From a SOTS member, we had no idea that we were in any kind of "competition" 😂 We always have a 5th quarter post game show for our fans and were very surprised and excited when the Jukebox stuck around (In my 5 years marching at Troy, it's never happened) We were very tired from a long 14 hour day, but we always try to bring our best for those that stay to hear us after the game! We had no idea we were competing there, we were just having our normal post game fun, and were very happy to be able to share that stage with the Jukebox!
But this moment will go down in history because of SU's reputation, now folks are probably searching for more clips of Troy. As a former bandsman, I have not seen many PWI play songs that gets the crowd jamming. I just listed to Troy's Cold Hearted and loved it. I am definitely a fan now!
A Troy did their thing. Its ALL about fun. But at HBCU's we really come to see our bands do their thing .. But to be honest Troy held their own. They did their thing!

I am Graduate of Troy University and I agree you can’t sleep on Troy but I love Marching compared to Corp style. They definitely have a sound but that Jukebox!! I like the fact it was done in a respectful manner.
Was standing at Troy's band area recording I missed most of Southern's first song but I got Troy's first song and the rest of the 5th quarter. Best experience I've ever had at at a Troy game.
Those in the AEA community know about Troy! I had the GREAT privilege of marching in an HBCU band program, but belonged to SED. The Troy State Bruhs was ALWAYS down! Keep Striving!!

My son has wanted to be a SOTS member since 8th grade and worked his but off. Wouldn't apply but to 3 places and once he was excepted he auditioned and that was it. This was his first game as a trojan. He is having the best time. I love how bands enjoy each other and have fun while the other is playing. They respect each other's talents and it's a joy to watch.
Troy sounds pretty good. I have to give Troy credit for battling Southern. The Jukebox known for handing out L's. SU is so diverse they could have blown Troy out the water but they took it easy.
Please, don't be racial about this. Let's be more appreciative that finally our culture is accepted. Not only that, it's more enjoyable to hear the acceptance. It's all music.

This was a regular post-game show for Troy. Southern just stayed and kept playing. Troy was kind enough to accommodate the Jukebox and the band and crowd cheered it at the end.

This wasn’t a battle to try to crease Troy this was merely an exhibition of two programs. For a game like this you don’t bring out the heavy hitters. Just enjoy the music man. People try to judge too much and it makes no sense especially in a situation like this
