So simple and looks better than shop bought. another great idea well executed. Great work Dan
BRILLIANT!!
Thank you for sharing.
Two things I HATE about this project:
1. It needs a Buell emblem.
2. It needs to be mine!
Great job man, seriously great idea and fantastic outcome.
I'm definetely going to give this a shot
Thats awesome, I love to hear that
Clever you! A tip for colouring wood. If you like the see-through finish, and in a certain pattern...try this!
With that electric wood burner pen (I have no idea what the english word for it is! But looks like a soldering iron, only with a thin steel-thread loop) you make the pattern of your choise. Then use leather die in the colours you like. Just fill in the "fields" in your pattern and the "paint" will stay inside the "borders" Looks so cool! Makes sense?
Cheers!
Thanx mate yes I understand and that would look very cool
Hi mate, great project, i saw it and a lightbulb went off in my head! My friend has finally finished the nut and bolt restoration of the 1980 Mini Clubman 1275GT i helped him buy almost 20 years ago when he was 17 years old (first car, dream car) I'd like to make him one of these to gift him as a present to surprise him when he comes to show it off to me. Any chance you took note of the dimensions when you made it? Thanks in advance, and keep up the fantastic videos!
Love the bolt and scotchbrite, engine turned finish, hack. And the secret "important keys" department. It'd be wise to fix it to a masonry wall, with Phillips head dynabolts, and drill out the heads, to stop pissed off, would be, bike thieves from pulling it off the wall, and hear the jangle of more keys inside.
I was showing my son just last week, how to score, and bend Ali checker plate, with a grinder,
Is that wax you use on the grinder disc a specific product, or buffing wax. I'm guessing it helps to stop the disc from clogging.
Great hack packed vid.
