Interesting that you mentioned the body roll, especially since these new cars are most likely from gta 6, meaning we can have an early idea of what the new handling might be like
The suspension is KILLER smooth, and I loved the way it behaves
Yeah I like the handling in newer cars better than the old ones. Love the suspension in Dorado.
Because tech ever evolves..... Of course the cars made new in the games engine are going to be better that the old ones.....
I understand you aren't from America so I know why it's lost on you why it had a Corvette 5.7L in it. The SS moniker for Chevrolet means Super Sport. It's the top trim available, top performance package. They even had a 454SS version of the Chevrolet Silverado OBS truck, a SS newer Silverado, a SS Trailblazer, a Cobalt SS etc. It was to carry on the tradition of top muscle car performance from the 60s/70s. The mid 90s Impala SS was a straight sleeper. No one knew to expect it to own the streets.
There's also the chevy ss, it's name made no sense.
@@renypayne11 Yeah, it was a Holden Commodore imported from Australia. Rebranded as a Chevy SS here in the States.
I have a 96 ss impala I took a 2019 zo6 corvette motor and transmission and put it in my impala games changer

Back in 2001 my father who was a huge Chevy/GM enthusiast caught his eye on a beautiful ‘96 Impala for sale here in Texas. It was red though… Impalas of this generation only came in 3 colors.
Turns out it was owned by Regency Conversions, most notable for GM van and truck conversions. This was the CEOs personal car.
He bought it new, originally painted black, then completely stripped and painted Victory Red, same color as Corvettes of that time.
He didn’t stop there. Tore apart the drivetrain, replaced the engine with a built LT4 and a Vortech supercharger and all supporting mods. Pushing over 600 to the wheels on high boost.
Car had 22k miles on it. Bought it for $25k. Father sold it to some guy in Italy for $80k early 2009 after it had won just about every show it touched including Impalafest held at the GM plant here in Arlington. Featured in several magazines including Super Chevy.
Shame this wasn’t included in the DLC. Some people don’t realize what a beast that car is IRL. It’s basically the Buick Grand National of the 90s.
I drove it one time. Trying to contain all that power with all that weight and body roll I thought I was in bed with my ex…

Agree, I’m definitely not purchasing, Rockstar have messed up with a lot off car releases, even with the Karin Asterope GZ, they never added no damn suspension options, like sometimes I believe they do this shih on purpose

@@vinniemartinez6125 bro they added Formula 1 cars amongst the hoonicorn and other rally cars they didn't need to add. ( which I'm happy about growing up watching autosports) that said I'm sure 6 is going to be the best for whips. Hell I am just remembering they even added the Ghostbusters car, DeLorean and Batmobile. If they add the jaguar from Harold and maude.... I literally would be over joyed (look it up)

This, this is a totally a buy, wish it had taxi liveries, but yeah, I wanted this car in the game for a long time and now it is here, hope to see more tbh, also love a police variant too tbh

Chevy Caprices no longer in service as a taxi. Ford Crown Vics are still being used as taxis in Miami.

I think Rockstar added this car for the Midnight Club players. The Impala SS was quite the prominent car in Midnight Club Los Angeles

0:42 “who else dose that” HSV dose, in aus we had holden special vehicles, that modified Holden’s (kinda like Brabus, Hennessy ect.) and they put an American v8 in all of them. The latest few had the 6.0L, 6.2L V8 and the LSA all in 4 doors, wagons, and utes

U should do videos like this going through the modifications early like u are doing and once they come out u should do one where u make a build that u like using all the time u need, it’s something that u think it’s boring but i personally (and think other people of the community too) think it’s really interesting and entertaining

My dad had one of these when I was a kid back in the 90s. It was the ultimate sleeper. In fact, he didn't have the impala SS, which was an awesome car and not exactly a sleeper if you knew what you were looking at, but my dad had a police package Caprice classic. It was just as potent as the impala SS, without all of the sporty trim features that made it look cool. it looked like an old ladies grocery getter, it was a boat, but it had a hefty V8 and could lay rubber down like you wouldn't believe. That was the ultimate sleeper!

You keep saying 5.7 like that’s a big motor, but that’s only a 350. Some old Cadillacs had a 500 cube motor, 460s were common in trucks, there was also a 455 Trans Am at one point. Big displacement Torque is smooth, but without the revs they struggle for performance.
It seems to line up with an upcomign drag racing gamemode. The mods on this car fit the idea well and allow the rest of the tuner cars fit in. So most likely the rest of the cars will have drag tunes in the future
My grandparents had a white Caprice wagon of that generation. It had 350 in it just like the SS had but it wasn't the high-po version. It and the SS version wasn't rapid, even for the time.

Not really. Stock they are decently quick for 90s standards, but that slushbox really kills any performance and while the LT sounds good, that’s about it. You can swap for a bigger motor, but all you really do is create a burnout machine (if that’s your thing, cool).

The 1996 Impala SS had the same engine as the police interceptor. Not the fastest car ever, but definitely fun to drive!

If it was for the top muscle cars like the STX, dominator GT, and ZX the SZ would be viable in races competitive against the Impaler LX, Dominator GTT, clique, Dominator RC, sabre turbo custom and ect
When these Impalas came out....eveycar new car coming out was front wheel drive. These impalas were rear wheel drive (fir whipping shittys) and had a powerful engine. They looked nice. They were very much adored by car people
If you're impressed by a 5.7L V8 in a 90s sedan, you should see what they were putting in sedans in the late 60s and early 70s.

the impala ss wheel was specific to it, however there was a 16 inch version used on the fwd monte carlos, and impalas a couple years afterwards

This car should have been called a variant of the Merit and no the Impaler, but Rockstar just forgot they already had the Merit from GTA 4

@bnotethaballa7490 well Hella Flush is on PC using trainers on single player buy as far as cars like the Hellfire cop car and people having it so early is through glitches. One glitch is called Director Mode Online (DMO) and another is Give Cars To Friends (GCTF)

Hella, in Australia weve got holden and their ss line up which is the basic v8 model holden commodore which is a sedan and in 2000 holden introduced the 5.7L ls1 to the ss then later on in 2006 i think it was they introduced the 6.0L ls2 and then in 2013 we got the 6.2L ls3
