So, for the 5 years I’ve had this there hasn’t been one issue at all. On 9/18/22 the refrigerator stopped getting cold.
I went on LG’s website and created a account and registered my refrigerator and started a online chat with customer service.
LG refrigerators have a 10 year warranty on certain parts and it was deemed the compressor probably went out. That the part would be covered, but not the labor.
They gave me a ticket number and a list of local shops that could do the repair work. I made an appointment for them to come out 2 days later.
The compressor needs a professional to install it. It’s not a DIY project. The tech looked at my fridge and indeed it was the compressor. The part would have been 1200.00usd. But, fortunately it was free.
In total I paid 793.00usd in labor. That included the installation and recharging the compressor with R134A refrigerant (chemical that makes things get cold).
So, my fridge is working again perfectly. I guess it’s good to know LG has a 10yr warranty on certain parts. I think it’s mainly the important parts in the fridge.
All in all, I’m happy. If I had to do it all over again I’d still buy an LG.

My current refrigerator is Whirlpool Gold French door that I purchased in Feb 2008 and still working right now.. (only ice maker was broken and replaced 5 years ago) and the frig still works and works now!! That compressor that Whirlpool made into Whirlpool Frig that I have like run-forever compressor or what!! But what I know is mine continue working at this point.
I already purchased LG 30 cu.ft Instaview with craft ice ..etc so your story made me tempted to cancel my order (scheduled delivery and still possible to cancel!)

I have this exact LG Frig. only I bought the counter depth version. One neat feature these LG Smart Refrigerators have you did NOT cover or even mention is the Smart Grid (Wi-Fi) feature. This is really cool as it tracks the ~kWh consumption (AKA: energy consumption), per hour on a day by day basis for an entire month. VERY NICE! Also, it allows owners to participate in your local utilities' Demand Response programs, TO SAVE MORE MONEY. Lastly, it also, tracks the number of times users open the Frig. & Freezer doors. When you have kids it's nice to know what they are doing.

We have the 2018 model. I love everything about it accept for one thing. In the dark you have the light turn on to see how much ice you're getting but there isn't any light for the water. I wonder if they can add a light to next years model.
Trying to find those handle protectors. Only ones I can find are velvety. Yours appear better than that and can't find them anywhere. For those of you that think they have found this fridge for $1500 etc. you are looking at fridge like this but probably a different cubic foot. We just got this 30 cu foot on sale (plus we get a 10% military discount It was onsale for $3299 down fro $4100. Love it so far and for those that hate LG... i can only say we have had 2 lousy Sears models over the years and most recently Samsung that we had 9 repair visits in 7 months. Unfortunately I think there is NO good appliance mfrs anymore. Maytag...problems...Samsung horrible ice maker problems etc. Don't make fridges like the used to...to last more than a few years. In any case still want those handle protectors !!!!! Thanks and thanks for your walk through!! One thing you forgot to mention is the water filter. On our Samsung we had to turn off the water to change it and if you didn't water would come spewing out everywhere. This one is hidden, you lift of the bottom little shelf underneath the ice maker and there it is and i don't have to turn the water of YIPPEE

I just got the new version of this fridge in counter depth two weeks ago. (Thanks for the info on it locoboof!) So far I love it! The ice maker is a little louder than my old fridge but hey it's in the door so what should I expect. The thing runs quiet as a mouse so that's a welcome trade-off to me. After I bought it my friend told me that while the linear compressors are quiet there are lots of problems with them. SO, I called Home Depot back and got the 5-year warranty (you can do that within 30-days at Home Depot) which starts after the 1-year factory warranty. Now I'm covered for 6-years. I'll come back here and post if I have any issues. Seems like a good place to collaborate! LOL! =)

I got the fridge that's equivalent to this but without the see through glass.. 18 months in the the fridge is completely dead, write off. Apparently, from what 2 different service men told me is that LG is using extremely thin copper piping inside the fridge which leaks and punctures very easily and this is what happened with mine. The problem happened in the walls of the fridge of course where they can't access hence making it a write off.
Good for thought, don't buy extended warranties because LG will refuse to honour their 5 year on the seal section of the fridge because they tell you to deal with your extended warranty. In my case, this screwed me because LG would have replaced it or full credit for what I paid ($4500), my extended warranty through Leons is only crediting me 75% of the value of the fridge so we are losing close to a grand as we also lose the warranty that we paid for since it's a write off. I've had a Frigidaire for 9 years with no issue. LG says life's good? Not for me not at this time. They need to honour their warranty REGARDLESS of extended warranties because I got the warranty to cover things their warranty doesn't. Basically, I paid to screw myself and LG doesn't help. Not a happy camper here by any means.

Just got ours delivered today, lol haven't even made ice yet. I think ours is a newer model the drawers are different and water/ice dispenser is not the same. Me and wifey have been looking for weeks and finally settled on this one. I wish I had seen this video weeks ago...would have saved me some time 😆

I really want this fridge because of the space it offers compared to others. I currently have an LG but ice maker recently quit and now my freezer isn't working. I loved the ice maker in door because it doesn't take up storage space for food! I've had mine about8-9 years. I've had issues for a couple years with the ice maker before it finally quit altogether. I've read many horrible reviews though about mechanical problems and even worse customer service/repair reviews, so I'm now a little frightened to buy one! I see you posted 3 months ago so I'd like to know how yours is doing so far? I will ask video poster how his is now that it's been 3 years for him. :)
Awesome video .. I had to watch because I coudn't figure out where one of the shelves drawers would go in the frizer .. Minute 6:53 in the vid I realized where the shelve needs to go .. The compresor and condenser went bad on my 2018 LG. LG repair man came over and took a little over two hours to get it working again. Luckly it was cover by the 5 years waranty, but for some reason I still had to pay $183 which I'll try to dispute with customer service.

hey hey! I am getting the same 30 cu.ft LG 4 door instaview refrigerator for $3700 (bonus a free LG 20.6 cu.ft standup freezer, program ending 11/30/2022). I was worrying about the dept sticking out too much but after review your video a few times, I think it should be ok in my kitchen!
Our new LG refrigerator failed so we finally found out that these units are junk after no repair person would work on them, so we were told there was this class action lawsuit and we needed to contact LG. LG customer service was a joke as they used a specific deterrence tactic to prevent LG from having to replace there poorly make refrigerators. They say their policy is that they will replace the unit after 3 documented work orders to fix it, so when you contact them after the third repair fails they just say they have not documentation of a third work order and continuously have to keep submitting work orders to have a repair person do the same repair that does not work! In the mean time, initially my family and I got very sick due to the high temps the refrigerator and now were have no refrigerator through the holidays!!!! This process has now exceeded two months and is not resolved! We will look into a lawsuit in our area as well.

Nice Video. I love the door handle covers!! I use saran wrap cuz the kids get the handles all dirty. But I'll have to find some of those covers. I still had the tape on some appliances too. I'm like you--Cleanliness.

Unfortunately they don’t carry the same exact one I purchased anymore. You can go on amazon and type “refrigerator door handle covers” and see if you like any of those.

Also, are you sure about your comment concerning the chill drawer, it doesn't look like it would convert to freezer temps as you stated, or did I misunderstand you?

So the middle drawer could be programmed as extra freezer space? If so you could make extra ice ahead of time and store it there before a party.

Hello! I have the same refrigerator and it is very deep, it protrudes 25 cm from the kitchen module. I see that in your case also excels several centimeters. The people who designed my kitchen say that the module has a standard depth, that the problem is my refrigerator. Did the same thing happen to you when you bought yours? Do you know if this same refrigerator comes in reduced depth? Thank you!
+Melissa Matos Mine is very deep,yes. They do make a “counterdepth” model that won’t stick out as far. But you will loose storage space. So, this fridge is 29.7. A counterdepth would be around 23.8 or something like that. So you’d loose storage capacity, but it would be smaller and not stick out as much
Nine months later, how do you like it? We have had ours for almost a month and can't find one thing wrong with it other than it is HUGE! But we knew that going in.
So far for my feeling on it all, it is certainly a "buy once, cry once" item. We went from a pair of traditional freezer on top units as the first of the ones we had was just not enough space. Then two units was just a pain. This is certainly the best choice if you can fit it into your budget and your kitchen.

The air thing in the back is a air filter. Instead of having baking soda, or some other odor eater, you can have that. I'm not sure when you should replace it. I do believe it's every 6 months.
I believe the fridge warns you when it’s time to replace it. Buy it from amazon, it’s like 70% cheaper. I still put a baking soda box inside as well. :)

The stainless on the ice and water will easily scratch, looks nice when new but will not stay that way , I'd advise putting some form of protection on it if at all possible..

These lg fridges equiped with linear inverter compresor usually last less than 2 years before the compresor go bad. How is yours holding up? I like the look of lg fridge but theres a lot of bad comments about its compresor and i dont know if its true.😟😟
I have mine and I have had no issues at all. It’s still going strong with no problems at all.
I’d say if you’re going to buy one and you’re worried, just get an extended warranty.

Anyway, I will wait a bit to see if I can order them later. We did ended up buying this refrigerator yesterday, except ours had to be a counter depth. Nice review/show of features! Due to the many bad reviews I've read on other sites, I'm scared to buy this fridge, although I'm pretty sure the new one I'm looking at is a little bit different. I have had my current LG for 8-9 years and ice maker has finally completely gone out and my freezer shortly followed. So I am needing to replace ASAP and the one I like the most is the new LG (though I don't really want the "smart" features). Now, 3 years later for you, how is yours holding up?
I’ll be honest, I haven’t had one issue. I hear and have seen people comment saying they’ve had issues. I can only speak for myself and tell you it’s been flawless. I’m extremely happy and have no plans to replace it. I’m also hearing they now offer a 10yr warranty on the ice maker. But, don’t quote me. If you have any concerns, maybe get a store warranty to give your mind some peace.

No complaints! Everything is great. When you go to replace the air filter (inside the fridge) look on amazon. A lot cheaper!

I like the fridge until it’s fans keep freezing and making noise and now I get error codes . Sucks that inhave defrost it every few weeks , not worth the hassle

Keep us updated please, i'm looking into getting one myself, but never realised there was an issue until i read the comments here and then started researching on the internet. I couldn't find anything recent this year (2020) in regards to issues or comments made on various sites/ threads. Seems the compressor was a huge problem, but LG do offer a 5 year on the compressor and 10 year on the inverter compressor. Parts are included but there is a charge on the labour. I'm looking at the LG InstaView™ Door-in-Door™ GSX960NSVZ - the cheapest i found was £1749.

The light you knock on the glass? No. But the one on the door where you get ice or water, yes.
I have a door to door no display , and frost is building up inside behind bottom sliding drawer when you open French doors. Payed also $4,000 any ideas?

Keep refr temp at 38° F. and frezzer temp at 8° F. above, that may help.
