I can remember getting that set back in christmas 2006. I still have the Rolling stock pieces and the Over the track signals. I like the use the Furniture wagon as a tarped truck for goods trains.
This was a set I got for my birthday or something as a kid and it holds a special place in my heart despite not being anything too special. But I love the exclusive expressions on the engines and the exclusive rolling stock. 7/10 set with some 9/10 stuff
I know that feel. I use to have a Trackmaster Misty Island Rescue set that was set up in my playroom but one day unknown to me a few cleaners came to the house and when I came home from school ready to play with it the track was all gone.
Another thing I wanted to point out was that we also got other story sets before this. Particularly sets based on Percy takes the Plunge and James Goes Buzz Buzz. The same year this set came out also saw the release of the Rheneas and the Roller Coaster set. I would have liked to see a set based on Thomas to the Rescue with a quarry dust covered Thomas with a sad expression and a shocked, sick and green faced Diesel. Also I don’t know how many people are aware of this but at one point we were supposed to get a Limited Edition Henry based on Something in the Air. It was supposed to be released alongside the Limited Edition Better View for Gordon but never made it past the drawing board. Too bad they didn’t use that idea of Henry for a set. I would have loved to see more sets based on the television series episodes with exclusive items. That would have been awesome!
I think the set could use some major upgrades. Engines: Edward, tired Edward, Spencer, shocked Spencer, Gordon, sulking Gordon, Percy, and angry Percy. Rolling stock: 2 of Spencer's coaches, the furniture car, 3 express coaches, 2 milk tankers, and 2 sodorline cabooses. Destinations: Knapford station, Knapford yard, Welsworth station, the Dairy, Gordon's hill, the Duke and Duchess' summer house, and the Refreshments shop. Accessories: Sir Topham Hatt, the Duke and Duchess, 4 workers, 6 passengers, and 5 trees.
It all depends on how much you really the set. If I remember correctly, I bought my version when it was still in stores and I think the price was around $80, so there's definitely been a mark-up on yours. But if you really want the set, then I say go for it! :)
Not to mention, there was also Rheneas & The Roller Coaster set based on the series 7 episode and Limited Edition Better View For Gordon. Those sets have unique accessories.
Personally I like this set. It kinda reminds me of the James Goes Buzz Buzz set just because it comes with exclusive versions of Edward and Spencer with unique facial expressions much like James in his set. They are both medium sized sets and could have been bigger but oh well I don't care. Point is I enjoy this set and I've had it for over 10 years, wow seriously? 2006 was over 10 years ago. Has time flown since then. Anyways great review I love watching your videos and keep up the great work.
Small in size, but still looks a great addition to have for a Thomas Wooden Railway collector. I wish I had gotten this set when it was available. Nice little review.
I myself would give this set a slightly more positive review. Firstly, as far as model era HiT episodes go, they chose one of the most tolerable. Also, for all the exclusive models, I'd say this set is worth the purchase for a good price. The track layout could have been better, but in today's day and age when half the sets are rehashed figure-8s, it's at least good that they include three switches and a buffer (something which I find annoyingly hard to get despite their prevalence on real railways). Overall, while it might not be the best introduction to the system, I think most kids wouldn't mind this as an addition to their existing collection.
I agree! Let me be clear: I'm not bashing this set by any means; I actually think it's one of the better ones from its era in Thomas Wooden Railway history. However, when compared to how large-scale the "Edward the Great" episode was, this set was a bit of a letdown in my opinion. I should've mentioned the buffer because that is something we definitely don't see nowadays in any sets. Thanks for your thoughts!
i like seeing the discussions on sets i have also been watching your for vids for 6 years, and you have inspired me to get a youtube and start filming my own thomas and freinds adventures with take n play/take along. to make a long story short i am a long time fan and keep up the sweet vids
Although it is minimal in detail, I was captivated by the unique pieces of rolling stock and the over the track signal. I actually say the signal at a flea market, but the columns were not there. I feel it was a waste to have the signal without those columns.
ThomasWoodenRailway can you do a episode called the story of hiro. Hiro was a Japanese d51 class engine built in 1934 and was sent to sodor in 1949. Hiro worked in freight trains till 1956 and began breaking down so they had no choice but to abandon him in the bushes in a siding. Thomas told sir topham hat hat the story of hiro. So he sent rescuers to find hiro and they found him with vehicles and the construction vehicles were sent to find him same with Harvey and hank and vinnie to run 2 separate trains to take the trees away. Harvey was called with rocky pulled by the Scottish twins. Hiro was towed out and was then towed to the works. He will then work on sodor on freight trains and passenger trains in the winter. All engines went to the works to see him when he was done being restored. It took 5 months for his restoration to find parts and paint. All engines went to see him every week to check on him and supplies. Hiro needed a lot of repares. His paint was rusting, his smoke deflectors were broken and damaged his cab was chipped so was his buffers and wheels. Sixteen was being inspected since his wheels were squeaky. Thomas who found him first before sending the construction team and rescuers came to see him with Percy and some of his friends every 4 days to 2 weeks
for my memory from the year it came out the yearbook that I had was from the same year had plans to explain expanded with other parts and how to expanded it makes you think doesn't it that they even knew it was short but they wanted you to expand more into it
This is a set I always really wanted but never got; Edward the Great is one of my favorite Hit-era episodes and I love all the exclusive pieces. The exclusive pieces are honestly what makes the set; It would be way lamer if it just came with the standard Edward and Spencer.
No, this set comes with the surprised-face Spencer. I was only showing the normal Spencer so that you could see that there is indeed a difference from the normal version. Sorry if that was confusing at all.

I have a lot of favorites, but the ones that come to mind are "Thomas Comes to Breakfast" or anything involving Duck and Diesel. I grew up on those episodes and they bring back a lot of fond memories. :)
I see. Thomas Wooden Railway, I've just remembered, I've seen you use Muffle Mountain as a normal hill or Gordon's hill, that's a Wooden Thomas and the Magic Railway set which comes with Thomas, Lady and Diesel 10, I thought you said you didn't have any Thomas and the Magic Railway sets, or can't you remember which sets of track was used for it?
I can remember getting that set back in christmas 2006.
I still have the Rolling stock pieces and the Over the track signals.
I like the use the Furniture wagon as a tarped truck for goods trains.

It was my first set and I had a blast. Sadly I lost the Furniture Car but I still have all the rest somewhere
The coach is something I want a lot, I’d use 3 of them as Express coaches because of cool they look
1:15 you can also use that coach as a dining coach for the expres
Me: makes wooden railway set
Mom about to clean it all up: doomsday
I know that feel. I use to have a Trackmaster Misty Island Rescue set that was set up in my playroom but one day unknown to me a few cleaners came to the house and when I came home from school ready to play with it the track was all gone.
I really love this set you have. I wish I could have gotten this set for my Birthday or the Holidays from the past.
You're becoming one of my favourite RUclipsrs lately, so much content, looking forward to the new collection video, the new layout, and Season 13
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the uploads! :)

I really like this set. Having so many exclusive items in it makes me like it all the more
Love that Edward The Great Review - way to go!
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!
I've always wanted this set.
I think the set could use some major upgrades.
Engines: Edward, tired Edward, Spencer, shocked Spencer, Gordon, sulking Gordon, Percy, and angry Percy.

I love this set. I saw one New in Box selling for $120 on Craigslist. Is the price seem reasonable?
It all depends on how much you really the set. If I remember correctly, I bought my version when it was still in stores and I think the price was around $80, so there's definitely been a mark-up on yours. But if you really want the set, then I say go for it! :)
You missed the word want near the start
You should make a skit called where's my coach. Where the Duke and Dutchess's coach goes missing and they go all over the island to find it.
One of my favorite episodes, and an amazing set! Great review!
Thank you very much!
Not to mention, there was also Rheneas & The Roller Coaster set based on the series 7 episode and Limited Edition Better View For Gordon. Those sets have unique accessories.
ah memories nice to see you traveling through memory lane
This has been a blast from the past for sure! ;)

Small in size, but still looks a great addition to have for a Thomas Wooden Railway collector. I wish I had gotten this set when it was available. Nice little review.

I loved this set but I never got for wooden railway but I still like. I remember looking at it in the old Thomas wooden book when I was little

Another great review. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I have that wooden railway bridge.
I wish the track was set up better so having a rave would be easier
I agree! It would be awesome to have enough track to reenact the whole episode!

its Tanner, nice review, how many sodor story collection sets will their be? I would like to hear your opinion
Hi Tanner! I'll only be reviewing one Sodor Story Collection Set because they're really expensive. But I think I picked the best one to look at. ;)
People that have this are so lucky.
Yeah
This is a set I always really wanted but never got; Edward the Great is one of my favorite Hit-era episodes and I love all the exclusive pieces. The exclusive pieces are honestly what makes the set; It would be way lamer if it just came with the standard Edward and Spencer.

I'm a little confused. Does the Spencer train come with two interchangeable faces?
No, this set comes with a special shocked face Spencer! The normal variant has to be purchased separately!
No, this set comes with the surprised-face Spencer. I was only showing the normal Spencer so that you could see that there is indeed a difference from the normal version. Sorry if that was confusing at all.
Cool!
This is the one Episode I like about season 8 (Edward episode) Shame he turn into a jerk in season 10.

Soon! Once I'm done with the reviews I have planned right now, I'll start working on new episodes. :)
Do rheneas & the roller coaster set now please
I have a wooden Spencer but it’s the where he’s sad or mad
I would of made the pieces more like from the story by including a station and the actual summerhouse
How much is this set?
When this set was originally sold, I believe it was around $80 or so.
Ok, thanks
SoccerS
It cost 15 potatos

I'll be making new episodes in just a bit! Thanks for hanging tight!
Wait a sec but the Duke e duchess Summer house was built in hiro off the rails how It was even there in the model series
When did the set come out ?
2004-2005 I think
hi good video
Thanks!
I think they made it small because why make a huge set when they know kids will just make there own layout with the track
+ThomasWoodenRailway What's Your Favortie Thomas And Friends Episode From Seasons 1-7?
I have a lot of favorites, but the ones that come to mind are "Thomas Comes to Breakfast" or anything involving Duck and Diesel. I grew up on those episodes and they bring back a lot of fond memories. :)
How many more sets do you need to review?
Just a few more!
I've got that set
My name is Edward😀😀😀😀😀😀
WENN ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE A NEW EPISODE!!!!!
I'll be uploading new episodes soon! Thanks for being patient!
+ChooChooChannel I agree
It was a great episode, but a mediocre set. Great review!
I couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching!
No offense but I hate how you called Edward "weak". He is not weak at all.
Context is important. In the episode (and most of the HiT era), he is portrayed as "weak".
Ha ha specner LOST
