. Great review as always!

Yes sirrr... I have a Borla Type S exhaust in the basement right now. I hope to install it this Friday. The IS500 is somewhat of a sleeper 🎉
That should sound amazing
I have the same exhaust installed since April. I get so many compliments.
Closing in on 14K subs. Man, you've been on a roll lately. 👏

Nice review bro!!! IS5 is pretty fkn sweet. Hoping they update the interior but the v8 might not even be around anymore next year
I’ll be sad to see it go. This does need an update badly
It'll be around for 25

I appreciate you. Thanks for starting with me
this is crazy. i am watching this video at 1118am and your video is at 1118am
This car is so tempting! I too just wish it has a manual. On a side not, wow Michigan roads might be worse that what we have in Illinois!
😆 these roads are terrible on this street. All they do is dump asphalt into the potholes. I would really enjoy one if it had a manual
I have an rc350 you won't regret the is350 and not alot of people on yt have a lexus it will bring in new viewers
Great personal review.
It's not a v8 but the is350 would still be good. I say go for it. They have decent aftermarket support too if you wanted to modify it.
Have gotten over 30 mpg on a long highway drive in an LC500
😮
One of my favourite Lexus models, how ever the family won’t fit 😢

Nice! The AT in the IS500 needs to be faster.
Production of the GS, including the GSF, ended in 2020.
Sad it’s gone
My 5.0 mustang was getting 18 mpg driven quickly. Miss my gal. 😢
Is the transmission “good”? I’ve read that the 8 speed in the RC-F and the 10 speed in the LC500 are better
It was slow to shift
Great looking car. Toyota/Lexus winning right now.
Big time
@@QueTheChaotic wish Honda had a V8 .. especially in a truck based SUV
Is it better than Acura TLX Type S? More steering feel or less then TLX Type S?
The TLX had better driving inputs such as steering feel and better handling. I would rather live with the Lexus though
lexus on top
Wonder what will happen to this car, highly doubt it will be around much longer
The rumor-mill says it will be around for 2025 as well and will get a mild refresh. As of now, we do not know what *mild* means.
At this point just get the RCF lmao the back is barely bigger and the two door RFC looks SSOOOO much better.
Surface of the Moon Replica lolol
I laughed out loud too! The city needs to seriously fix those things...
Is more faster than lc500 or
I haven’t driven the LC500

Drop a V8 in a car the size of a Civic. Seems like a good idea lol.
@salimrandall it weighs significantly more at around 3900 pounds, similar to a mustang.
@@steve8803 Length and width of a civic. Small car big motor.
