Robust sound, perhaps because of excellent tec. desire and a hall with very good ecustics. The recording of the solo voices was perfect.. Ok that is one thing. Another aspect of this recording is that I felt all the vocalists were perfect, precise and produced what the maestro required. I was very surprised with the marvelous soloists. All very secure in the tests. I thought that I would never hear a better interpretaion of the Rossini Stabat Mater than that recorded by Maestro Papano. Well, as I have said on other ocasions, "De Gustibus non Disputandum Est" A feeling, a cohesive unity, little details of interpretation of text and musical composition. This is what Maestro Papano likes and gets in his presentations. So there. Of the two recordings you can guess which of the twoI mentioned here I prefer and why. In this recording, in the "Inflamatus" you cannot hear the soprano's high Bflats with the orchestra so loud. This one of the high points that we wait for in this Stabat Mater of Rossini.
This conductor uses the "William Tell Overture" by Rossini also as filler for the recording. I wwould not do that before such a sacred piece such as the "Stabat Mater".
So beautiful! Great performance!
