    As a fan of the Gobots and the Challenge of the Gobots animated series (65 classic Hanna-Barbera Episodes), this was awesome to see such an awesome span of pretty much all of the figures in the line and more, all in one feature-length video. You have an amazing Gobots collection, Mike! Thanks for taking the time to showcase every figure here, explaining the details of each and their robot and alternate vehicle form. Cy-Kill was my first Gobot as a kid, and I still remember the moment I was opening it up in Wendy's back then while eating lunch. What a cool figure, and I went on to collect a good number soon after that. They're a nice line and very affordable back then. The TV show is entertaining, with Leader 1, Scooter and Turbo vs Cy-Kill, Crasher and Coptor as the main leads. Scooter (voiced by Frank Welker) could be brave in a number of episodes thankfully. I bet it took a lot of time and editing to put this all together. Thank you!

    My friend. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!! I started off with GoBots as a kid, had roughly 10 of them and I enjoyed them very much. As I got into Transformers, my father kept calling my TF "GoBots" because he knew it annoyed me lol... I had the hydroplane, the submarine, the alien crab, the big black porch, and the jeep. I played the hell out of them. They got so lose and scratched. I wish I still had them!

    This is a great review of the Go-Bots line. I was more of a GI Joe, TF kid, but I liked Go-Bots, had a good number of them and didn't miss an episode of the cartoon. This video brings back some great memories and learning about Cy-kill's engine on the arm gimmick blew my mind.

    I used to fold and tuck Pincher's arms under his wings, I thought it made it look sleeker when he is in bird/jet mode. Mine, was also Black. He was sold as a Gobot. Alot of the "knock offs" are the original, Japanese, toys. If you check them, they will have Japanese stamped onto a more metal body. Up here in Massachusetts, we had quite a few neighborhood/bodega/corner stores that sold these type of toys under another comany name. Before Tonka secured the rights. Snoop is an SR-71 Blackbird. The Night Raven is based on that. You were right it was an A-10 Warthog. The Rattle was based on. Wrong way became an Apache attack helicopter.

But, I didn't have the money to keep up with them, so after the first 12, I just bought the ones I liked, like the monsters and Leader-1. Nice video, I had a few of these as a kid in the early 80's. The grey Bronco guy was one of my favorites: I thought of him as very muscular / strong, that's why he had chunky pieces, plus I remember he had great range of movement. Also the dark sub guy, very nice sub mode, nice cold metal pieces. Had a couple of the red car guys, very cool. Crasher, the female black race car, was a pretty standard toy but the show had her as a loud and outrageous main character, for no real reason, they just chose a random toy and decided to make it a bitchy main character, kinda funny. Also the tiny orange dump truck haha and the tiny orange forklift. ...Life felt different back then, we had these crazy toys to look at and daydream about. He-Man was my favorite though. :)

      Zayre was an AWESOME store!! It was my favorite for toys and video games! The toy aisles were always well stocked and they had the coolest of the cool toys and even some weird ones. Electronics was great too as they would demo computer games and video games and let you stand there and play. Back then, if you were a kid and you were bored when your parents were shopping, you could go to the toy department and play with some of the non packaged toys and ones that other kids had opened and left laying around. Great times. Great memories!

    That yellow Slicks was made by Imperial. They were first released as a Pepsi promo in North America (actually before Gobots were officially released), and later could be found at some Esso locations. A few of these Imperial bots only came through the Ppepsi promo and not Esso, and are a bit rare as a result. Imperial actually changed the moulds of a few of these, as seen in Slicks.
    Slicks is actually one of my favorites. His engineering exemplifies Gobot design. Really neat design for part of it, and compromising for the rest being really derpy. His chest design is fantastic, has interesting things going on with his feet and legs...but then has stick arms, zero leg articulation, complicated leg panel flaps and engine that ultimately doesnt meaningfully do anything and just hangs as kibble. All of it just to briefly get everything out of the way so the arms can move out of the way of the front wheels during transformation, so his entire leg designs is just to help transform the front wheels.
    The is a certain Irony that the Imperial Slicks has different treaded tires, so he doesnt have the racing slicks he is named for.
    I watched your Super Gobot video before this. Added info for that Psycho is actually based on the car from the anime Cobra.

    Awesome collection you have there Mike. I only had dozer as a kid. I picked up a few gobots really cheap at a small toy fair last year. I'm not actively collecting them but slowly picking up more left and right when I come across them. Luckily it's not an expensive toyline to collect for the most part. I found a really cheap snoop and a green gunnar a few weeks ago and I think I'm up to about 25 to 30 of them now. Not sure if I'll collect all of them. Seeing the prices of some of them, probably not.

    • @junkionix
      @junkionix 9 месяцев назад

      I think part of it is just ignorance and immaturety. Also, times have changed in a lot of ways and there are more people out there who are used to having everything handed to them on a silver platter so, they've come to have an attitude that whatever is the most popular item to have is the only kind WORTH having and that anything else is just trash. Plus, there is a lot of misinformation and disinformation out there too and people who are too lazy to do their research are just believing what is popular to believe. To me it's part of the "In Crowd" mentality. A good example of this kind of attitude is in The Fast and The Furious where Brian and Dom pull up next to the couple in the Ferrari and Brian asks about the retail on it and the guy treats him like dirt because he isn't driving an overpriced, luxurious, ultra fine, elegant super car. Sometimes putting down what someone else likes makes some people feel big and superior.

    What I loved most about GoBots over Transformers (I love both though) is that GoBots are mostly Matchbox/Hot Wheels scale in vehicle form. Transformers should do that. Even their small versions that they release (the Core class figures they do) don't quite hit that mark.

    Blockhead and Flytrap are my Two Favorites of all the Gobots this size. You have both of them, and your Black Slicks changed partially incorrect. Flytrap (truck) the feet swing down to make the opening where garbage is dumped into the back. Blockhead's arms extend as the bot. Slicks as the car, his front axels push in to make the wheel base narrow and the hinge lock into place, making it more stable.

    The toyline came before the cartoon which is why the animation resembles the toy. Cartoons, in general, were used to sell the toys, genius, but storyline was lacking in most, which makes watch those old cartoons not interesting for an adult (just my opinion). Anyway, thanks for the vid, great collection and i think you are correct by having 2 (one in robot form, one in alt form) is a great way to display.

    I've got Tux and I love transforming this toy because it was fun then I lost it during a storm along with my other collections. With regards to the recoloured characters, I think it is due to an episode from the cartoons wherein the Guardians are the antagonists while the Renegades are the heroes which is quite similar with TF Shattered Glass

    Thanks for the awesome walkthrough Mike. If you are ever to make one of these long form videos with a huge number of figures can I request that you type name of each character at the bottom of the screen if it isn't too much trouble? It would add a lot of value to the video as it could then be used for reference.

    • @tydiriumhanger1320
      @tydiriumhanger1320  Год назад

      Great suggestion. These long videos take a lot of time editing but youtube will add in names for each figure segment after about a week or so and that will also help. I think this is my longest video ever and took 2 days to shoot and edit LOL
