They are generally the same experience. Different people review different copies so that foot note probably stemmed from lack of foresight. If you have both versions and trade between them then you essentially end up with 2 copies of the same game.
Sure, not many copies produced. But thats for the more exclusive titles. Also you can sell them used for a good price after you played them as well! I buy used 3DS games for like 10-20 bucks and sell them mostly for the same price.

I was honestly I was expecting kid Icarus to be in the top 5 because of the fact it has got amazing characters, music, story, weapons and the graphics for the 3ds was amazing at that time and still is
I wouldn't count remastered games on this list as they are just old games from old consoles touched up and made playable on a new one. Its not like they were made initially for the 3DS so, in my opinion, they don't really qualify as "3DS games".
The quality of 3D viewing can make or break a game's initial review so it varies from perspective and if the game released before the models of 2DS and New 3DS were ever accessible. It was a wildcard for review scores during certain times of any new 3DS release. Pokemon Sun & Moon did away with 3D for the majority yet the scores never took that much of a hit but in X&Y it was a mixed bag since there were slight performance issues. Just some personal speculation.
Streets of rage 2 is a Sega Genesis game. Just get a fucking emulator, and while you are on it GET STREETS OF RAGE 3 same goes with sonic 2 , get an emulator and get sonic 3.......

If you want to get technical then yes, they aren't 3DS games, but they're worth the mention because many people use these lists not to actually find out what the best 3DS games are, but as a bit of a buyer's guide, which games they should be keeping an eye on. Though, I absolutely would agree that Ocarina of Time 3D does not deserve the #1 spot because of this fact. It's a great game, but that doesn't mean it's remake deserves to be on another list yet again.
Glad to see Bravely Default on here. That game was a true masterpiece, and if you like amazing storylines and gameplay, I highly recommend it. Also, its sequel Bravely Second is somehow even better.
I know this video is 5 years old but personally, I would be alright if Resident Evil: Revelations made it on the list. Yes, it did get ported to other consoles and PC, but this game was made for the 3DS handheld yo begin with. Plus, the graphics for this game still holds up, IMO.
Master piece is putting it way high but it should be on a top 25 yes. My three huge problems, the music SUCKS, the carry limit for loot is just three, and your loot can be destroyed by anyone's attacks.

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I like Fates more than Echoes and Awakening. Echoes is really interesting (I love the exploration, full voice acting, weapon arts, and Mila's Turnwheel), but I liked the pair-up mechanics, varied map/mission structure, weapon advantages/disadvantages, and marriage system more. I get that some people hated the marriage/child stuff, but I thought it was a lot of fun trying to pass on the perfect set of skills/class options to children. I prefer Fates over Awakening because the pairing mechanic is much more balanced, I don't like breaking weapons, My Castle is fun, and Fates overall seemed less generic to me. I also am pretty biased towards the part animal characters, and I like the Wolfskin and Kitsune more than the Taguels.
I agree. Fates is the supreme FE game for the 3DS. and Echoes is a good game but it sucks balls compared to Fates and Awakening..In comparison, Echoes feels so limited, so castrated, so easy to beat, and the DLC is crap

This is another reason that I hate PlayScores. 1:48 Somehow Spirit of Justice's PlayScore is a little bit higher than the Trilogy's, but Dual Destinies's PlayScore isn't even close. They are going against their own methods by calling Dual Destinies "better" than the Trilogy.
Same here. My 3 favorites are Trials & tribunals Investigations 2, Spirit of Justice. feel like weakest in the series are Justice for All, Investigations 1 and Dual destinies. All the games are still good tough. Still while they where kinda weak they introduced some of my favorite characters: Pearly, Blackquill and Kay Faraday and Athena.
+Raidoom Regarding Fantasy Life, I recommend purchasing the DLC off he bat. It's not necessary but it does add a lot more to the base game with a few perks at the start and a hell of a lot more when you reach Lvl 50 (main story must be completed as well).

I'm surprised Ocarina beat Link Between Worlds. Although it was my first LoZ game I loved dearly, I think LBW had everything perfect including utilizing the system's 3D feature really well. Unlike 97% of the rest of the library
Top 3ds games I have played: Style Boutique 3ds- endless varieties of realistic fashions and makeup hair options to customising decor of your own room, Style Boutique 2 (Fashion Forward) 3ds- amped up gameplay with more colourfulness which may seem girlier but once you get into the expanded locations and to-dos to unlock within the game what with new and enhanced varieties of fashions it really is a creatively limitless game, Mystery Case Files series- amazing soundtrack with easygoing gameplay that is simplesque yet full of atmosphere and great art and backstory, Animal Crossing New Leaf- for obvious reasons. I have also enjoyed Kirby, Mario 3d land seems well made but I never ever play it after the first few attempts.
Mario Maker 3D probably would’ve been better than the Wii U version if it had implemented level sharing. There was literally no reason for them to exclude it, and it rendered the port kind of pointless. Would’ve been so awesome to have that game on the go.

Some people give some criticism on remasters being included on a list, but let me ask you this; has everyone since the release day of the 3DS version of an old title played the original version? I would also imagine that your kid, or a young sibling would prefer a graphically superior, quality-of-life gameplay changed, and portable version of the classic. It helps that the classic is not only great, but set the bar for future games (like Ocarina of Time for Demon's Souls).
A list like this deserves nuance for the older generations and younger. Being part of the "slightly" Older generation I've bought and played most of the remake titles already and would like to see more of the original titles get their due. Still, seeing this list from a younger generation perspective I can image saying "No this game is just a great time, hands down. If you haven't touched it you should." However it's too much to expect from a rinky dink list like this for nuance.

For those of you who have never played "Final Fantasy Tactics" for the 3DS, you have missed one of the top turn based RPG's ever. It beats out many of the RPG's that are on this list because you have to use really good strategy in order to beat the game. The best way to describe it is like playing a Final Fantasy game that is chess based in how you play. This should have definitely been on the top 25 list. A lot of people also mentioned that a game called "Fantasy Life" should have been on this list.
I think it's seriously overated. However, this is comig from someone who never around to experience A Link To The Past. I'm no sure how much of an achievement Link Between Worlds is but whatever.....

Hmm, you're right about Tales of the Abyss (I forgot it was a port) but SMT Devil Survivor 2 is an enhanced version and added enough new content for the game to stand on its own, unlike the carbon copy remasters of Zelda or those old ass sega games (it's a fucking joke to have Outrun or Streets of Rage in a list like this one). I will have to erase Tales of the Abyss from my list and update it. I didn't include Xenoblade Chronicles because it's also a port that adds nothing new to the game. The only reason I bought my first portable video game console a week ago brand New NEW3DS PIKACHU EDITION on June 16, 2020 is Luigi’s mansion 2 dark moon. Of course I added to my list. zelda ocarina of time and majora’s mask, batman blackgate, castlevania mirror of fate and lego star wars the force awakens. and maybe I say maybe add to my game list metal gear 3. What do you think of this last title? metal gear solid the twin snakes was a good remake in game cube and metal gear 2 was great but metal gear 3 on PS2 I didn't like at all. Would you think to give it a try at NINTENDO 3DS?
I gotta agree with the crowd. Feels like a waste to put all of these remasters on here. There are so many unsung native 3DS games that could've used the exposure. Anyways, if you were going to inevitably go with a remaster at the top then I would have given it to Majora's Mask instead. The 3DS changes made that game better, the water temple was improved vastly in OoT by having the iron boots as a touch button, but the entire core gameplay of MM was improved by changing the time system to hourly and adding in more checkpoints as well as allowing for a fully utilized camera that you could control (I know that the camera control stick wasn't released when OoT was out but still). One truly utilized the 3DS's capabilities to make a much better game. The other felt like the changes made were more out of necessity (where else were they going to map the boots to?) as opposed to actual innovation. I'm just saying. I bullshit and bullshit but I've played OoT on the 3ds like over 20 times and it's easily my personal favorite game to play on the system so like yea I'm guilty too.
Was hopeful to see something new and good, just saw things I already own, own on another system or already hate. You guys really shouldn't include remakes.

I'm surprised Ocarina beat Link Between Worlds. Although it was my first LoZ game I loved dearly, I think LBW had everything perfect including utilizing the system's 3D feature really well. Unlike 97% of the rest of the library

Top 3ds games I have played:
Style Boutique 3ds- endless varieties of realistic fashions and makeup hair options to customising decor of your own room, Style Boutique 2 (Fashion Forward) 3ds- amped up gameplay with more colourfulness which may seem girlier but once you get into the expanded locations and to-dos to unlock within the game what with new and enhanced varieties of fashions it really is a creatively limitless game, Mystery Case Files series- amazing soundtrack with easygoing gameplay that is simplesque yet full of atmosphere and great art and backstory, Animal Crossing New Leaf- for obvious reasons.
I have also enjoyed Kirby, Mario 3d land seems well made but I never ever play it after the first few attempts.

Mario Maker 3D probably would’ve been better than the Wii U version if it had implemented level sharing. There was literally no reason for them to exclude it, and it rendered the port kind of pointless. Would’ve been so awesome to have that game on the go.

Some people give some criticism on remasters being included on a list, but let me ask you this; has everyone since the release day of the 3DS version of an old title played the original version?
I would also imagine that your kid, or a young sibling would prefer a graphically superior, quality-of-life gameplay changed, and portable version of the classic. It helps that the classic is not only great, but set the bar for future games (like Ocarina of Time for Demon's Souls).
A list like this deserves nuance for the older generations and younger. Being part of the "slightly" Older generation I've bought and played most of the remake titles already and would like to see more of the original titles get their due.
Still, seeing this list from a younger generation perspective I can image saying "No this game is just a great time, hands down. If you haven't touched it you should." However it's too much to expect from a rinky dink list like this for nuance.

An underrate gem which deserves a spot on this list is Resident Evil: Revelations.
For those of you who have never played "Final Fantasy Tactics" for the 3DS, you have missed one of the top turn based RPG's ever. It beats out many of the RPG's that are on this list because you have to use really good strategy in order to beat the game. The best way to describe it is like playing a Final Fantasy game that is chess based in how you play. This should have definitely been on the top 25 list. A lot of people also mentioned that a game called "Fantasy Life" should have been on this list.

Why do you think A link between worlds is overrated? It is Zelda with Megaman style of picking any dungeon/weapon you want in the beginning. I played a link to past long ago and it is a challenging game which makes it good.

Them, on the nds dragon quest V a game already released for the Snes captivated me on the old rpg genre and to this date I consider it one of my all time favorite games (a game I would've totally missed if not for the ds release) and thanks to that I got really into bravery default (one of my top 10 3ds games) also ever since I was a kid I thought how amazing it would be if i could play ocarina of time on something like a Game boy color now look where we are today! Sure a remaster but for crying out loud what I used to play on my living room a whole grand adventure now fits on my pocket! I'm not saying you're wrong there should totally be a 3ds only release list but re masters are not the worst thing that has happened to the 3ds.
You call remasters bullshit, say they shouldn't be counted as games, and then put Tales of Abyss and and Devil Survivor on your list? If you are going to add games from older plataforms anyway, I see no reason why Ocarina or Majora's Mask would not deserve a spot on a list as well. They are both really good.
However, there are some very interesting looking games on your list. Hum... I have not played any Imageepoch game since Luminous Arc. I might give Stella Glow or 7th Dragon a try one of these days.
Also...Given how many JRPGs are on your list, I sugest that you give Xenoblade Chronicles and the Etrian Odissey series a try if you haven't yet ;)
Hmm, you're right about Tales of the Abyss (I forgot it was a port) but SMT Devil Survivor 2 is an enhanced version and added enough new content for the game to stand on its own, unlike the carbon copy remasters of Zelda or those old ass sega games (it's a fucking joke to have Outrun or Streets of Rage in a list like this one). I will have to erase Tales of the Abyss from my list and update it. I didn't include Xenoblade Chronicles because it's also a port that adds nothing new to the game. I really recommend Stella Glow and 7th Dragon, both very good games that didn't get enough love
Everybody knows Ocarina and Majora's mask are great games, but they've already been praised enough in their day and age, most people have already played them, and the remasters add nothing new to those games aside from slightly better graphics. They dont deserve to snatch the spot from actual exclusive games that should be the highlights of the 3DS, the main reason to buy one. ,

The only reason I bought my first portable video game console a week ago brand New NEW3DS PIKACHU EDITION on June 16, 2020 is Luigi’s mansion 2 dark moon. Of course I added to my list. zelda ocarina of time and majora’s mask, batman blackgate, castlevania mirror of fate and lego star wars the force awakens. and maybe I say maybe add to my game list metal gear 3.

I gotta agree with the crowd. Feels like a waste to put all of these remasters on here. There are so many unsung native 3DS games that could've used the exposure. Anyways, if you were going to inevitably go with a remaster at the top then I would have given it to Majora's Mask instead. The 3DS changes made that game better, the water temple was improved vastly in OoT by having the iron boots as a touch button, but the entire core gameplay of MM was improved by changing the time system to hourly and adding in more checkpoints as well as allowing for a fully utilized camera that you could control (I know that the camera control stick wasn't released when OoT was out but still). One truly utilized the 3DS's capabilities to make a much better game. The other felt like the changes made were more out of necessity (where else were they going to map the boots to?) as opposed to actual innovation. I'm just saying.
I bullshit and bullshit but I've played OoT on the 3ds like over 20 times and it's easily my personal favorite game to play on the system so like yea I'm guilty too.
Was hopeful to see something new and good, just saw things I already own, own on another system or already hate. You guys really shouldn't include remakes.
