In which nothing was resolved or accomplished. What did happen, however, was Kim Jung Un was elevated & seen as an equal to the US, a country with a democracy it has successfully upheld for 229 yrs. No other country in the world can say that. Trump stroked Kim's ego & gave him international prestige w/o having to earn it. Kim, a man who has starved his own ppl, kept them silent & submissive in a police state, murdered members of his own family, and disallows anyone in NK from speaking out against him. Kim should not be trusted or treated as an ally, bc he's a ruthless tyrant. There was a reason why previous administrations did not want to meet with NK. They cannot be trusted and should not be recognized as an ally, and certainly not an equal.
Trump performed this fruitless "stunt" solely for his own purposes - perhaps to be eligible for the Nobel Peace prize. His narcissm has blinded him to the notion that he is unstoppable & cannot be fooled. But the irony is only a fool would believe this.

How exactly does a agreement to DE-Nuke North Korea in any way shape or form constitute being "played" even if they don't follow through, Trump gave them NOTHING NADA zero. Typical liberal logic you have, stay mad that Trump did something no President in history could do... make the leader of North Korea meet and agree to DE-Nuke his nation.
Lol ok, well my typical liberal logic tells me that if Obama called Kim "talented" that people on your side's heads would be exploding. Just to briefly recount, Trump called Kim "fat and short" and "rocket man" on Twitter a mere couple months ago, but suddenly, now Kim (a brutal dictator) is "very talented" and has "run his country tough" and is a "great person" and "He trusts me" and "I trust him." How you could go from insulting him like that to utterly praising him within the span of a couple months is absurd. Basically, all Trump cares about is his own damn ego and what's most opportunistic for him in a given moment. That should be no secret at this point to anyone who has functioning brain cells. Not even a liberal or conservative thing. They signed a vague ass agreement that really doesn't actually do anything except give North Korea more leverage overall. There's nothing in the agreement that puts real pressure on NK to denuclearlize, but the agreement does say that US and South Korea will completely stop the joint military exercises. All Trump really has done is legitimize Kim and his brutal regime by heaping undeserving praises on it, also while giving them far more leverage in the agreement. That doesn't add up to a real win for us. That's what I would call a win for NK. Trump just changed his whole tune when he realized this whole summit would make him look really good, because of course, he's the first president to do this. That's it. He's in it for himself.
On a related note, would you please tell me why Trump would want to not keep Iran denuclearized (*cough* Obama) but wants to try and do that to North Korea? You don't find that inconsistent at all? Saying that Iran wasn't complying (which wasn't even true, they were) and then he goes on to say that NK is "no longer a nuclear threat" like he has any idea what's actually happening, LOL. This was a photo op more than anything else and demonstrated that Trump's ego and narcissism are what dictate his behavior and decisions in any given moment.
If you're trying to make one of the most hardcore dictators in the world come to peace with the world do you think being insulting to them would help towards that if they had finally agreed to meet and sit down and be RATIONAL???? I thought the world was fucked when this man become the president of the United States, even with the recent issues in Iran this moment was amazing to watch and I was shocked. I thought this would end in a couple of months with destruction raining down, not diplomacy. And I am happy to find out I was to be pleasantly surprised. Well done Trump
