Thanks for Video. Is the track from Lower Tama to Upper Tama difficult as does not show whether slippery on scree slopes? And is that a person that has fell down on the track at 6:01?

The first part is ok, but the climb up the slope is a bit tricky if you're not used to the gravel. It's definitely worse on the way down, but much easier than the scree slope and some of the other tricky sections on the tongariro crossing (it's a lot shorter). Yes I think from memory the person had slipped a bit, but then just stayed sitting there for a while until we'd passed them. They were fine and made it back down safely.

How wqs it? Decent weather? What would you rate the track? Is it easy or advanced ....

@@shortstorysnapshots8707 the track is easy/medium. A few climbs but ok for fit people. On my trip there was no snow yet. Still dry. And there weren't that many visitors on the track yet due to current climate in world. Use good sports shoes if you are going to attempt soon whilst the snow and ice hasn't settled in yet. The weather was still and sun was out during my trip. And take water and lunch. A decent length this track is so will be nice to have break near high point of climb. Take a jacket in case too. The track is well marked

Lovely video, nice steady camera work too!!! Do you know if there's a lot of snow on this track in September? Cheers, Nina

Thanks Amar for your reply! Typically I use a gimbal but on this hike I didn't take it, so it's a little jerkier than I would like :)
I think the best thing you can do is keep an eye on the National Park weather forecast for the weeks and months beforehand: www.metservice.com/mountain/tongariro-national-park.
Weather patterns can change drastically here from year to year (for example, last season the weather was relatively mild considering, and we still haven't really had a proper snow dump yet). Here's a couple of great resource son weather patterns in the park:
      www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/central-north-island/places/tongariro-national-park/about-tongariro-national-park/tongariro-weather/
      www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/forecast/modelclimate/tongariro-national-park_new-zealand_2180967
In September, you're probably looking at least at ice on the trail, if not snow but I haven't hiked in the park in those months yet so I wouldn't like to say definitely.

Thank you so much :) I usually get a bit dizzy when videos are handheld but even without the gimbal I had no issues with this video :)
