The main center of the sea power of the Varangians was the legendary Arkona, on the coast of the Baltic sea (the Varangian sea), the owners of which were the famous Varangians.

The Varangian sea, the island of Ruyan. On the Northern Cape of the island was the famous Slavic city-Arkona. In the 9th century here comes the Prince of the obodrite Slavs-Rurik to become a temple warrior of the Arkona.
A few years later Rurik, destined to go East to Ladoga, to form a new powerful Slavic state and become the most influential and famous leader of the Slavic world.
