Red Zone by the Star Club

MV/PV for the song "Red Zone". The video is from 1986 when the Japanese punk band Star Club was trying to expand internationally and had started touring and recording in Australia. The mini LP that was recorded there, "Ground Zero" has all sorts of newspaper clippings in the artwork about how they really weren't welcome there but it's kind of hard to read exactly what went down. It seems like some of the union workers at some halls they were to play at didn't approve of them either for being punk and/or just being Japanese. I don't know what the full story is though.

I saw these guys in Brisbane at Easts League Club. With the Hard-ons IIRC.
They were pretty good, their Sid Viscous/Billy Idol sneer was pretty down pat.

@battensoul you're totally correct. I went to Japan in 07 to see the Star Club's 30th anniversary show and people couldn't believe I'd travel that far to see them. (show was great btw)
