I grew up poor. My parents did their grocery shopping at Aldi and their retail shopping at Value City. Value City was always a series back in the toylines. A series would generally stay on the shelves at front line retailers for about 6-8 months; then they would bring in the next series at Walmart, Target etc and the previous series would start showing up at Value City at a discounted price. It sucked having to wait (and when you're 7 years old 6-8 months feels like an eternity) but for most part I was okay with it. One advantage that I had was that I was able to see them all in action first and know which ones were worth getting and which ones were worth skipping. That all changed with MASK series 3. They were all so awesome, I wanted them all, knew I'd never have them all, and had a long way to go before I even could get my hands on a single one of them and it was torture. But I ultimately ended up with Goliath, Buzzard, Razorback and Iguana out of that series, and I was happy with that. MASK series 3 is so awesome!
After watching all three of these videos I realized how awesome my mom is! I had 80% of this whole series 1,2&3 and didn’t even realize it as kid, no internet and RUclips yet!
I used to have the Pitstop Catapult. It was one of the last MASK sets I bought. A lot of MASK sets were hard to get hold of in the area where I grew up in the UK. Mostly stores like Woolworths and Argos stocked a few along with Star Wars, Transformers and Action Force/GI Joe. The red banner section should come forward as The small flag things are supposed to be teeth/blades used to trap a vehicle. The tyres will stack together and connect together using the small tabs around the inner rims. Use the same small tabs to locate the tyres into their storage position on the base. On the fuel pump/catapult section. You place a tyre upright into the gap. Then use your finger on the back of the sprung section to push down and release to launch 🙂
Me too, I have the pitstop catapult too, it's 1 of cheapest, my mom didn't reluctant to buy it for me, usually she doesn't buy toys, only dad does. I have the Goliath & Razorback too
Also from the UK, I had the Bullet Bandit bike/Ali Bombay, Manta/Vanessa Warfield and also the Boris Bushkin figure but not the vehicle, not sure why! Haha I'd lost them apart from the Ali Bombay figure and the Boris Bushkin mask, but I managed to pick up a replacement Bullet Bandit bike, his mask, a Boris Bushkin figure, and I just now found a complete Manta vehicle and Vanessa Warfield figure on Ebay, kind of expensive nowadays. They were great toys, some of my favourites, along with G.I Joe Action Force figures. The 80s were a great time to be a kid.
My favorite has always been Manta. Last year I got a brand new Manta from the Chile lot. It is crazy to see the box and the toy all these years later, no faded colors, all brand new like when I was 8 or 9.
I’m 40 in a couple days and I had Iguana, Wildcat, and Ali growing up. I lost them as one does when you stupidly don’t realize one day you want to collect them again. I got my hands on Vampire with Floyd Malloy with original packing and awesome condition used. Anyway thought I’d share my love for this channel and fellow MASK lovers. Well done sir
This whole series could be redone with today's technology, it would be awesome, I loved it as a kid, I was 11, when it hit, love watching your videos...
They could be remade with updated materials and technology. But the cost would just be disgustingly high. Just look at the cost of a single action figure, especially figures geared towards the collectors' market. The lowest price point vehicles could easily cost $20-30, with something like Goliath, Razorback, or Whiplash being $150-200.
Funny you mention how the Buzzard looks like "just a nice race car...." My mother bought one for me at a yard sale in the early '90's, and I had NO idea it was a MASK vehicle for like 6 months until I had a rambunctious morning and started really testing my toys' durability....discovered the button that separates the cars from the glider portion, and was in MASK heaven! It was like getting 3 new toys of Christmas morning. Such a cool series of toys!
You can also slide a figure into the back of Razorback to man the rear guns. I think the manual for Buzzard says that the rear spoiler can be used as a hang glider by sticking the figures arms through the loops. Probably why they are missing. I lost so many pieces to these toys as a kid but continued to play with them for years.
So cool. I had Goliath and was impressed with how sturdy the racecar was built. I also had Manta and lost the ejection seat almost immediately. I also had the Bulldog(?) Cab over. I never got the rest of them (series3) as they were hard to find in my area. I'll never forget the childhood heartbreak I had when my older brother received the Rhino truck for his birthday one year. I still don't know where my parents found it, as you could never find Rhino in the stores anywhere. Still bothers me to this day! 😂
The mirrors on Wildcat are know as West Coast Mirrors and they were option on certain pick ups. Those orange things on the back of the truck are the controls to operate the winch and hoist on on the back of the tow truck (in real life).
Watching this takes me back. I wish I would of kept all my mask toys..... Smh. They got passed down to my younger cousin so at least that was good thing. Great video
Those orange things on the back of the tow truck are levers for operating the towing mechanism. Up, down, forward, back, tilt and whatever else. A set with redundant functions on each side so the operator can hitch it up from either side. Surprisingly the mask toy didn't chrome them.
When I was little,i want this toys so bad but my parents don't want to buy it for me...48 years later, still i can't have it coz it's not available in the stores, you are so lucky
(Watch the cartoons Dusty mask while looking the same (except for being good) is a different mask. Vacuum pulls things towards him. I’m sure it was cheeper to use the old mask recoloured rather than making a new mask. Back to the video
Geeeeez!!! Fu@k Ok. Goliath there is a button on the top to “defence mode” The plain/ car I honestly thought you were going to break it live! Bull dog. Do NOT push the button to reset! that is a “defence mode” only button as it pops the saw out which pushes the can making it fall backwards!!! I had these toys and watching you trying to break them hurts
Had Wildcat and Razorback among others when I was little. Wanted Bulldog since I also had Rhino as well but never got it. Also. You have Vanessa's mask on backwards. The red part is her visor. Your videos are a great trip down memory lane though.
Gosh I love Bulldog's semi form. I never had that one, and would have loved to have had him. His driver's mask is amazing, very "wolflike". I just wish the exhaust stacks would have flipped out instead of sticking out so far. It would make them far studier as well from an engineering standpoint in the toy's build. I would love to have a collection of semi's even just semi's and drivers. Am I the only one who think that would be cool even just like that? Maybe with a few opening doors and a gun for the driver. Love the videos, I just discovered your channel, keep up the great work! I do wish they used better plastic that would last over the years, and my biggest gripe is, how many Matt Trackers and others do anyone need? I wish they had made more original characters instead of all the character variations on too many vehicles. Cause if your guys are fighting each other, you realistically would not have 4 different Matts driving all those vehicles at the same time, lol. I like variations, but make those vehicles have their OWN drivers instead. I would paint hair and modify some of mine with model paint back in the day so I could make different people on my own. I was between 8 and 9 when I did that and thought about painting and modifying figures. LOL Thank you for sharing your collection with us and allowing us a trip down memory lane my new friend :D
The back part of Meteor, the part where its splits off, the top part can be lifted off like a flap and acts as a monitor/interface for targeting and shooting the missile. There should be a sticker indicating a monitor... I remember that's how I used to play it...
Got the Meteor at the first day of school... Fun memorys :-D I played it as being the air support for the cars and when it was shot down by Venom, the cockpit became the escape pod... I guess I never ever used the ground vehicle mode for the main section XD
Great video, a trip down memory lane! I used to have Bullit Bandit Bike/Ali Bombay, Manta/Vanessa Warfield and randomly just the Boris Bushkin figure, not sure why? Haha I'd lost almost all of it, but have been on a mission to replace them recently via eBay, just ordered the Manta car and figure earlier, so I have it all back now. Great toys, some of my favourites as a kid for sure.
The spoiler on the Buzzard is removable to function as a hang glider, the figures arm fit through the holes in the bottom of it. The center character was written as a drone or robot. Then the series went nuts with the "Split Seconds" see-through figures.🤣
It is take funny to see these checkpoints toys again 30+ years (I also had the GiJoe checkpoint back then) and then spend many, MANY a working shift at one type of security checkpoint or another for work for many years, only to come full circle back to these toys 🤓
Wildcat n iguana got much play with me. I had always wanted and claimed Manta when I was at my friends house. He even let me borrow it one time!!! (Borrowing toys, oh man!!) Goliath I desperately need and can’t find for a decent price. So cool
I worry we will never see this toy line make a comeback. It would just be too expensive right? They seem so complicated compared to anything made today. I would be all in if they did though!
Well one thing for sure is if they brought it back, they would probably take out the spring loaded mechanisms that make the vehicles transform, leave everything pretty much alone but replace them with a more hands on approach with ball joints, hinges and tabs.
I loved mask as a kid every time the new series came out I would put them all on layaway and pay for them all summer. On wildcat the little orange things are the tow wench grapple controls to lift cars
On goliath you could slide the racecar onto the black peg. There is a slit/groove on the bottom it should slide into. On the miles and maximus racer. In the cartoon the sidepods turned into motorcycle like vehicles. They popped up so they could sit upright. Thats why the tops open On the toy. The molding under the helmet is a droid that controlles the airplane. 👍🏻
The "yellow gun" on Collector is a "radar scanner" with the roof becoming the dish. Pitstop Catapult's tires go into the launcher vertically, fitting between the "arms."
Never really got into the toyline or cartoon when I was a kid. Still, I got the switchblade, jackhammer, piranha and manta last year. That makes my m.a.s.k. collection pretty complete for me 😄
Your Goliath seems to be broken. The racecar DOES auto-transform when you pull it over the ramp with the black piece slotted in underneath the car, but normally it would also transform via a spring when you push down on the intake behind the driver. Seems the spring is missing/broken on your vehicle. Sadly, all of my vehicles have been given away by my parents, wanted to collect them back up only to find that there were none left. Fun fact: In Europe most of the droppable weapons were usually omitted (even Rhino lost its missile later in the production, first units still had it, but Thunderhawk and others rarely had the bombs or got weaker springs for missiles to make them "safer").

It's a shame that there were only 10 episodes of the MASK Racing Series. I enjoyed all of them. There should have been 55 more episodes. CGI would help right now to create more MASK and VENOM vehicles and playsets.

Where can I buy those vintage gems now, my friend? I love the MASK toys & I’d definitely will like to own some of them. I owned a couple of the first wave of the toy line and the ATV that you showed here. 👍🏻
I had all of these as a kid EXCEPT for goliath. I only saw it in a store once or twice with its box open and various pieces on the up and down the shelf on that aisle. I didn't pick it up because I couldn't tell if all parts were there. I actually purchased it as an adult about 8 years ago. I'm surprised you didn't have the green vort-ech go alongside its counterpart, the red wildcat.
I remember the original Ratchet toy from Transformers. The head was horrible. Just a plastic silver square with a sticker for a face. I refused to buy it. I got the dinobots instead could not find Swoop anywhere. I think that was only released in Japan and US.
I had all of these except the toll booth. Gave them away about twenty five years ago. The door/side panel hinges on the T-bird Stocker are really fragile. Even new. 🤦♂️
I have a few Vortek toys bc at the time I thought.. “Huh.. they totally copied MASK”. Then I finally got Bullet off of ebay so now I have both as well.
Lester Sludge, not Sledge. On Buzzard, the Mayhems pop up slightly when car splits, to give them vision to drive as the car is driven by the drone when all together. The helmet with the green diamond belongs to Max Mayhem, the red diamond helmet belongs to Miles Mayhem. You tell them apart by their faces as Max has a monocle. Pitstop, put the tyre length way between the two arms so the petrol pump
@@tydiriumhanger1320 no worries, I grew up watching the cartoon and collecting to toy sets, probably had around 75% of the toys at one time. Think I still have most of them in my parents attic, I’ll have to dig them out! Although there will be many broken or missing parts because I played them a lot 😂
You know, friend, I feel like they haven't done justice to this franchise, they haven't made a new series, nor have they made new games or toys. Also, they didn't make a trailer for 2 trailers.
Just wanted to let you know on your m.a.s.k. series 3 about buzzard race car, the back fin come off and can attach to the shoulders of your figure to be a hang glider
Toy companies are scared to take risks these days and only bet on a SURE THING! We need Mask, Centurions, Bravestarr, Visionaries, and many more to make a comeback but they are not sure things
The motorcycle reminds me of the motorcycle from Hot Wheels Battle Force 5, complete with ghe split wheels. Dont know if it meant to fly oy be a hovercraft
I hated the series 3 ...too many weird vehicles, and some absolute abominations ...the f1 car ? What effin purpose does that serve unless they want to fix and f1 race 😂😂 ...series 3 was the jumping the shark moment

You should patronize the nascar 500 and formula f1 themed signs
Buzzard's fin is advertised as use as a glider for your figures, so if thje kid is into that, taking it off and on will wear the clamps out.
Believe Pit-stop fires the tyres vertically
Pitstop: The tire goes vertically in the slot.
I had all of these except the toll booth. Gave them away about twenty five years ago. The door/side panel hinges on the T-bird Stocker are really fragile. Even new. 🤦♂️
With the car that has max and myles...the spoiler also is used as a glider ...
That formula one car (indy race) is really cool.
You should put the trailer box one that you saw on RUclips what did you do for the other trailer it looks very cool 😎
Oh Spider 2 Far Away But There Coming Mask Were Rabbit Don't Worry Amy Called Us There After US.
I have a few Vortek toys bc at the time I thought.. “Huh.. they totally copied MASK”. Then I finally got Bullet off of ebay so now I have both as well.
Goliath I does auto transform; II seat comes down by itself...mine does
Missing cockpit gun, and rear window guns on razorback.
Great info there and still learning about this wonderful line from Kenner
@@tydiriumhanger1320 no worries, I grew up watching the cartoon and collecting to toy sets, probably had around 75% of the toys at one time. Think I still have most of them in my parents attic, I’ll have to dig them out! Although there will be many broken or missing parts because I played them a lot 😂
cool
You know, friend, I feel like they haven't done justice to this franchise, they haven't made a new series, nor have they made new games or toys. Also, they didn't make a trailer for 2 trailers.
Iguana was cool. I think it was the last M.A.S.K. toy I got as a kid.
Yep he came out around the time Mask was on the decline but still very cool!
Just wanted to let you know on your m.a.s.k. series 3 about buzzard race car, the back fin come off and can attach to the shoulders of your figure to be a hang glider
It all went down hill during/after the racing season
Why can't toy company s make toys now like they did back in the day
Toy companies are scared to take risks these days and only bet on a SURE THING! We need Mask, Centurions, Bravestarr, Visionaries, and many more to make a comeback but they are not sure things
The little orange things on the back of the tow truck you are the faux controls of the tow truck mechanism
Gloria and her vehicle? Are from what season?
They never made a Shark white sports car for Gloria. She came with another vehicle in the 4th and final Racing series
Gloria Baker first appeared in season one, episode 2, alongside her Shark vehicle, which was never made as a toy. She has a small cameo in season 2.
They did give her a Lamborghini Countach called Stiletto which is in Series 4 the split Seconds
I had seen in Facebook that a guy who goes by the name Cliff dagger has a 3 d printer and has made a Shark toy and a custom Gloria figurine too
Change Mechamical Engeneer 2 Mechamical Specialest 2 Mechamical Robot XO95 Codesign Optimus Tron.
The motorcycle reminds me of the motorcycle from Hot Wheels Battle Force 5, complete with ghe split wheels. Dont know if it meant to fly oy be a hovercraft
Meteor.... It's like a wish version of a real MASK toy 😮😮😂😂 wow that was just bad
Don't have the 4 wheeler or the huge cargo jet
4:36 something like that would be outlawed, as it'd be V.E.N.O.M.ous. Similar to a snake oil salesman.
That would be outlawed! LOL V.E.N.O.M.ous
Where's the white ferrari/lamborghini?
Loose part fix rubber o rings
Fragilay? haha
I hated the series 3 ...too many weird vehicles, and some absolute abominations ...the f1 car ? What effin purpose does that serve unless they want to fix and f1 race 😂😂 ...series 3 was the jumping the shark moment
