      It's crazy he is 62. I think this record will be broken at the Baddest Bencher comp in May. If you like RAW benching as well, Danial Zamani is going for 800 lbs, world record, in 2 weeks.

      @@rhylemavericktan5826 not really since his raw bench is about 500-550lbs. Bench shirts nowadays are insane and do literally over 50% of the work for you. It's more so how to learn to wear the shirt right then lift the weight at this point.

      The power of a lifting shirt, if there was less weight on the bar, say 900lbs, the tension in the shirt wouldn't even let him lower the bar to his chest

    What does this translate to in raw benching ?
    I never understand these records. What’s the point of them. If you wanna see how much you can lift with something aiding you why not put a hydraulic jack under each tricep that pushes your arms up as your spotter hits a button. Dumb

      I agree. He is 350 isch lbs over the raw bench, set by a juiced up giant with good genetics.
      So he effectively has the most rigid clothing (doing 400+ lbs of the lift).
      Bench should be done with a bare chest.

    I do not want to disrespect Bill, but it seems like the side spotters had their hands on the weight the entire time and appeared to be lifting up on the weight. I have seen vids of him doing over 900 without spotters touching so he is capable. i also question the "equipment " Still I highly respect this MAN .

    Even with a bench shirt that is incredible. Oddly enough it may have been disallowed because he paused in the middle. Old man strength is real. Not me, but my grandfather was a farmer and his humble feats of strength even in his mid 70's astounded others.

    Muscle maturity is old man strength. I am Simalar as I age I get stronger. 455 bench press was my max in my 30s and 40s. Now I'm 51 and the 500 club will be soon. My goal is not 500 , that's just the beginning of my last go at this. There is NO weakness in being strong.

      But give it away for a while due to injury and all the strength is gone and also the muscle starts wasting away. That's why when trying to make a comeback I'm like a skinny little teenager again but I believe having a good routine and sticking with it will bring gains. What routine do u follow?

    You always have to look at fulcrum or distance. Take a guy with long arms vs short. It’s all how much bend in your elbow, size of your chest, (your chest is the mark) how far apart is your grip. If you took a tape measure, this guys moved maybe 6-8 inches. I have long arms, I’m closer to a foot.

    Amazing Lift !! If you have not powerlift before you do not know the skill it takes to do this. Your arms would break trying to do this !! The most i had in my hands was 600lbs raw 20yrs ago and I thought my wrists were going to break !! That was on a 4 board !! Much Respect !!

    Age is just a number. That's what I get told when young people find out my age. I tell people it took me a long time to get this strong. Stop on never do steroids and when your 62 or over you can do something incredible.

      I mean, this guy is definitely on steroids, but so is everyone at that level, so that isn't taking anything away from him. I get what you mean. What this tells me is that if an old dude on extreme amounts of steroids can beat out young dudes also on extreme amounts of steroids, then we can compare this with natural people too, an older natural can be just as strong as a younger natural in the context of only comparing naturals.

    The funny thing is all these people bashing equipped lifts are gonna go to the gym and put on the thickest fuckin belt they got and deadlift 200lbs more than what they could without the belt.     How does a bench suit help with lifting ?

      An 1100lb weight will weigh about 600-700lbs at the bottom. The shirt does the rest.

      @@joebot9309 The shirt dosent do the rest, there is still 1129 pounds of force being exerted over the same areas as a traditional bench, He is still being pinned into the bench seat by 1129 pounds. His joints are still supporting 1129, the suit has 0 effects against the compression on his body.

    short arms equals mechanical advantage with the bench press. look at all the best bench pressers and you see what i mean. short and stalky guys have the advantage when it comes to benching. still impressive af though, and even crazier to think that this guy is literally stronger than a neanderthal, who is supposed to be "much stronger than modern humans". i bet this guy has an extremely robust skeleton. with strong muscles comes a thick skeleton.

    2)Without the equipment his true bench falls 60%+
    That's like me posting a video of me benching 675 when my actual true bench is 405.

    While its good that he was able to reach a record, he should really focus on his diet. 62 years of age and a clear high body fat percentage is present, along with muscle. Not good, not good at all.
