With Amiya on the thumbnail and the word bases, I honestly thought it was a video about the optimal base setup for farming lol. Anyway, on the topic, the Chinese figure companies are really doing a great job. I am all for it since it will hopefully bring about healthy competition and lead to more reasonable prices overall for figures. I can’t help but feel that many figures these days are heavily inflated in their preorder price tags.
Unfortunately it's a pipe dream. The way manufacturing works is most things are made in China, so Chinese brands based there can get things made cheaper compared to other countries using Chinese factories, needing to factor in customs etc....what this means is the Japanese brands will continue to rise in price due to inflation and shipping. The only way for the Japanese brands to be competitive at this point is to cut corners, and I sure as hell don't want that. I'd prefer to pay an extra bit more knowing I will continue to receive the same high quality from a trusted brand. There are a lot of Chinese brands coming onto the scene that just choose a random popular artist with zero character IP involved (ideally with minimal clothing) so they can make super cheap figures - for example 1/4 scale at 7k yen. I think there's a market for that but at the same time it's giving customers the false illusion that the Japanese brands are over charging....also, those cheap Chinese brands are just trying to make an initial impression - I'm sure their prices will rise too after a couple of years...
Nice! It's a very cute basic figure and I remember when this came out. The base is really cool - decent details but not over the top and busy. I'm actually really liking newer figures that use clear acrylic bases (Mimeyoi Azur Lane for example). Very modern and fits in with interior design much better. Honestly, I'd prefer if all figures came with a plain disc and and they charge less as a whole.
I don’t know anything about Arknights, but I badly want Surtr - Magma Ver 1/7 by Myethos, I absolutely love that figure, I’ll pick it up at some point when I get a month with not a lot of preorders, probably the middle of next year.
Ooo I didn't know Act Toys closed and was under Emontoys XD always watching your videos to learn about the various chinese figurine company news & relationships LOLOL Thx for your weekly videos!
i dont think the anime was crap tho, arknights plot are kinda slowburn, but I can understand its boring for the beginning arcs same as the game but I think its better on the later arcs. Soundtrack and animation still kinda fire tho
I know you always say bad things about Kotobukiya but they always try to do something with the bases, they rarely give us flat bases. I’m a huge Kotobukiya fan, as the most important thing to me with figures is the pose, the face & the base, and Kotobukiya always nail all 3.

That is only 1/10 scale tho
Way smaller than this one
@@drurel true, but it is cheaper so you get what you pay for
$47 is just ridiculous. If only it was sold for that price on amiami.

Chen hai - Azur lane(one of the worst azur lane figures and the prime example of fake advertisement)
