Proper Infrastructure is the pathway to a country economic development. Project should be done ontime and under budget.
2scoop,,, The PNP is working overtime to see that it is delayed and bust it's budget,, Peter is now asking the Govt. to compensate all the businesses in the area, while most of the business people say they will endure for development,, just yesterday the Ja workers suddenly strike, I cannot say for sure whether the PNP had an hand in this,, but it look fishy,,if anyone doubt me check out the news coming outta Jamaica.
Audley Mclean, we as jamaicans need to wake up and stop using political affiliation to stifle development. Infrastructure and crime should be a bipartisan undertaking. This is our country we need to step away from politics and focus on making our country better. I have traveled quite a few countries in the world and they don't put politics over the betterment of there country.

Honestly i do not this this is a PNP or JLP issue... this endeavor start with PNP and is being execute and complete by JLP and that is how the country should always run...work should be done to benefit the country, not a party...now the bill to repay this back i hope they know how to do so because Jamaica will be indebted to china for many years to come and that is a bad reality

Am a Jamaican who love jamaica and live in Netherland.How can I build a country and the dollars a run faster than bolt.PNP and JLP don't make one
highway 2000 project began under PNP Govt as well the modernization of Jamaica two major airports did you sing the same praises to the PNP ? I do hope you know none of this building come free...and neither does Jamaica have it own money to pay for these projects.. it is over 100 million US dollars they say these new projects costing where is that money coming from.?

To each is his own but fi watch Dubai build an entire city in a space of 50 years thats worth 300 billion and still rising by one family worth over a trillion dollor in assest alone is amazing because with there is no greed or badmine n not to mention tax free. There are dark side to the city but I like how the laws are so strict that people have no choice but to respect them and everyone. It seems like Jamaica doesn’t have its own civil engineers anymore. Why do our universities even offer these courses of study if we are giving all the civil engineering project to chinese? How will we increase the capacity of the local community?

it was under which administration highway 2000 commence and the modernization of the two major airports ? mi sure know it wasnt the JLP Govt started the construction of highway 2000 because I remember vividly Bruce Golding and the JLP were complaining about the cost. and this redevelopment going on now under JLP Govt is not for free .it already pass 1 hundred million US dollars. and while on the subject of currency.look at the state of our Jamaican currency..I can recall Audly Shaw telling PNP govt to stop the devaluation madness...look at the exchange rate now since JLP in office.where is the solution ? when is the Jamaican currency gonna get rebuild is my question
@@williamb197 The JLP came out of office 1989 so who did you expect to do it. Do you think they did all of this work because of their love for us , no! its their job they have to do it or you are out ,just like what the people of Jamaica did when they send the PNP packing in 2007 and 2016.
that may have started under the pervious JLP or finished under JLP Govt because they were the new Govt in power that highway is another leg of highway 2000 project which were already in the works . if memory serves me correct that was the second phase or suppose to be the 3rd phase of the project
Jerome Shaw .you missing the point ..my response to the person was because of his/her biased intention willing to sing praises to the JLP saying look how much of what they did in two yrs and what did the PNP govt done as for infrastructure my comment was to remind the person what project were under taken under the PNP Govt.....I also know about elections and the way people vote Jerome Shaw. we done seeing JLP sent packing February 6 or 7 1989 and barely won power 18 years after in 2007 and barely won again in 2016 people comes out in their numbers and vote or dont come out much depending on what party slogan they like or what promises they like vs what they dont like. or which party caught up in scandals .
Many of these projects were conceived years ago and have been/are being implemented in phases. There is no need for any one to politicize these developments. Some persons just can't resist the tribalism.
You have to give the present Adm. credit for what is known as continuity, can you imagine if the PNP HAD CONTINUE SOME PROJECTS PLANNED BY THE JLP but truncated by the PNP when they became Govt. there was the St Catherine DAM development which would have the capacity 5 time that of mona dam, also the continuity of water front development, train system,, development of the market area , maintenance of St William Grant Pk down town ect. all discontinued by the PNP FOR WHATEVER REASON, I'm quite aware that these projects where on the drawing board from the PNP Adm. for nothing happen overnight, but thank God for continuity.

Jamaica for many years had monies grants loans to grow we fed up of the donkey cart tradition to continue in 2018 and on I'm a Jamaican that live overseas and Jamaica should of advance longtime but corrupt previous government on both side .... so it does not matter who in government now but we should welcome the modernization of Jamaica and for those who criticised should stop criticise

I am happy for the infrastructure development but I don't see the government making any effort to improve and or build build modern hospitals.It doesn't make sense to spend all this money on roads while our medical facilities are in disrepair .

Its so sad that no one remembers the millions spent by Portia Simpson millier on 3mile before. Now the country once again is spending more money on the same road way less than 15 years later. If my math is correct that's double spending. Yet there are areas in the country without roads. Yet there are road ways in the country begging to be re-surfaced. Yet there are parishes like st thomas that prays rain doesnt fall because of road ways becoming impossible. Yes yes when rain falls 3 mile hagley park road is flooded but not impossible. Check the pros and the cons before you people cheer on development.

Those people need to strive for better for themselves and stop depend for handout. The country needs to develop and it's about time for it. Many programs in Jamaica and the caricom. So they need to read and equip themselves with knowledge and stop cry on government for everything. People in poverty in Jamaica have 3-6kids and middle class and rich average 1-2.
