Why should the family be asked to make a donation?! On. what grounds? The publishing deal was between the family and the publisher. Nothing to do with the charity. These are the legal facts of the matter.

    • @glamdolly30

      @@artbargestudio On the grounds that the family deliberately deceived the public about proceeds from the book going to Capt Tom's charity!
      If they had been honest and upfront that they alone would pocket every penny of profit from that money spinning book - a staggering £1.4 million - you may have a point. But they deliberately hid that fact to get book sales from people who only purchased it because they believed they were benefiting a charity.
      It is highly doubtful that book would have raised half that huge amount, had the public known it was a cynical money-making project by the late Capt Tom's own - already wealthy - family, to further fill their pockets on his memory! As the old adage states: "It's the cover-up that gets ya!"

However, if she had made people aware that the revenue from book sales were going to line her pockets rather than to charitable causes, the book would not have sold a single copy and therefore she would not have gotten rich from misleading silly people. Let’s face it - nobody bought the book because they were interested in an old man’s life story 🤣

    • @glamdolly30
      @glamdolly30 11 часов назад +1

      Exactly right, there is no way that a book about Capt Tom would have raised anything like £1.4 million, or even half that amount, had the public known every single penny it raised was not benefiting charity but was solely going to his already wealthy daughter and son-in-law!
      The family cynically promoted it dishonestly, giving the public the entirely false impression it was published to benefit charitable causes. Yet they donated not a single penny from its profits, and instead trousered the lot, an eye-watering, almost one million and a half quid, themselves. This was clearly fraud!
      This was no oversight, as confirmed by the fact the daughter and son in law were invited to make a belated charity donation not once but twice, and both times declined to do so. They obviously care more about the cash, than dragging Capt Tom's name and legacy through the mud, and that is shameful, shocking and very sad. Thanks to his grotty, money-grubbing daughter, Capt Tom will now be doing circuits for all eternity - spinning in his grave.
      His rich daughter, who lives in a mansion, is not any kind of charitable cause - and neither is the luxury health spa for private use she built in their expansive grounds with public money unwittingly donated thanks to her father - which was subsequently ordered to be demolished. as they had not sought planning permission.
      The arrogance, greed and entitlement of this couple is off the chart! However they will undoubtedly find that ill-gotten cash is cursed, and profoundly regret ever scamming the late Capt Tom's name for personal profit. Karma is real!

    Well done to the Sun (as opposed to cheerleader Piers Morgan) for following through on this story.
    Yes, this disgusting family have scored an obscene amount of cash by deception - but they have lost any “status” which is all-important to such pretentious snobs, permanently.
    Can’t imagine they’ll enjoy their annual Christmas ski-ing holidays nearly so much with everyone else shunning and pointing at them.
