This car was sold at auction in June 2023 from Bring a Trailer auctions. The seller listed it as a GLE - which it definitely is not. Based on the VIN (given in the auction listing) this is a GXE that someone did an aftermarket leather interior in. So they said "highly original - not the original interior. 97 GXE didn't have the leather option AND the stitching is wrong in so many spots. Well done, but wrong. And the door "cushion" above the elbow rests - the seam margin and shape - totally wrong too. No pouch on the back of the front passenger seat. The steering wheel and shifter do not have the leather wrap. It doesn't have the 'wood' (yes, the 'wood' is plastic!) for the dash etc. A GLE would have had the CD player... All in all a pretty car - and 12,000 miles - sorry to have missed it even though it's not a GLE.
