you have some Lenny Breau chords going on bro!
    I like Yamaha acoustics.....
Been playing one now for 20 years and it's aged great!

Thanks for the demo! I wanted to hear whether the A3M with its solid mahogany B&S would be richly resonant like the A3R is, and your video did a good job of demonstrating that aspect in the affirmative. Loved the climactic percussion work by your dog at 24:20 :)

AA batteries are more common in Asia. I own the Yamaha A3M as well as the AC3R. Both are wonderful! Oh, i love opening new guitars too.

Cool, AA batteries are also more common in the US, so it's easy to replace the batteries. This is just the first time I've seen them used in a guitar. That's nice that you have two. I originally wanted to get the A3R.

Great, man! I´ve just picked this guitar but it does not arrived yet. Tell me, this guitar comes with a nice low action on strings?

great video , how do you compare it now with other brands , how about play ability , about neck and fret board ,is it smooth ? i myself liked this guitar sound , i think it is warmer then A3R , , what do you think ? i think now you can compare it with A3R after while you played A3M , thanks for video

Thanks, I tried out some Martins and Taylors that were in the same price range and they didn't seem to be as good. The A3M is easy to play and the neck/fretboard are smooth. Yes it has a warm sound, and I haven't had a chance to try the A3R. I really like the sound of the pickup system. It has some mic emulations that sound way better than just the piezo sound. I originally wanted to get an A3R and I was planning on getting one. When it came time to order it I didn't have enough money, so I decided to get the A3M because it was within my budget.

Thanks for the video! I recently bought second hand A3M A.R.E in a pretty much mint condition. However it seems the guitar might be defected. It has bad string/fret buzz issue, which makes the guitar pretty much unplayeable when plugged in. Unplugged the buzzy sound isn't that noticable. The saddle and bridge are stock and adjusting the thrust rod doesn't help (not even if intentionally adding too much relief), which is why I think the guitar might be faulty.
When examining the fretboard closely, I noticed that the last 5 frets feel pretty sharp and are almost squary in shape, so now I'm wondering is that intentional or did they just forgot to file and polish the last frets at the factory. Have you had any buzz issues with the guitar and how's your frets?

I haven't had any fret buzz issues and I haven't tried adjusting the truss rod myself. I did have very sharp fret ends. It was so bad that after playing it at rehearsals I would have a lot of very small cuts, not bleeding just top layer of skin, on my left hand index finger. I had a guitar shop smooth out the fret ends and they adjusted the truss rod when they set it up. I would try a little heavier strings and see if the buzz goes away. Carefully examine and test the truss rod thoroughly. If all else fails take it to a good guitar shop and get their opinion or a setup.

@@jeradfox Thanks for the quick reply! Fret ends on my guitar are fine but edges of the last (15th - 20th) frets feel sharp and not filed properly. Too bad my local music stores don't sell the model so I can't go there and check if the frets feel weird only on my guitar or all of the A3M models. I guess I'll just to have to take it to a local luthier for an opinion like you said.

Nice video…but I kinda wish reviewers would do more of a longevity review on items than unboxing vids or unboxing demos. At least a 3 week minimum of ownership before reviewing. What they like and don’t like about or any nuances. Just food for thought as there are only “unboxing” vids for this guitar.

So now that you've had it for a while, what do you think?

    • @jeradfox
      @jeradfox  6 лет назад +2

I really like it. It has a good tone and the neck is very easy to play. This is my first new acoustic guitar. Before this I have only owned cheap used acoustic guitars, less than $100. This is a big step up from those. I am planning to make another video on once I've had a chance to play it more. Thanks

My instagram account is: jfoxguitarteach . I have posted a couple of the photos from that day. There is another instagram account where the photos from the class will show up. It is: artscouncilsc . I have a photo of you with a guitar that I could post with your permission. I am thinking about making a compilation of the videos of the students playing guitars for youtube.

It sounds great. I'm deciding between this, and a Takamine GD93CE. Both dreadnoughts. I just wish Yamaha would dress up their headstocks more. The word "Yamaha" up there just looks plain and boring.

First 14 minutes waste of time. Why do we want to watch you open a box and take everything out. Just start the video once the guitar is out of the box and ready to go.

The word “unboxing” is in the title, are you aware of what unboxing videos consist of? Perhaps you’re looking for “review” videos.
