Poison arrows are your friend. They do percent damage so on bosses they work wonders! Switch from poison crossbow / bow to gun and switch back to poison after the poison wears off.
I had the idea for an ethical Pal run, ie eggs and purchase only, no killing (Pals) and only workers not combat party members. But this, this was a whole new level of suffering.

This challenge was one of the first things I thought of when I started playing this game. Definitely knew it'd probably be difficult especially as I fought harder bosses. Glad to see someone trying it lol
Crazy idea and series damn, also so glad someone finally mentioned how good the music is, it really is that good and the small price extra for music is so worth it
Old trick was: hold the item by cursor leaving it floating in the air as you close the menu by keyboard and be light as a feather. Go to a different location using keyboard while still holding the item using the mouse mid air. 😄
They actually patched the over encumbered mechanic. You now can always walk regardless if your weight. Just at a snails pace. Still better then nothing
One thing you could try is to get legendary weapon schematics. While they’re hard to get (both from the alpha pals that drop them and gold chests) they are massively more powerful than their regular counterparts. Just off of memory Kingpaca drops the legendary old bow with an attack stat north of 225 Beakon drops the legendary handgun Bushi drops the legendary crossbow Suzaku drops the legendary shotgun Jetragon drops the legendary rocket launcher though thats more than likely out of reach Additionally run through dungeons to get attack pendants. From what I gather attack is a percentage based deal where at base 100 you deal 100% of your weapons damage divided by enemy defense. Its probably not going to be feasible to beat the game without pals. Marcus and Falerus, Victor and shadow beak especially have alot of bs because they fly. But I have a feeling atleast the free pal alliance tower is doable and possibly very possibly the pyre tower. Its gonna take alot of farming regardless though, good luck if you do try to continue this run.

Also I beat every legendary with what I call is a fortnite box strat because the ai is dumb it can get stuck on a build if you get it’s attention and cut off line of sight then I proceeded to burn through hundreds of poison arrows and caught frostallion early with around 77 dps from the dot effect of poison
I think every legendary is possible I’m not sure about bosses in caves but you can farm the legendary rock t launcher blueprint from jet dragon with this method
BTW whether you have the grapple or not... dropping a stack of items, getting a running start and grabbing the stack while jumping will take you much farther. Especially if you have quite a distance to go. If you do have a grappler you can: grapple, do the above, and by the time you've landed your grapple cooldown will be ready. Depending on which grappler you have you can do the running jump 1-3 times in between the grapple cooldown. I play on PC though edit: I play on mouse and keyboard
Yeah, it's very difficult to do the no pal ever runs. Key materials being dropped by powerful pals or bosses. That fishing village is a good point. The next gun is a musket in the desert town. Your basically doing dark souls type boss fights later on and the alphas tend not to have the cover.
9:00 if you go in a chest and hold an item over the middle and press I think tab you will still hold the item and move with out the waight effecting you

There's a glitch on keyboard and mouse that allows you to move infinite items from chests without being encumbered. Click and hold the item with left click, then press tab, then move to where you need to. You can place it in another container or place it in your inventory, in which only then will you be encumbered. Yeah, I know, this is a glitch, but no one will really blame you if you don't want to move a gajillion more wood legitimately.
The first tower can be EASILYA BEAT at lvl 30 with a pistol and no pals. Or be lvl 50 jack up your attack stat and use a 3 shot bow with a giga shield.
Here's a good loophole. You can kill the level 40 black marketeer pretty easily in a variety of ways. One such way is to spam attack and talk buttons to hit him then stop him from attacking you. Another is to attack him then run like hell until he goes back to where he was, but now he won't use guns only fists. Another way without technically glitching is attack him, run like hell, run down to where he was after tricking his AI and then placing fires where he was. Then when he spawns in he'll slowly burn to death. The Black Marketeer has a gatling gun and is level 40. His level will scale down to your's HOWEVER there's a little thing most people don't know. When you build a base and put someone down in it, they don't scale down to your level as they would in your party. This means you could go near say a legendary such as ice stallion, lure it to your base, then have as many Black Marketeer's with gatling guns as your base permits. Then watch your army of level 40s with gatling guns and a ton of health take down a legendary and collect the XP. Rinse and repeat until level 50. Then go challenge the towers with all level 50 Black Marketeers.

I had a few thoughts while you were moving the wood. Firstly, I'm so glad they changed that mechanic. Secondly, why not fast travel to cut a third of that run out?
unless you change settings to like use vary little to no stamina and pump all points into stam (even then it maybe close). there is 2 towers you will not be able to even get to, without flyer pal, as they are at the vary top of mountains with no foot path up to them.
If you hold you mouse down on n the wood then click tab you could have walked unencumbered to the merchant then the clicked tab and dropped the wood in your inventory saving you a lot of time
This was a good watch, man. I recommend not including dead space like that sped up part where you move the logs because that kind of thing kills retention, but I get that you want to include the proof of you doing it. Speeding through it once during your explanation and stating that you did it 3 times would've done the trick in my opinion. This video made me want to see what else you've uploaded, and I was genuinely shocked to see some nerdcore music. You're probably familiar with their work already, but I'm a big fan of Divide Music and Fabvl. Anyway, I wish you luck with your endeavors. This video has the vibe of a lot of the content that I enjoy; I'm sure a bit more polish is all it will take for you to grow faster than you can believe.

with keyboard and mouse u can open a chest with a pack of wood, take with the mouse and continue holding withou put in your inventory you get out of the chess and you can walk around holding the pack of wood with your mouse you cant move your camera but you can go anywhere, than you just need to open a chest somewhere else (still holding) and drop the pack of wood there
grab the loot from your inventory.. then hold it with your mouse.. then close the inventory window.. and keep holding the item with your mouse.. while running with an empty inventory.. the mouse can hold 99999 while you run lol
Nice job making the experience far too hard for yourself! To continue this experience you could try getting the undershirts for exploring hot areas then just run around the desert for chests. Remember to slide!

i got damage all the way up and put every point in attack. trying to manage weight and the lack of health to me is just as fun. i got 2 charachters level 50. 1 all gas no brakes and the other more balanced layout and cant decide whats more fun so have at ya.
The problem with thie run ultimately isnt the dmg output or resources you can get look at dark souls players taking on bosses way before their prepared your true enemy is that boss time limit which will make it impossible to do enough dmg in the set amount of time.
lol there was a few people talking about how a vegan run would be like if peta would try to make rules for it this is basically the peta run minus the killing of pals well I haven’t watched the vid yet or properly I should say so you could say you where setting free a pal enslaved from its master but ye it looks cool
I say use humans only to assist you. At the very least they can be distractions 😂 if you 4 star them and max their levels then they would make for adequare meat shields Im sure

There are 'no pal' runs, only difference is Humans don't do anything, they do attack but not very effective AI.

I actually tried this over the weekend. It was fun for a while but eventually got boring as you started to just breed everything you need.

There's a faster way to move larger amounts of items: Drop the item, press dodge then press pick up before you roll.
