I'm not a gate aspirant. Now there are 3 things I want to highlight. 1. Salman Khan of Khan Academy is wide advocator of free education. I think any comparison that you want to make of Ravula should be done to him than to Elon or Steve or others. In India, having revenue generated from an open content would be tough task and has a very less chance of success. Our country's contributions on patreon campaigns, donations etc on activities that does good for society is comparatively less. So for Raudra to think of charging for the services they provide is natural and probably is their best move. Next, he provides these services after convincing you with his freely available videos. This is a extremely good gesture (more than just capturing customers), it is honest way of saying " look I worked 'hard' to make these videos, pay me only if you think its worth and you want it." 2. Now to the ones who are doing it for free, even Khan academy ( or open-source softwares) has got investors and a good revenue model. I think instead of arguing you should look for a good revenue model. A good start for your revenue model would be meta.stackexchange.com/questions/79435/what-is-stack-overflows-business-model , en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_models_for_open-source_software. 3. Finally, here is a guy who puts genuine effort into lectures (not through any community based service model) and he should be highly encouraged to continue this. I also think it is the "narrow minded" people who advocates for collective good over a single guy's blood and sweat. ( without giving him some respect )

Although i am not a gate aspirant but a rbi gr. b aspirant i come to see you videos when i feel demotivated. You have helped my friend a lot in cracking gate and from her i came to know about you. I just feel really bad that during my engineering days my friend used to say many of her friends who were preparing for gate got you paid study material for a very small price from someone. . Although none of them qualified but i really feel bad that people are illegally using your material and selling them at much lower prices.
