Using the pie and tickle stick with baller and ante up, you can do 12 to the sentient statues, allowing you to kill them in one turn if you don't count the setup
fun fact: that final rat linebounce did a total of 72 damage! and considering linebounce "bounces" twice on a single target(when no other enemies are present) thats abt 36 single target dps
But hey, when there is a line of enemies that’s where the fun begins. Just pray to God that the first enemy isn’t a sharp if that’s the case. Well use a damage item just to get rid of the first anime, then fun time, but most likely the rest of them is gonna be low so you might as well use another, basically you don’t get fun either way
meanwhile, knight mains, crying in the corner because they only have a single air attack, can't attack multiple enemies with a single attack, and have to use items like Bomb or Storm Tea to replicate the power of Linebounce:
..watching this video i realised how "knight mains are meant for damage output while baller mains are made for crowd control and debuffs" was completely wrong
@@rsodrealm I mean, knight mains are pretty good. Unless you wanna attack an enemy in the back. Or if you wanna deal damage to all enemies. Or if there's a group of only flying enemies. (jokes aside, it's completely wrong because baller can hit every enemy except for the sharp enemies pretty sure, which there's only like two of ingame anyways.)
@@rsodrealmthat’s literally the point of both classes though?? knight has power stab which baller doesn’t have an equivalent to, and same for linebounce
even so, in preview #1 on the official channel theres a card called "cannonball" makes the ball last even on spiked enemies, and it's a confirmed passive so that means it applies to all ball attacks afaik linebounce stays winning even later in the game
@@FudgeFace-kt7wxi do hope a similar passive card comes for sword to deal with flying enemies, or at least having cannonball reworked into an active card. i don't think one class should overpower the other overall, they both have their merits. in the game's current state, knight seems to be optimised for concentrated damage while baller is optimised for crowd control, and both have counters that can be overrided with certain cards (sword throw for flying enemies and the upcoming cannonball for spiky enemies). idk though i main knight so i'm probably biased
i mean just get better with the timing and youre golden it might feel inconsistent at first but hey ante up takes getting used to (and feels miserable when using sword/dynamite/slingshot/rocket boots from my personal experience)
for some reason they removed the apple pies from the roadtown shop, maybe they're readding them in ch2 or so. it's likely gone because apple pies let you beat ch1 boss in 3-4 turns instead of being an actual challenge, hence why they're nerfing it.
original paper mario has a badge called spike shield that makes your jump safe on spikes. we have to get a version for the dodgeball, one of the dev trailers confirmed showed a cannonball card which makes the ball immune to spikes. we get spike shield in chapter 2 of paper mario. hopefully we get cannonball in chapter 2 here!
you know, in a sense you're right. having ante up and knight makes power stab on par with dynamite but is 1 SP cheaper. ...on the other hand, the ball has much more versatility at the moment, including basically a boardwipe if you get an opening strike. once there's an aoe sword skill (like quake hammer from paper mario) is when i'll consider ante up and knight, but for now im happy with how things are.
Thorns and Ante Up are the duo of perfect timing for great reward.

no, since the second hit still deals a single damage, similar to the normal ball
It only hit them once.
It will bounce twice on the same enemy, but it will do one damage because they didn’t want you to have fun…
It only happens when there is only one target. Basically you’re wasted to SP for the same amount of damage that you would’ve done with no SP
